Chapter 1022 Reconciling With Lionel
After all, De Lux was a major international brand holding an absolute advantage in the market. Since they had taken a tumble, it was hard to
guarantee they wouldn't seize the opportunity for revenge.
Although Emmy Boutique was the one who bid against them at that time, they immediately transferred the contract to Saunders Group after
securing it.
De Lux's executives were not fools. After all, Emmy Boutique suddenly came out of nowhere, intercepted the contract, and promptly handed
it to Saunders Group. By then, it was clear to De Lux that Emmy Boutique was targeting them.
Upon reflection, the executives held back their anger, not daring to trouble Emmy Boutique. In the end, they could only vent their fury on
Saunders Group.
Upon hearing the question, Victoria didn't rush to deal with the matter at hand. She pushed the pile of files in front of her aside and leaned
back in her chair leisurely.
While massaging her throbbing temples, she said, “To be precise, it's Lynda from De Lux who's trying to trip me up.”
Bailey furrowed her brows.
She knew who Lynda was as Emmy Boutique used to have plenty of clashes against De Lux. She had met Lynda in person before and knew
the latter was a tough character.
However, Bailey didn't understand why Lynda suddenly decided to attack Saunders Group. After all, the company only recently started
making its mark in the business world.
She wondered if Lynda was trying to ruin Saunders Group before buying it.
Although, given the market value of Saunders Group, it wouldn't be worth the effort.
“What did she do?” asked Bailey.
Victoria gritted her teeth fiercely, speaking one word at a time. “She coerced several major international dealers to refuse to cooperate with
Saunders Group. Saunders Group's foundation is currently unstable and doesn't have its own marketing chain. You know that. It is entirely
reliant on the distribution from several major regional dealers. The products under Saunders Group's banner have gained fame due to LG
Corporation's promotion. However, without distributors, the finished goods can only rot in the warehouse.”
Bailey's brows furrowed even more. Lynda is quick and fierce. To think she took drastic options by directly cutting off Saunders Group's
retreat. Why is she doing this, though? What benefits can she gain from ruining Saunders Group? I understand she was upset that the contract
was snatched away. However, she won't go so far as to monopolize everything, right? Won't that just make her peers resent her?
Then, she spoke. “Vicky, did you offend Lynda? Although she's not exactly a good person, she does have a sharp mind. I'm not trying to
belittle Saunders Group, but with its current status, it's simply not worth her making such a fuss. The De Lux market is overseas, and it has a
firm foothold. Even my Emmy Boutique can't overthrow it.”
Victoria smiled bitterly.
She hadn't done anything to offend that woman. If there was any complication, it was probably due to her status as Lionel's ex-wife. “Lynda
has been collaborating with LG Corporation for many years and admires Lionel.”
Bailey blinked. “So that's how it is. I see.” Lynda must have guessed that Lionel was the one who invited Emmy Boutique to bid, snatching
the contract from her hands and causing her to stumble. Therefore, in her fury, she directed her anger toward Saunders Group. “Beauty can be
deceiving, Ms. Saunders. Who would have thought the man you disdain is highly sought after by others.”
Victoria glared at her, saying menacingly, “If you're here to mock me, then leave. I'm busy and don't have time for your nonsense.”
With a cheerful grin, Bailey strolled to the edge of the table. She propped himself up with one hand on the table while the other gently lifted
Victoria's chin. “I won't allow others to bully my woman.”
Victoria gave her a stern look, slapped her hand away, and said in a deep voice, “This is quite a tricky situation. You better not cause more
trouble. If the international distributors refuse to distribute Saunders Group's goods, then this batch of goods can only be left to mold in the
warehouse.”
Bailey raised her eyebrows playfully and asked with a smile, “Have you ever considered doing your own marketing? That way, you can cut
out the middleman and avoid them making a profit. Without the middlemen taking a cut, the market price of your finished product can be
significantly reduced. That way, you gain an advantage in terms of pricing. Everyone loves a good bargain. If they can get something of equal
value for eighty, they'll never spend a hundred.”
Victoria sighed lightly. “Of course I want to. Who wouldn't? However, all of Saunders Group's self-operated stores are located domestically.
How can we sell abroad? Don't tell me to expand our stores abroad right now. There's no time. Investing such significant manpower and
resources won't yield results in a short period. Saunders Group is selling spring collections, and half of spring has already passed. If we delay
any longer, we'll end up with piles of clothes getting moldy in the warehouse.”
Bailey curled his lips into a smile and raised an eyebrow, saying, “No storefront? We can always sell online.”
Victoria slowly rose to her feet, a thoughtful glint flashing in her eyes.
Victoria had considered online sales, but the major global online shopping platforms seemed to have been coerced by Lynda, too. As such,
they were probably unwilling to cooperate with Victoria.
Moreover, Victoria didn't trust them to sell her new products, fearing that Lynda might sabotage her behind the scenes.
De Lux had been entrenched in the international market for many years. Who could tell which online shopping platform was under Lynda's
control?
If Victoria rashly cooperated, there was a high chance she might fall into their trap.
Bailey saw Victoria's concerns, gently patted the latter's face, and chuckled. “Why don't we just set up a few online shopping platforms? The
market for new products is now open. No matter where you decide to sell your goods, there will always be people ready to buy them. In that
case, there's no need for us to act according to others' whims. Whether it's those distributors or online shopping platforms, we don't have to
lower our dignity to plead with them. Once you've turned this product line into a bestseller, they'll be the ones regretting their decision.”
Bailey spoke fervently and passionately, but Victoria couldn't bring herself to feel happy, as she had too many things to consider.
Developing a few online shopping platforms at a moment's notice wasn't difficult. One could get it done in a few days with the help of ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .
professionals. Then, all one needed to do was to list them on the market.
However, what about logistics?
When the time came for consumers worldwide to place their orders, how would the company ship the goods across the vast ocean?
There was no international logistics under Saunders Group's banner. Such a massive workload was not something that could be easily
accomplished.
“Saunders Group doesn't have its own logistics. If we collaborate with another logistics company, we'll have to negotiate region by region,”
said Victoria.
Bailey was no fool. Anything Victoria could think of, she naturally could, too. Thus, when Victoria brought it up, she remained very calm.
“You don't have international logistics, but the Shurmer family does. Shurmer Group is the largest pharmaceutical manufacturer in the world.
Its industries can be found across various countries. When it comes to logistics, I'm afraid no company's logistics can surpass that of the
Shurmer family. Not even Luther Group can compare. After all, Luther Group is involved in many industries. They may be able to handle
logistics in one country but perhaps not in another. However, the Shurmer family is different. They have partnerships with over two hundred
countries worldwide. Hence, they possess comprehensive access to sea, land, and air transportation. They can deliver goods with ease.”
Victoria's eyes lit up for a moment, but her joy lasted only a few seconds before it left her eyes again. “I'm afraid I may need your help with
this matter. However, I know you don't like the Shurmer family, and considering your feelings, I don't want to put you in a difficult position.”
Bailey pinched Victoria's cheek with a mischievous glint. “Mrs. Shurmer is Lionel's maternal aunt. If you reconcile with Lionel, there's no
reason for Mrs. Shurmer not to help you.”
