Chapter 410 I Signed On The Agreement Too
Chapter 410 I Signed On The Agreement Too
"I signed on the agreement too."
"What? No... No way! That is absolutely impossible! If you had signed the agreement, then why would
you come all the way here to look for me?" Rachel said in disbelief.
Hiram snorted. He smoked as he played with his windproof lighter. "The reason why I came here to
look for you is because I don't want to be abandoned by you like that. Let me tell you, Rachel. I would
have been irritated and probably have signed the agreement too, just like you did! You're the one who
drafted the agreement and signed it in the first place. You made me do what I did.
You said I look like a wolf. I think you're the one who looks like a wolf in this regard. You're cruel and
ungrateful. You know how much I treasure you and how well I treat you. My heart belongs to you alone
and you manage to keep my attention all to yourself. You're the whole meaning of my life. That's how
much you mean to me, and yet, look what you did to me.
No matter how mean my dad is or what he has done, you could have just told me about it, and we
could have fixed it together. Instead, you just left. You left our children and me behind. You're so
irresponsible and such a coward! What did you want me to do? !"
Rachel wasn't listening to Hiram. All she was thinking about was that sentence Hiram had just said: "I
signed on the agreement too."
Rachel felt like she didn't have any control over herself. She slowly stood up, shaking. She asked
Hiram with disbelief as she walked towards him. "Hiram, answer my question again.
Did you… Did you really sign on the agreement?"
Rachel could feel that she was on the verge of collapsing. It seemed like the moment Hiram had said
yes to her, that she would pass out immediately.
"What's the point of me answering the question? You already told Marlon that I'm your ex. Aren't you
just satisfied with the outcome now?"
Hiram raised his eyebrows and said sarcastically. However, when he saw tears rolling down Rachel's
cheeks, something hit him, and he looked around the room.
Rachel fell on the floor as she heard Hiram's answer. All she had done in the past few years, was
evaporated into nothing.
"Stop acting innocent in front of me and stop crying! Isn't this what you wanted? When you drafted the
agreement, didn't you want me to sign it? How come you're unhappy now after I've signed it?"
Hiram said without even looking at Rachel. He was afraid that he couldn't control himself and would tell
her the truth.
Tears kept rolling down Rachel's cheeks. She eventually convinced herself to stop crying. She needed
to be strong at that moment. She couldn't afford to lose her mind.
"What about our children? Can you… Will you allow me to raise them?" Rachel asked Hiram slowly
and carefully. She almost felt like she couldn't breathe. However, she knew that she had to calm herself
down and she tried her best to do that, for the sake of her children. She couldn't afford to lose them.
Hearing Rachel's question, Hiram turned around and squinted. "Do you think I will agree on that,
Rachel? Look what you have done! Don't you think it's too late to ask me such a ridiculous question?"
Rachel turned around with her back against Hiram. She didn't dare to look at him.
"Didn't you tell me in the car that you didn't want to go back? I'm here to tell you that you can do
whatever you want now. However, you don't need to cancel your credit card and roam around, instead
of staying in a hotel to get away from me."
The cigar broke into two pieces as Hiram held the cigar tighter when he responded to her angrily. He
then put out the cigar in an ashtray.
He stood up and looked at the sight of Rachel's back, which was shaking slightly. Rachel was trying to
calm herself down and didn't want Hiram to see her face.
'Rachel, I will let you know how serious the consequences of you leaving me can be.' Hiram thought.
"Wait... Are you lying to me, Hiram? If you really signed the agreement, then why did you publish news
in the newspaper?!" Thinking about the news in the newspaper, Rachel shouted at Hiram.
'If Hiram had really signed the agreement, why would he have done that?' Rachel thought.
"So you did see the news? So that's why you did your makeup like that? You were afraid that I would
recognize you, right?"
Hiram sneered at Rachel, with his back facing to her.
Frustrated, Rachel lowered her head. She thought that Hiram was going to leave, but he walked into
the bathroom instead. Her mind immediately went blank. She wasn't able to think straight about
anything.
Hiram said that
he had signed the divorce agreement.
So, she and Hiram got divorced just like that? Seriously? Did they get divorced by a simple impulse?
It had never occurred to her.
She left Hiram, but she had her reason to do that! Hiram had always been calm and cool about it,
almost as though he understood. How come he was so reckless? How could he do such a thing?
Was he really angry at her this time?
A few minutes later, Hiram walked out of the bathroom. He took a look at Rachel and explained,"It's too
late now. It's the last available room in the hotel. I've asked an attendant to take care of that little girl,"
Hiram said.
He was trying to tell Rachel why they were sharing a room.
Rachel didn't know what to do or how to respond. She was absent-minded about the situation. She just
sat there, feeling hopeless and desperate. She staggered to the bedroom, towards the bed.
Rachel climbed on the bed. Seconds later, she was on top of Hiram. She then bent down and kissed
Hiram like a woman who had been possessed.
Confused, Hiram furrowed his eyebrows. 'What was wrong with Rachel?
Isn't she supposed to be sad and frustrated about everything that had been said today?
Isn't she acting a little abnormal?'
Regardless of his confusion, Hiram knew that no matter how angry he was at her, there was no way for
him to reject her sexy and enthusiastic kiss.
However, soon, Hiram understood what Rachel was thinking.
When they were halfway to having sex, Rachel asked Hiram suddenly,"Tell me, Hiram. You didn't sign
the agreement, did you?"
Hiram frowned immediately. Did she want to force him to tell her the truth by persuading him with sex?
She truly underestimated his self-control.
Hiram didn't say a word. Instead, he pulled the quilt to cover both of them.
A few minutes later, Rachel was tired and sat up, resting her hands on the bed. She forced Hiram to
look into her eyes. "Tell me the truth! You didn't sign it, did you? I need to know."
Seeing Rachel's anxiety increase, Hiram looked around and shifted his sight slowly. He lifted the quilt,
stood up and put his clothes back on. Nôvel(D)rama.Org's content.
"Yes, I signed it."
"Yet, you chose to sleep with me? !" Rachel felt like she had something on Hiram. She pulled on his
clothes, in an attempt to stop him from getting dressed.
Hiram raised his eyebrows. "You owe me. You have left me for such a long time that if I count this as
once a day, you still owe me twelve times,"
said, Hiram. He took his pants from Rachel's hand and continued to put on his clothes.
He then left, leaving Rachel in the bedroom. She felt desperate.
Hiram let out a big sigh of relief after he closed the door. The only way he could prevent Rachel from
running away from him was by letting her know that it was pointless for her to run away from him.
Otherwise, no matter what he did, it would still fail in vain.
"Mr. Rong, Gavin asked for you. He asked for you to return as soon as possible. May I know your plan,
sir?" Chad had received Gavin's call at midnight. He sounded serious. He told Chad that no matter
what, Hiram had to come back. That was why Chad had waited for Hiram at the door.
Hiram tidied up his suit and walked towards the guest room. "Just ignore him Gavin," said Hiram.
"Ah? I… I don't understand, Hiram. We've already found Rachel." Chad followed Hiram to the guest
room and said anxiously,"Mr. Rong, Carl and I will stay here and take care of Rachel. There's no need
for you to worry about her one bit. I swear I won't let Rachel run away again and that I will protect her
with my life!"
Chad lowered his head immediately as Hiram glanced at him. "Well, I know it sounds like I'm
exaggerating, but what I'm trying to say is that we won't let Rachel run away again. I promise. You can
be reassured and go back if you please!"
Hiram opened the door to another room and walked in. He responded to Chad,"Chad, do you know
what it will mean if I go back this time?"
"Sure, it means that you're responsible and professional. You're the CEO of Streams Company, which
is why you're the focus of the conference. What's the meaning of the conference if you're absent from
the meeting?" Chad followed Hiram.
The conference would be entirely meaningless if Hiram was to be absent from it.
"Mr. Rong, Gavin just had an operation. He is confined in the hospital now and is far too weak to host
the conference. If you stay here and don't go back, Ben will be embarrassed in front of all those people,
and I won't know how to face Gavin after that."
Hiram walked in and opened the luggage that Carl had brought back. He said coldly,"You know what? I
want him to know what the consequences of him arranging my life at his own will are.
He drove away my wife and now asked me to help him hold the meeting and socialize with his friends.
Why should I listen to him and just go back?"
Embarrassed about what he had said, Chad rubbed his head. "Mr. Rong, I think they are irrelevant."
"Irrelevant? He is the chairman of the company, and yet he can do whatever he wants without
considering my feelings. Why should I be professional and consider the overall situation?"
'Overall situation? What exactly was the overall situation?' Hiram thought.
Suppressing his anger for a moment could make his entire family happy again. At least for a while. It
was an overall situation too. However, would he be able to do that?
Hiram lowered his head and searched through Rachel's luggage. He wanted to know what her life was
like in the past few days.
This time, he was determined to let Gavin know what the consequence of ignoring the situation was. All
of Rachel's suffering and sacrifice couldn't be worthless.
Suddenly, Hiram found something in Rachel's clothes.
