Chapter 1036 Zephyr Has Gone Missing
Artemis' face turned grave.
A few days ago, Rebecca told him that the organization only dealt in firearms. But unexpectedly, they had crossed the line, even daring to
touch the drug trade.
Even large-scale underground forces such as Tarragon and the Saviors dare not touch those forbidden items.
Tarragon and the Saviors took on assassination missions and also deals in high-end weaponry. However, they would never touch anything that
harm human such as organ trafficking or prohibited drugs.
“So, Mr. Raiden approached us because you want to persuade us to collaborate with you to dismantle this organization together?”
Raiden nodded and said, “I know that Mr. Luther is the leader of Tarragon, and Tarragon controls the underworld forces around the world.
“Given the current situation, it's more effective to seek help from you, the leader. However, before I came to you, I contacted Rebecca, the
person in charge of Interpol.
“She told me that she was severely injured while fighting the power of the Black Puma. Out of desperation, I had no choice but to come and
bother you,” she said.
Artemis curved his lips into a smile, a hint of mockery in his expression. He said lightly, “I suppose you came looking for me because you
found out that Rebecca has entrusted this matter to me, didn't you?
“Alright, I'll handle this force. You don't need to pay me anything, but all you need to do is agree to one request of mine.”
“What requirements?”
“Stay away from my wife.”
After he finished speaking, he stood up, took Bailey by the hand, and headed towards the door.
Bailey rolled her eyes again.
Does this bl*ody man really need to be this jealous?
He gets jealous at the drop of a hat.
Can he at least maintain some dignity and image of a successful man?
“Mr. Raiden, leave this matter to us. Don't get involved. After all, your status is rather unique. Once you take action, it represents the stance of
the entire Chanaea.”
“Creating such a commotion could potentially cause panic among international powers. If this is not handled carefully, it could even invite
disaster...”
Before she could finish her sentence, Artemis casually swung the door shut.
Raiden gazed at the tightly shut door, a trace of gloom crossing his eyes.
In this lifetime, he would never have the chance to stand by her side again.
Her eyes, her heart, were filled with nothing but Artemis. Even if he wanted to compete, he didn't want to cause her any distress.
After Artemis dragged Bailey out in a huff, she couldn't help but laugh. “Your jealousy is so unreasonable, Artemis. I belong to you from body
to soul. What are you still worried about?”
Artemis abruptly halted, his gaze coldly fixated on her as he snapped, “You care about him. That was why you even went to the lengths of
explaining things to him.
“I'm petty and intolerant, so I can't stand even the smallest annoyance. You can criticize me for being narrow-minded. I accept it.”
Bailey couldn't help but pinch his handsome face, laughing as she said, “Alright. If I don't let him get involved, he won't have a chance to get
close to me, right?
“Why are you upset when I'm clearly just nibbing his intentions in the bud myself? Or are you saying you want him to get involved in this
matter, so he can use this opportunity to interact with me?”
He's dreaming. Artemis thought to himself as he was quite pleased. “That's right. Keep thinking that way. I'm your man, so you can't give
them any chances.”
Bailey just couldn't believe what he said. She just pulled him towards the banquet hall.
Trying to reason with a man who was jealous of old grievances was a battle one would never win.
Half an hour later, the wedding banquet officially began.
Since her father was not there, Scarlett walked into the hall arm in arm with her uncle.
She was already a lady of a prestigious family. Now, adorned in an exquisite and luxurious wedding gown, she shone like a radiant jewel,
instantly outshining everyone present.
In the banquet hall, the music of celebration began to play. The bride, with her graceful steps, walked down from the end of the red carpet, her
long wedding gown trailing behind her.
The groom stood emotionless beneath the altar, his gaze blandly meeting the approaching bride.
Justin slowly clenched his fists that were hanging by his side.
In just one more minute, he would be able to unveil her true identity.
He had tolerated this woman to the utmost.
On the outskirts of the crowd, Bailey and Artemis found an inconspicuous spot to sit down. With faces full of mockery, they watched the
farcical spectacle that was about to begin at the end of the red carpet.
Veronique couldn't make it in person, so Bailey came on her behalf.
She had a miniature camera affixed to the side of her head, perfectly capturing and transmitting everything happening at the wedding banquet
to her.
“Vero, the show is about to start. Make sure you don't doze off.”
The soft laughter of Veronique came through the microphone. “Don't worry. I...”
Before she could finish speaking, an urgent ringtone sounded from the other end of the line. “Bay, I need to take this call.”
Then, a rustling sound echoed from the other end.
Then, Veronique's shocked voice came through. “What did you say? Zephyr is missing? Didn't he go to the Luther residence to hang out with
Zayron. How could he possibly be missing?”
Finally, a sound of a heavy object hitting the ground came through the microphone. It was likely that the phone had been dropped on the floor.
Suppressing her anxiousness, Bailey asked in a deep voice, “Vero, what happened?”
“Bay, I just got a call from my father. He said that Zephyr vanished into thin air on his way to the Luther residence. His phone is unreachable,
and there's no trace of him anywhere.”
Bailey lifted her head, her sharp gaze landed on the retreating figure of Scarlett.
She had a hunch that this woman was the mastermind.
Even though she had no evidence.
But no one in this world, but Scarlett would kidnap Zephyr.
“Don't worry just yet. Let me get in touch with Zayron and have him send someone to look into it.”
As soon as she finished speaking, she snatched the phone from Artemis' hand and casually sent a text message to Zayron: Zephyr has gone
missing. I suspect Scarlett has kidnapped him. You must rescue him in the shortest possible time.
Artemis sat next to her. He didn't hear what Veronique had just said to her, but he knew for sure that something big must have happened.
Now, seeing how she was sending messages to Zayron, he roughly understood the ins and outs of the situation.
“Artemis, what should we do? The wedding is about to start. If Scarlett threatens Justin, he might have no choice but to give in.
“Once he does that, it will be as difficult as climbing to the heavens to get rid of her later. Isn't this like stabbing a knife into Veronique's
heart?”
The situation unfolded so abruptly that, for a moment, Artemis found himself uncertain of what to do.
“Should I order someone to blow up the Century Hotel?”
...
“Ah”
A shrill scream from Veronique echoed in the earpiece again. Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
Startled, Bailey quickly asked, “Vero, what's wrong?”
“I, I received a photo. It's, it's Zephyr. He's covered in so much blood, so much blood.”
“Send it over for me to take a look.”
Several long seconds passed before she finally received a photo.
Looking at the gruesome scene in the photo, Bailey's pupils contracted sharply twice.
What a move by Scarlett, who would have thought she could turn defeat into victory at the last moment.
Today, Justin had humiliated her, making her fall from heaven to hell. Given that woman's tactics, she probably won't tolerate Zephyr.
In other words, if Justin upset her today, she would take out her anger on Zephyr.
“Bay, listen to me. Zephyr can't get into trouble. He can't be harmed.”
“Go tell Justin that I want him to marry Scarlett. I don't want anything else, I just want Zephyr to live.”
