Chapter 890

2/2 Chapter 890 Larissa dialed Kevan’s number. The phone rang for what felt like ages. Kevan finally answered it just before it could disconnect. “Hey, Lad?” Kevar seemed to intentionally lower his voice. “Are you up?” It was eerily quiet on the other end of the fire, making it impossible for Larissa to pinpoint his current location. “Yeah,” she responded. “Where are you?” He hesitated for a moment before replying. Me? Well I’m at the hospital” Larissa immediately sprang up from the couch. “What happened?” “It’s not me,” Kevan paused briefly. His voice became solter as he continued, “It’s Wendy.”

“Wendy?’ Larissa rushed into the room, not realizing her knee had collided with the coffee table, causing her to wince in pain. But even then, nothing could stop her. “Which hospital are you at? I’m on my way!” she exclaimed. “Don’t-” Kevan interjected. “Wendy is asleep, and she won’t wake up for a while. I’ll head back home soon. We can go visit her together tomorrow.” “Ah…” Larisse sighed, hanging the clothes she had taken out back up. “Well just make sure you stay sale on your way back.” an hour later, Kevan returned. He even brought her some takeout from McRonald’s. The smell al Iried lood kept watting out of the paper bag. But Larissa lost her appetite despite growling with hunger. “What’s going on with Wendy?” She held onto Kevan’s hand her worried expression was evident. “You should eat first.” Kevan handed her the bag of food. ‘Till you in later.” From NôvelDrama.Org.

Larissa took a bite of the burger as if she was merely going through the motions. But before she could swallow, impatience got the better of her. “Come on, tell me!” “I went to see her this afternoon and showed her some evidence,” he began from the start, trying to create some space for the revelation. “So? What’s the connection between that and her being in the hospital?” She wasn’t interested in hearing any nonsense. “Later, I planned to take her home, but she accidentaly slipped and fell when she tried to avoid me. She lost the baby.” His expression was solemn, and his tone was filled with quill. She lost her grip on the burger, causing it to fall to the floor. “Wha-what? Say that again… What happened to Wendy?” She couldn’t believe her ears. Tears welled in her eyes, teetering on the edge of falling. He embraced her and apologized. “I’m so sorry.” His voice was hoa rse, and it trembled ever so slightly. “It’s my fault.” Larissa clung Lightly to his shirt her face buried in his chest, sobbing with each breath. “It’s on me.” She sobbed, her cries reaching Kevan’s ears. Tim the one who hurt her, not you. You…” She raised her head, her teary eyes locking onto his. Even in the depths of her own sorrow, she continued to comfort him, “Don’t blame yourself. It’s not your laull.” Kevan held her even more tightly. “Kevan.” She rarely used his name so intimately. His body shook slightly, and he responded with a solt “Yeah.” “I want to go to the hospital to be with her, Larissa said. 1/2 “She must be devastated-betrayed by someone she loved, deceived by a close friend. Now, even the baby…” Her voice got caught in her throat, and she couldn’t continue. “It’s too late. I’ve arranged for a caretaker to take care of her. Don’t worry about her, Get a good night’s

sleep, and I’ll take you there early in the morning. Okay?” Kevan tried to persuade her. However, she stubbornly shook her head. “I can’t sleep.”
