Chapter 144 Gwenda Is More Than Just an Ingrate
Chapter 144 Gwenda Is More Than Just an Ingrate
Arely picked up the folders on the desk and threw them hard on the floor.
Everyone was shocked.
Arely seemed to be intent on smashing things now.
Hattie stopped hesitating and called the police.
Soon, the police arrived at the scene.
Arely did not expect Hattie to actually call the police, and was so scared that she turned pale.
In the end, the police took her back to the police station and got Hattie to come along to make a
statement.
...
When Gwenda returned to the studio in the evening, Hattie reported the whole process of the incident
to her.
After hearing that, Gwenda patted Hattie's shoulder and said, "Thanks for your hard work. If she ever
comes here again, just deal with it like you have today."
"Gwenda, is she really your aunt? Your biological aunt?"
Hattie asked in disbelief.
"Yeah, biological. But she never liked me ever since I was a child, the I-wish-you-were-dead kind of
dislike. It's better to not have an aunt like her at all."
Gwenda sneered coldly.
"D*mn! She's one of a kind. You don't even know how much she was screeching when we got to the
police station today. If the police hadn't reprimanded her, she might have gone out on the streets with a
loudspeaker to make her complaints."
Rubbing her ears, Hattie said in resignation, "Gosh, my ears are dead after listening to a whole day of
screeching."
"Alright, I'll treat you to a big meal as compensation. How about that?"
"That's more like it! I didn't stay at the police station for the whole day to suffer those noises in vain
then."
"Well, what are you waiting for? Let's go."
The two of them went out for a big meal.
...
At this moment, Arely had been released from the police station, and she immediately went to the
Evans family home to wail out her complaints.
However, Pauline made sure to invite a group of friends to her home today for a gathering before Arely
got there. As a result, everyone found out about what happened to Arely and began to talk about it.
"Did Gwenda really do that?"
Pauline asked, pretending to be surprised.
Arely wiped her tears and complained, "Pauline, Gwenda is really out of control! She not only
disrespected me, but also humiliated me! How can I bear this?!"
"Alright, alright. Try to calm down,"
Pauline said, looking extremely put on the spot. "I'm sure that she didn't mean it."
"How could she have not meant it? I heard her underling say that she was the one who told them to call
the police..."
Arely sobbed. "I've never suffered such humiliation in all my years of living! What a sin! How could I
have a niece like her..."
"In my opinion, Gwenda is becoming more and more insolent!"
Nearby, one of Pauline's friends could not help but speak up. "Back then, I saw how overbearing she
was. I didn't think that she would get worse when she got older! Speaking of which, Pauline is too kind.
If I were her stepmother, I would totally lecture her and cow her into obedience! She must have a death
wish if she ever walks all over me like that!"
"That's right. That girl is so arrogant that she thinks she can do whatever she wants! Pauline, as her
stepmother, you can't let her be!"
Each of them had something to say. Hearing their words, Pauline looked sad. "I can't even get her to
listen to me, what can I do..."
"You... Oh, for goodness' sake, you're pissing me off!"
Seeing Pauline's attitude in regards to the matter caused Arely to glare at her. "What's so scary about
Gwenda? How can an adult like you not even keep her in check!"
"Didn't you suffer too? Besides, she doesn't even listen to her father, and she hates me, so I don't dare
to interfere."
As Pauline spoke, she teared up and began sobbing. "I know you blame me, but I'm just out of options!
She thinks that I'm helping my daughter, I feel wronged too you know..."
Tears poured down her cheeks and Pauline lowered her head and wept sadly.
Seeing this, Pauline's friends quickly comforted her. "Oh dear. Arely, just stop it. It's not easy for
Pauline to be a stepmother. If you want to blame someone, blame that brat, Gwenda. She definitely
took after her own mother, because otherwise how could she be so impolite?"
"That's right. It's not Pauline's fault that Gwenda ended up the way she did."
Arely was irritated by their words. "Ugh, forget it. I know you're not a tough person. Since you feel that
you can no longer care about Gwenda, I will take over! I will never let her get away with this. I shall
have my revenge!"
With that, she stood up and said, "I'll be going back now, Pauline. You can be at ease. Stop being
upset with this sort of thing."
"Alright."
Pauline nodded and she watched Arely leave.
...
One of her friends patted her shoulder and said, "Your sister-in-law is right, you know. It's not worth Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g
worrying about a child like Gwenda. But I do feel sorry for you. After all, you've raised that brat for 10
years or so, but she turned out to be an ingrate!"
"Gwenda is more than just an ingrate, she can't even be considered as a normal person! Such a
heartless thing. She'd better not end up in my hands or I would absolutely tear her a new one!"
