Chapter 384
Chapter 384
Mia rubbed her belly and said, “Honey, is that necessary? I just had my prenatal check-up not long
ago.”
Andre replied, “I think it’s important to consult the doctor about whether the consistent movement of our
little one in your belly at a specific time every night would cause stretch marks.”
Upon hearing this, Mia immediately responded, “Let’s go the first thing tomorrow morning!”
The next morning, right after breakfast, Andre, along with his father and wife, set off for the hospital.
Meanwhile, Molly prepared breakfast for Chad and then headed out to bring back more food. Upon
their arrival, Molly was not in the room; Chad was in the bathroom freshening up. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
Hansen curiously asked, “Aren’t you supposed to be taken care of?”
Not long after, Molly returned with breakfast. She was thrilled to see her family, “Oh, Dad, Mia, why
didn’t you let me know you were coming?”
Hansen glanced at the food in his daughter’s hands. “You’re eating breakfast at nine?”
A little embarrassed, Molly checked the time and replied, “I woke up at half past eight, so breakfast at
nine is normal, isn’t it?”
Hansen grumbled, “You’re even more unreliable than your brother and sister-in-law!”
After a moment of silence, Hansen asked Molly, “Did you take care of Chad last night?”
Molly nodded and casually answered, “Yeah, why?”
Hansen became visibly annoyed. Mia noticed her father’s irritation and said to Molly in a low voice,
“Hansen seems upset.”
“Why? Did you piss him off again?”
Mia whispered back, “What do you mean ‘again’? It’s obviously you who upset him.”
Upon noticing her father’s change in demeanor, Molly finally understood why he was upset.
“I would do the same for Andre if he were sick,” she defended, “It’s just that he already has a wife, so I
don’t need to do so.”
Molly then handed Chad a bowl of oatmeal, “Here, eat up. I also bought some bagels for you.”
She also offered one to Hansen, “Dad, you should have one too. The bagels from the hospital are
actually pretty good. I already had two on my way here.”
Hansen scoffed, “Do I look like I just woke up at half past eight? I’ve already had breakfast. And a very
hearty breakfast. Hum!”
Molly shrugged, “If you don’t want it, I’ll eat it.”
After saying it, she took a bite of her bagel and went back to Chad’s side.
While the others were talking, Molly continued to enjoy her bagels. Mia, who was sitting nearby, was
tempted by the smell and took one for herself.
Molly shared one with Mia, “Let them do the talking. We’ll just enjoy our food.”
“But I already ate,” Mia protested.
Molly quickly found an excuse for her friend, “That was for your baby. This one is for yourself.”
That made sense to Mia, so she took a bite. “Mmm, it’s really good. Where did you buy these, Molly?”
“Just across the street from the hospital. It’s always crowded,” Molly informed her.
Mia took another bite. “Once Leo comes back, we should go there together.”
“Speaking of Leo, where has he been?” Molly asked.
“He went to West Meadows,” Mia informed her while still enjoying her bagel.
Andre occasionally glanced at his wife, who was standing by the window, relishing her bagel. A tender
smile played on his lips.
The Cedillo family didn’t stay long in the hospital. After their visit, they left without disturbing Chad’s
meal.
Andre took his wife to see the doctor, while Hansen decided to stroll around the hospital.
Back in the room, Molly was feeding Chad, while outside, the sun was starting to heat up the earth,
leaving people with nowhere to hide from the scorching heat.
After wandering around the hospital grounds for a while, Hansen returned inside due to the heat.
In the hospital corridor, he sat amongst other patients waiting for their turn. In the crowd, he was
unnoticeable.
Soon, two people entered the hospital. One of them was Finley’s driver, Tom, whom Hansen had seen
a few times. The other was a pregnant woman, about the same stage as Mia. As they entered the
elevator, Hansen remembered something his daughter-in-law had mentioned. Could this pregnant
woman be the one she was referring to?
Despite Tom’s sharp instincts, he failed to notice the keen gaze from within the crowd. Hansen got up,
immediately stepping into the next elevator. He dialed his son, “Tom is likely on your floor with that girl.
Take Mia away from them. According to her insatiable curiosity, she’s bound to...”
Before his father could finish, Andre caught his wife’s gaze and interjected, “Mia has already seen
them.”
Sure enough, Mia’s eyes were glued to the figures emerging from the elevator. This time, she was wise
enough to rely on her husband.
She lightly nudged his arm. “Honey, look! That’s the chauffeur I told you about, the one who works for
Finley. And there’s the pregnant girl.”
