Sweet Mischief’s Rollercoaster Romance

Chapter 371

Chapter 371

Mia chimed in again, "With Chad being suspended, and I'm sure my husband would have said

something if he knew."

Leo replied, "I went to see Chad, but my uncle doesn't want me involved in Chad's affairs. Mars

Arrowood is handling Chad's case. I've been looking into a case from sixteen years ago for Chad."

Mia paused for a moment, then continued sipping her juice. "And? What did you find?"

"Nothing yet, Chad just gathered the files today."

Without realizing it, Mia had finished her juice. "So you're going back tomorrow?"

"Yep."

After finishing her juice, Mia couldn't help but ask Leo again, "You deliberately said that at lunch to get

a reaction out of Molly, didn't you?"

Leo looked at Mia, whose insightfulness made him wonder if she could read minds. Property belongs to Nôvel(D)r/ama.Org.

"You're asking for it. What was that nonsense about Chad marrying someone else? What did you think

Molly's reaction would prove? Do you think she wouldn't say something impulsive in the heat of the

moment?"

Leo: "So you knew I was trying to provoke her to see her reaction to Chad?"

Mia: "If the provocation works, you'll gain an extra uncle. If it doesn't, you'll lose a real aunt. It's not just

us who think Molly and Chad are close. Our wise Hansen probably thinks the same.

Why do you think our dear old man hasn't brought up the subject with his daughter? Because he knows

her and doesn't want to upset her. Plus, Molly and Chad are still siblings, their relationship isn't defined

yet, and Hansen can't say anything.

You're the most brave one, going straight in to provoke your aunt. Did you get the result you wanted?"

Leo: "Mia, you're married. What do you think of Jade’s situation?"

"I'm married, but I've never been in a situation like this. Love is unpredictable. It's not up to us, it's up to

Hansen and the Byrnes.

Once they agree, there's nothing illegal about marriage, and they're not blood siblings. Molly and her

mother-in-law will still be as close as mother and daughter."

Having said that, she paused for a moment, then continued. "But Leo, you're going to be in contact with

Chad a lot. I think you could subtly find out what he thinks about Molly.

I have a feeling that Molly is naive, and Chad is the one pulling the strings." After saying this, Mia

raised an eyebrow at Leo.

Leo squinted his eyes, "You mean, Chad has been leading Jade on?"

Mia rested her hand under her nose, her eyes sparkling with intelligence. "I know Molly. She's no match

for Chad."

Leo thought about it. His aunt had read plenty of romance novels, but when it came to love, she was a

blank slate.

"I'll ask Chad the next time I see him."

Mia added, "Also, do you remember Ellory and Kyle?

When we first confronted them, your grandfather said Molly had died. But when dad arranged for

'Molly's' funeral, it was very discreet, and even close relatives weren't notified. They had no interaction

with us at the time, and everyone knew Molly had disappeared. How did they know 'Molly' was dead? I

find this very suspicious.

I brought it up with your uncle before, but he always treats me like a child and doesn't take what I say

seriously.

You were there, you should know about the Mastin family. I'm not joking.

Whether they really knew or just happened to find out, I think you should look into it. Don't leave any

stone unturned, the answer might be right in front of us."

Leo looked at the pregnant woman beside him and sighed, "Mia, if you used this intelligence in your

daily interactions with my uncle, he wouldn't treat you like a child."

Mia immediately refused, waving her hand and making a face. "No way, your uncle is my husband. I'm

his delicate little wife in front of him. I let him do all the thinking."

It was getting late, so Leo stood up. "We've been sitting for a while, let's go rest."

Mia glanced at the time. "It's almost eight. I need to video call your uncle."

As they both got up, Leo, who had grown accustomed to his sidekick's routine, took Mia's empty juice

glass.

This left Mia, who was about to take glass herself, momentarily stunned. She jokingly said, "Leo, your

future girlfriend is going to be very lucky."

Leo joked back, "When I find a girlfriend, she'll be the one taking care of me."

Mia laughed and said, "Don't worry, your aunt, mom, and I won't let that dream come true."

As soon as Mia got back to her room, Andre's video call came in.

When Mia saw her husband on the screen, her expression immediately changed.

The intelligent, clear-headed Mia that was present just moments ago instantly transformed into the

sweet little wife of the Andre, sweetly calling him, "Honey, are you alone?"

Andre chuckled, "I'm at the hotel, alone."

Mia started her check-in, "Turn the camera around, let me see if there's anyone hiding in the room."

Andre indulgently complied, flipping the camera around to show her every corner of the room. The

living room, bedroom, bathroom, gym, and dining room were all shown to her.

Mia rubbed her belly, complaining, "Andre gets to enjoy a luxury suite while his wife and child are home

eating bread and water."

"Quit exaggerating. Come on, tell me what 'good deeds' my little treasure has done today?"

Mia pouted, "Nothing, just ate."

"Do you think your husband is a fool?"

Mia looked at her husband, starting to miss him. "Honey, when are you coming back? I miss you."

A soft, tender confession of missing him hit Andre right in the heart.

On the screen was his sweet little wife. If he said he didn't miss her, it would be a lie.

"I'll be back as soon as the contract is signed, I won't be here for long."

Andre reassured her.

Mia nodded, "Actually, today we were trying to figure out who's targeting Chad. We concluded that it's

either his competitors or someone behind him."

Andre was surprised. His young wife spent most of her time at home or school, rarely paying attention

to news or current events. How did she come up with that?

He had come to the same conclusion this morning when he called Chad.

Mia and her husband were on the same page, their suspicions aligning in an uncanny way.

"Babe, how did you come to this conclusion?" Andre queried, intrigued by his wife's astute deduction.

Mia didn't hide anything from him. She replied, "The main victim here is Chad, but the perpetrator

remains anonymous. We can't possibly pinpoint who it might be.

When things get murky, follow the money. It all becomes clear then."

Andre watched her, not interrupting, patiently waiting for Mia to continue her line of thought.

Mia frowned. "If everything goes as planned, Chad is going to be promoted this time, which means he'll

have more power. Economic investigations are different from criminal ones. They deal with big

business moguls. If someone as incorruptible as Chad were to helm the team, it would undoubtedly

threaten many vested interests."
