Chapter 123 The Plan To Escape (Part One)
Chapter 123 The Plan To Escape (Part One)
After lunch, the weather was hot and humid. Fiona felt like it was going to rain as the breeze felt heavy.
She didn't know if it was true or if she was just feeling nervous. Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
"It's so humid. I hate going out in this weather. My skin feels sticky and greasy. Why did you ask me to
meet you now?" Leona was waving her hand fan as she walked around the garden at Cherry Grove
Residence with Fiona. She wasn't the timid and pure girl anymore. Instead, she became more and
more like Charles' lovers.
Gazing at one of the walls not far away from them, Fiona said, "I just want to know why you pushed me
from the mountain. Was it your intention to kill me?"
"It was so long ago, why are you asking about it now?" Leona frowned.
"I believe everything happens for a reason," Fiona said, glancing around. The wall was about three
meters tall. As she walked, she couldn't help but notice the alarms on her path, placed at a distance of
every few meters. All she could do tonight was wait in the garden until Spencer came to her rescue.
Leona noticed that Fiona was absorbed in her own thoughts and asked her, "Why did you ask me to
come today? If there's no reason, I'm heading back."
"Goodbye," Fiona blurted out all of a sudden as she saw Leona turn and walk away. Though she'd
asked Leona to meet her today so that she could get herself familiarized with the mansion, she couldn't
help but say goodbye to her.
Fiona had heard from Emily that Charles would send the women in Cherry Grove Residence to sleep
with his important guests. Leona was one of them too. She was clueless as to how Leona had survived
here this long. In any case, she knew it was impossible for them to see each other ever again, so she
bid farewell to her. And in her heart, she wished Leona well.
Leona turned around and looked at Fiona, puzzled. "You're being really weird."
"No, I'm not." It was very uncommon for her to genuinely smile at Leona, but she did. "Leona, you take
care now! Goodbye."
Leona stared at Fiona for just a second, feeling perplexed, before she blurted out, "Are you leaving?"
Fiona smiled. She didn't tell Leona the truth, but the latter already knew the answer.
"I heard that it's going to rain tonight. Make sure to carry an umbrella," Leona said simply before turning
around and walking to her room. Just when she turned the corner, her lips curved into a sincere smile.
"I'm sorry, Fiona," she whispered in a voice so low that her words were swept away by the breeze. She
then walked up the stairs to her room and disappeared into the dark.
Waiting always felt tedious for Fiona. And that night in particular crawled by at an unusually slow pace.
It was not until all the lights inside and outside the Cherry Grove Residence were turned on that Fiona's
heart finally raced in anticipation. She stood in the room, holding the phone in her hand and staring at
the southwest wall without blinking.
In P City
Spencer was dressed in his uniform but without his hat. Although he looked extremely handsome, his
pursed lips made him look serious.
Meanwhile, George and Eric prepared to go to Cherry Grove Residence to rescue Fiona. The rest of
the men were to be under Leo's command at the base, while Daniel took a squad of men with him to
confiscate the goods sent to M Country from X.
"If you meet Charles..." George looked at Spencer and hesitated.
"I think it would be better," Spencer said, raising his eyebrows. "I've been wanting to meet him for a
long time now." After he finished his words, he left the room and walked to the car parked outside.
He opened the door, but before getting in,
he turned to George and said, "Please take care of Fiona. I'm leaving her under your care."
"If you're done early, maybe you can come over to the mansion and save her," George suggested.
"I know." After that, Spencer got into the car and drove off. Sitting in the driver's seat, he held the
steering wheel with one hand, and grabbed the maple leaf pendant that hung around his neck with his
other hand and kissed it.
'Fiona, please come back safely.'
On the other side of the road was his destination, the abandoned security station near T Country's
border. The place was supposed to be deserted, and yet, it was brightly lit. It looked strange under the
moonlight, considering there was no one around in the vast area.
Celine was starving when she woke up. She hadn't eaten all day long. When she opened her eyes, she
saw the infinite night outside the window.
"Mmph..." Suddenly, she realized she was tied to a chair. She grappled with the ropes as she tried to
cry for help through the duct tape that covered her mouth. She sobbed with a muffled voice, "Help..."
"Shut your mouth!" a fierce-looking man yelled at her suddenly. He seemed quite violent with a sub-
machine gun in his hand. He pointed the gun at Celine and asked, "Haven't you cried enough already?
Do you want us to fuck you again?" As soon as he said those words,
someone suddenly laughed in a disgusting way behind her. Celine instantly burst into tears,
her eyes turning red.
She glared at those two men as though she wanted to rip them apart by merely just looking at them.
Last night had been revolting for her! She wanted to chop them up into tiny bits for what they did to her.
Were they under the impression that she was some object their filthy hands could toy around with?
"Is she nuts?" That moment, a tall and slender man with a sculpted body walked into the ramshackle
room. He was none other than Charles' right-hand man, Francis.
"Chief!" The smiles on the men's faces vanished as soon as they saw Francis enter the room.
After glancing at Celine, Francis turned to the men and ordered in their native language, "Are you
ready?"
"Yes."
"Okay, watch her carefully."
"Yes, chief."
Celine paid great attention to every word he said, but she couldn't understand a thing.
Francis must have noticed the perplexed expression in her eyes, because he walked to her and
squatted down next to the chair before raising her chin rudely. "Don't worry. When your savior gets
here, I'll send you both to hell together."
Celine shook her head frantically, letting out muffled cries. Fear spread all over her body as she
trembled.
"Aren't you eager to die?" Francis wondered, raising his eyebrows in surprise.
Celine shook her head. It was better to live than to die! She wasn't willing to die just yet.
"Well, you don't have a choice." Francis stood up, letting Celine go. He walked towards the door with
his hands behind his back as he muttered, "Clueless bitch."
