After hanging up the phone, Joe looked at Skylar. “We’ll finish the wedding photos tomorrow. I have something urgent to handle now.”

He didn’t have time to say more before leaving.

There were still three outfits left to shoot, but the session had to be paused for

now.

The entire photography team was at a loss about the sudden situation.

However, since Joe had paid a large sum of money, they had no choice but to delay the shoot.

Once Skylar came to her senses, she changed out of her elaborate outfit and removed her makeup. Skylar quickly realized that Joe’s hasty departure likely indicated some issues with the work he had been handling in Fachington over the past few days.

After finishing up, she planned to head back to the hotel. Checking the time, she realized it was almost time for dinner.

Hence, she instructed the driver to stop at a restaurant. It was a Floan

restaurant.

She ordered a simple plate of carbonara spaghetti and a side of salad and took out her phone while waiting.

She started a casual chat with Natalie.

“Skye, did you finish your wedding photos?” Natalie asked.

Skylar replied, “Not yet. Joe had to leave suddenly due to an urgent matter, so we’ll finish the remaining outfits tomorrow.”

Natalie responded, “Joe must be a really busy guy. Splitting it into two days isn’t too bad. You’ve got over ten days for this trip, so it would be exhausting to finish in one day.”

Skylar agreed. “You’re right.”

Natalie continued, “Mr. Powell only had two scenes today and finished early so we went out for dinner. We found

ingredients are airlifted from Jipsburg. I’m so craving it. I’m going to feast tonight and make up for a few pounds I’ve lost.”

She then sent a photo of a vibrant, cheesy fondue.

It was incredibly tempting for someone like Skylar, who also loved fondue. The sight made her mouth water, and she was already salivating. “That looks so delicious.”

Natalie replied, “It’s not even boiling yet, but it looks promising. I can’t help but drool already.”

“My carbonara spaghetti is ready too.‘

Skylar put down her phone and started eating the carbonara spaghetti with serious intent.

anymore.

Since the hotel was nearby, she decided not to have the driver take her back. Instead, she strolled back slowly on foot. Along the way, she bought some pastries because she was still hungry.

When she got back to the hotel, Steven called her from an international

number. They chatted briefly. After finishing her call with Steven, Skylar took a glance at her Instagram.

Vera’s latest post showed her in a hospital bed with an IV drip, and a man’s back was visible in the photo.

The man was dressed casually, leaning against the window and looking outside. Skylar recognized the outfit as Joe’s from earlier that day.

Moreover, after spending time with him, she had become quite familiar with his back.

It only took one look for her to identify Joe. It seemed that his hasty departure was related to Vera.

Skylar stared at her phone, her mind blank for a while.

In the fondue restaurant, steam was rising everywhere. The room was filled with the rich, mouth–watering aroma of melted cheese.

Everyone was enjoying the meal enthusiastically, clearly having been craving it for some time.

Natalie, who had no self–control, kept eating until her stomach was full. Even Austin, who was usually very disciplined, indulged significantly today.

“I wish we could come here every day during our time in Fachington, ” one colleague sighed, expressing their desire.

Natalie raised her hand. “I agree.”

“I agree too,” several others chimed in, raising their hands as well.
