The Visit
The Visit
"WHY did you let Hela pick the roses, MOMMY? What if her hand was pricked?" "You're overly concerned, sweetie. Those roses don't have any thorns," her mother said. "You have no idea. What if it has, and you just didn't notice?" Zoe's mother burst out laughing. "I understand your apprehension, sweetie. I used to be like you. However, allow your child to enjoy the moment. If she likes flowers, so be it. Even if it means destroying everything, besides, we can replace them." "You're spoiling her, Mommy. And it bothers me." She took the child in her arms and lifted her. She took the petals off her daughter's small hand. And it appears that her daughter was upset by what she did, as she began to cry. "See how you made her cry? I told you to let her be.” "Mom, she'll get spoiled with this treatment, and I'm worried she'll grow up to be like those spoiled brat kids." "If you don't want to get in trouble, call your child's father. So you don't have to struggle—he can help you," her mother said, and it appeared that it had a different meaning for her. Zoe was taken aback by it. It's been six months since she last saw him. He was never seen by her again. "I'm not sure, Mom." "Well, then, make Gunner the father of your child. Furthermore, he appears to like you." Zoe simply shook her head. "I'll just bathe my baby, mom," she explained as she began to walk away. Her baby had been quiet since her mother gave her rose petals. Her mother, like her, was a headstrong woman. She leaned in and kissed her daughter on the cheek. "Can we just throw this away, baby?" She asked, but her daughter refused to let go. The young girl just kept crumpling the rose petals in her tiny hands. Petal fragments were strewn across the floor. She feeds her daughter after she has finished bathing her. Her daughter quickly fell asleep, so Zoe left Hela in her crib. She went downstairs and discovered her mother conversing with someone in the living room. Her mother's laughter was audible. She appears to be conversing with someone
else. She moved closer to see who it was, and she was taken aback when she saw the figure—it was a man. The only thing she can see is the man's back. When her mother saw her, she called out to her, and the man quickly turned to face her. When she saw the guy's familiar face, her eyes widened. 'What exactly is he doing here?' She pondered. The man rose to his feet and approached her. "Hello," he said. "What exactly are you doing here?" Zoe inquired. Her mother approached them. "What kind of question, Zoe? Of course, he’s visiting.” ‘Visiting? But he never brought a gift?' She pondered. She, on the other hand, does not want to assume. “Ah… is that so? Who is he seeing, Mom? You?” Zoe inquired. Her mother burst out laughing. “Of course… it’s you, my daughter.” She didn't respond and walked away, acting like a difficult girl. But she was ecstatic on the inside. If only things weren't so complicated, she'd jump for joy and hug Helios. "Zoe, don't be so impolite. First, speak with Helios. I'm just going to Tonette's house to look for your aunt Millie." Her mother was telling her about a neighbor who had a birthday. Her aunt did invite her to the party, but Zoe declined because she needed to care for Hela. After all, it was a waste of her time. She will simply wait for her aunt to bring her food. "Didn't you say you didn't want to go?" It was something her mother told her a while ago, but it appears that things have changed. "Am I unable to change my mind?" Her mother smiled. Zoe was already acquainted with her mother. She was teasing her once more. Helios appears to have been forgiven by her mother. Her mother also owes Helios. “Okay. Simply take him with you." She directed her finger at Helios, who was now frowning and staring at her. She abruptly averted her gaze. She grabbed a pan and set it on the stove. She lit the stove to heat the pan. She then went to the fridge, took two eggs, and reached for the bottle of cooking oil. She's doing her best to ignore Helios' presence. She does not want to burst into tears.
She avoids seeing him as much as possible. Because every time she sees him, she is still in pain. She was doing her best to remind herself that they no longer had the opportunity. But why does it appear that fate is playing tricks on them? What does fate want them to do, that they keep crossing each other's path? Is Helios truly in love with her? Is it fate that sends them hidden messages that they will have the opportunity to be together? He’s married for goodness sake! She is at a loss for what to do if Helios approaches her. She'll just keep falling deeper. And she was afraid she wouldn't be able to get out of it. She loves Helios, and nothing changes, even if she tries to forget about him. That feeling grew stronger after she gave birth to their child. She thought about him before going to bed, and she found herself crying at times. But secrets and lies are keeping it hidden. Everything around them is complicated. Helios has many things to deal with.Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
