Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 339

Chapter 339

Molly shook her head, "I was definitely going to head home. I just got too engrossed in my game and

lost track of time."

"Just keep getting lost in your game then."

Molly squeezed Chad tight, "Nah, can't do that. My favorite brother isn't in the game. Wherever my

brother is, that's where I'll be."

Everyone in the room knew that Chad, the captain of the Havenbrook detective squad, had arrived and

was giving Molly a piece of his mind at the entrance.

And everyone came out to enjoy the show.

What they saw though, was Chad getting a bear hug from his sister, followed by Molly whispering

sweet nothings into his ear?

"Chad, I didn't cause any big trouble today, just got home a bit late. I didn't give you any extra

headache. Don't be mad okay? I love you the most. Don't be mad, because when you're mad, I get

scared."

Chad couldn't take it anymore. He barked, "Hands off!"

Molly wouldn't let go, "If you promise not to hit me, I'll let go." She was always like this, persistent and

good at getting what she wanted.

Chad just stared at her in silence.

Frightened, Molly let go. As Chad raised his hand to hit her, she quickly scrambled to the passenger

seat of the car.

Chad's raised hand clenched into a fist and withdrew.

Jack stepped up to Chad and extended his hand, "Nice to meet you, Chad. I'm Jack Ashford."

Chad shot a hostile look at the man in front of him and didn't return the handshake, "Mr. Ashford, it

would be best if you kept your distance from my sister in the future."

Jack tried to stare down Chad, who was about his age. But Chad's position of authority cast a

formidable aura that made Jack back down.

"Mr. Byrne, I would like to pursue Molly."

Chad didn't mince his words, "Neither you nor your family are good enough for her!"

Then he got in the car and drove off, leaving everyone to watch as the car slowly descended the hill.

As Chad's car disappeared from sight, Jack's eyebrows furrowed. Chad was investigating him!

On the road, Chad raised his hand to smack Molly, who was misbehaving. Molly flinched in fear.

Chad glanced at the frightened Molly next to him, and his raised hand fell again. Clearly, he couldn't

bring himself to hit her, and ended up just fuming in silence.

Molly sneaked a peek at her brooding brother and bit her lip. She stayed quiet for a while before

whispering, "Mom mentioned you and me when we shared a bed last night."

"Speak up, I can't hear you," Chad said, irritated.

Molly pursed her lips, then spoke up, "Mom said we're too close for siblings. We're more like lovers.

She's worried that my feelings for you might become romantic, so she suggested that I get out more

and make more friends. Not to always stick with blood relatives, but to befriend people who aren't

related to us. When someone shows interest in me, I shouldn't reject them outright. I should get to

know them first, and maybe even date them if we click. That's why I accepted Mr. Jack's invitation

today."

Molly's words had a slight edge of anger to them.

Chad fell silent.

He pulled the car over halfway and turned off the engine. He turned to look at Molly, who was fuming

next to him, "So, you knew he was into you before you accepted his invitation?"

Molly could feel Chad's rage intensifying. She shot a glance at the man next to her, who was seething,

and said softly, "I wasn't sure before, but today confirmed it."

Chad banged the steering wheel in frustration, then turned to Molly, "And what do you think?" If she

dared to say she had a thing for Jack, he'd kick her out of the car right away.

Molly licked her lips, "At first, I thought he was okay."

"Get out!" Chad's jealousy was written all over his face.

Molly frowned, "Let me finish. He started off as a gentleman and was very respectful towards me. But

when he answered my phone without my permission, I lost interest in him immediately."

Chad unbuckled his seatbelt, got out of the car, walked to the passenger side, and opened the door,

"Get out. Let the guy you fancy pick you up. There's no room for you in my car anymore."

"I don't want to." Molly held onto her seatbelt, "I want to be in the car of the person I love the most."

Chad retorted, "Isn't that supposed to be him?"

"But you are the one I love the most," Molly said, looking into Chad's eyes.

Under the cover of the dark moonlit night, when emotions run high, Chad popped a question to Molly,

"Since you love me the most, would you marry me in the future?"

Molly didn't hesitate, "But you're my brother."

"We're not related by blood!"

Chad shouted out loud, his heart pounding.

Only Chad knew that his hand was clenched tightly as he looked at Molly's stunned expression.

Anxiety, unease, worry, fear, all these emotions came rushing at him.

Molly stared dumbfounded at Chad. It was as if a tightly locked door in her mind refused to open.

Chad's sudden outburst seemed like a force trying to break it down.

Molly was riddled with questions. Did Chad not want her to be his sister anymore? Or?

She didn't dare to speak, feeling a bit scared.

Chad couldn't see her face. He waited for a long while but didn't get a response. He slammed the car

door shut.

Molly lowered her head. Just as she thought, Chad didn't like her anymore.

She felt wronged.

No wonder Mia had cried in frustration before.

Chad stood outside, the night breeze cooling him down. He turned to look at the girl in the car through

the window. Chad got back into his seat.

He got in the car and rolled the window down.

In a lower voice, he said, "Jack is not a good guy. You shouldn't be with someone like him. He had a This belongs to NôvelDrama.Org: ©.

girlfriend overseas, but because she didn't share his family's religious beliefs, his mother thought she

wasn't good enough for him. She meddled and caused them to break up, the girl ended up transferring

because her reputation was ruined."

Molly looked up at Chad in shock.

Chad continued, "Jack's father has another family outside, a mistress, and a daughter who is only two

years younger than you. His family situation is complicated. If you're really thinking about marriage, he

and his family are not the right choice for you. Also, his family might be a ticking time bomb. His mom's

got a bad rap, and her character ain't exactly top-notch. His dad's a womanizer with zero sense of

responsibility. If his parents are like that, it's no wonder Jack could ditch his own girlfriend. He ain’t no

saint. Don't put him on a pedestal, look to the future. You're still young. Don't be blind when it comes to

love."

Chad fired up the car, but his foot stayed on the brake, not moving an inch.

He turned his head and saw Molly's red, swollen eyes. "Why are you crying?"

"You don't like me anymore."
