Chapter 366
Chapter 366
Andre: "Then why don't you book a flight for the cops, too? Let them cross the ocean to catch me."
Mia furiously retorted, "Can't you just spoil me a bit?"
"Am I not already spoiling you enough? I'm preventing you from going out to protect you. Do you think
spoiling you means handing you the knife when you want to murder someone?"
Mia pursed her lips, guiltily admitting, "Well, that's also a form of spoiling, I suppose."
Leo gave Mia a thumbs-up, "If my uncle actually handed you the knife, there would be headlines: 'Well-
known CEO of a multinational corporation, Andre, spoils wife to the point of incarceration.'"
Hearing his nephew's mocking tone, Andre turned to his wife, "Did you hear that, Mia? Even Leo is
more clear-headed than you."
Mia playfully smacked Leo's back, "Buzz off, Leo. It's hard enough trying to appease my husband
without you tripping me up."
Leo rubbed his sore arm and muttered quietly, then left with a sense of dissatisfaction after being
chased away by Mia.
Andre, hearing his wife's words, felt a sweet warmth spread through his heart. He was indeed a tough
nut to crack.
Mia retreated to their bedroom with her phone, trying to persuage her husband. "Honey, if I birth you a
second child, will you let me go?"
Andre felt that this proposition was twisted. He replied, "Aren't you the one who wants a second child,
so I can help you with your paper?"
Mia recalled a vivid memory. She tried again, "What about a third child?"
Andre: "I'm not interested."
Mia felt depressed. Before, she could use her body to trick her husband, but now, with the baby in her
belly, she had no weapon left.
"What if I give you a daughter? Don't all men want a darling little girl?"
Andre: "I'll raise you as my little girl."
With children out of the picture, Mia started to consider her other charms. In the end, she discovered
that another shining point about herself was her annoying ability. Yet, if she were to promise her
husband that she would stop annoying him, clearly, she wouldn't even believe her own words.
"Honey, I want to go home to see my parents."
Andre: "I'll have the driver take you."
Mia was instantly inflamed, "Andre, if you keep preventing me from leaving the house today, we'll be
getting a divorce as soon as you come home."
Andre's voice suddenly hardened, his anger barely concealed, "I don’t think you want to try that."
Just moments ago, Andre was talking to his wife with patience and tenderness. This matter, however,
managed to provoke his anger.
Mia whimpered, "You're making me upset. My stomach hurts."
Andre was panicking. "Mia, what's wrong?"
Mia clutched her stomach, "My stomach hurts. It's your fault. I'm hanging up now. I have to go to the
hospital." With that, Mia ended the call.
She wiped her eyes, which were dry without a single tear.
Before long, Naomi appeared at the door of Mia's bedroom, anxiously asking, "Mia, what happened to Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
your stomach?"
Mia feigned a sob, "My husband upset me so much that my stomach hurts."
Naomi immediately arranged for the driver to take them to the hospital. Leo watched as Mia relished in
her apparent victory. He scratched his head in frustration and said, "Why does Mia have so many tricks
up her sleeve?"
At the hospital, Naomi got out of the car a minute after Mia. But by the time she did, Mia was gone.
"Naomi, my stomach doesn't hurt anymore. I'll leave first, bye." From Leo's passenger seat, one could
see a petite girl waving and smiling at Naomi.
"You little rascal." Naomi sighed, feeling that daughters were quite a handful. If they turned out to be as
mischievous as Mia, it would be quite a challenge.
Andre also received a call from Naomi. Feeling duped, Andre took a deep breath, "Naomi, just leave
her be. Let her have her moment, and I'll deal with her when I get back."
After hanging up, Andre rubbed his chest. He knew that if there were truly any danger, his nephew
wouldn't be dragging a pregnant woman like her along with him.
"Sir, are you feeling discomfort in your heart?" A strange female voice asked.
Andre: "The person in my heart is causing me discomfort."
"Is it... your wife?"
Andre's lips curved with a hint of indulgence, "Besides my lively little one at home, who else has the
ability to make me so upset that it hurts in my chest?"
Every time he mentioned Mia, Andre couldn't help but smile, even when he was away from home.
When someone casually asked him, "Andre, are you married?" Andre would respond with a grin, "Yes,
I'm a family man now. My wife is pregnant. If not for her condition, I would've brought her along this
trip."
Meanwhile, the young Mia, who had a special place in Andre's heart, was already sitting in her
nephew's car, boasting proudly, "When I get stubborn, even Andre has to compromise."
Leo glanced at her, "Mia, I wish you the best of luck."
The car travelled across Havenbrook, finally stopping at the Chade Inc. building.
In the morning, Molly was getting familiar with the office environment and learning the workflow. She
found that once she put her mind to it, it wasn't that difficult.
At noon, the office manager asked Molly, "Miss, would you like to have lunch with the CEO or join us at
the cafeteria?"
Molly replied, "I'm meeting my friends for lunch. You guys go ahead."
With that, she grabbed her purse and dashed out, only to rush back into the office a moment later. Her
coworkers were left stunned by her swift return.
"By the way, what time do we start working in the afternoon?" Molly had a knack for forgetting things,
including her work schedule.
"Be back by 13:50 to clock in."
Molly nodded and dashed off again.
Downstairs, she hopped into the car.
"Since Jade has started working and earning her own money, how about she treats us to lunch today?"
Leo knew he would get a smack for this, but he couldn't resist teasing his aunt.
They always said that aunts and nephews shared a special bond.
Watching Molly pummelling Leo, Mia shook her head, "Leo, did you owe Molly a fortune in your past
life? Otherwise, how could your dear aunt be so ruthless to you?"
Leo: "I must have owed the both of you in my past life." He drove them off to find a place to eat.
Molly interjected, "You guys know my brother got suspended, right? I need to support him with my
earnings."
Leo: "You are so stingy. I'll pay for this meal, okay?"
Molly patted Mia's seat, "Mia, pick the most expensive restaurant in Havenbrook."
Mia: "Majestic Dining Enclave, it is. We'll order one of everything on the menu."
"Hey kiddo, let's hit up the Majestic Dining Enclave."
Once at the restaurant, Andre called Leo, and Leo stepped aside to take the call.
Seeing this, Molly asked, "Mia, how come my older brother doesn't call you anymore?"
"I must have ticked him off. He's probably mad at me." Mia poured everyone a glass of water. "Ignore
your brother. To me, he's just a sidekick."
