CHAPTER 52 GIVE ME THE GOLDEN DAGGER
Phoenix was surprised to see herself in a strange room. It was entirely empty and all white with only her inside. There are no doors or windows one could use for escaping.
” What am I? ” Was the first question that left her lip as her eyes ogle around.
” Hello. Can anyone hear me? ” She called for help but her voice only bounced back at her.
” Axion! Aunt Glinda! Where are you guys? ” She was starting to get scared when no one replied to her. She was completely trapped and she hated it.
” Someone get me out of here, please! ”
” Phoenix! ” A melodic voice hovered the room and Phoenix’s eyes widened a bit on recognizing who that voice belong to.
” Mom? ” She chuckled a bit, looking around for Ashley in the room. But her chuckle died when she didn’t see anyone.
” Mom…”
” Your mate needs you, Phoenix ” At the mention of Axion, Phoenix’s brows furrowed in worry.
” What happened to Axion? ” She inquired immediately.
” He’s in pain and needs you. You have to save him ” Phoenix’s heart leaped in scare and fear engulfed her.
Her Axion is in pain? How?
” How do I get out of this room then, mom? ” It was more like a plea as her eyes softened.
” Your mate needs you, Phoenix. You mate needs you, Phoenix ” The voice only kept repeating until it slowly faded, and everywhere became dead silent.
All of a sudden a scene appeared before Phoenix which made her eyes almost pop out. It was that of Corbin and Axion, who was unconscious and covered in blood at the edge of a cliff. Corbin had an evil grin up his lips and pushed Axion off even before Phoenix could take a step.
” Axion!! ” She yelled at the top of her voice and immediately snap her eyes open, panting heavily.
” Thank goodness it was merely a dream ” She heaved, making her throbbing heart relax. But then her brows folded in a frown when her eyes landed on the buckets above her. She made to stand but a force pulled her back and it was then she realized her hands were tied up to the bed she was on.
” What the… Where am I? ” She mumbled as she struggled to break free. After countless struggles and nothing happening, her anger flared up and her eyes turned burning red.
Using her power she snap her hands up with force and the rope broke. She got down, hissing angrily while scanning the unfamiliar room she was in.
Then she remembered something.
She was with Alastair earlier and the last thing she could recall was getting smacked in the head pretty hard.
” Alastair… you son of a bitch! ” She clenched her fist thinking it was him who tied her up to thwart her from getting the dagger.
Alastair on the other hand was packing his clothes in a hurry. His body was shaking in fear as all that was in his mind was escaping before Corbin or Phoenix comes back for him.Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
And speaking of the devil, the door barged open revealing Phoenix whose fiery eyes were glaring at him. He gulped down hard, stepping back as Phoenix took considerable steps toward him.
” How dare you try to trick me, Alastair? Where is the Golden Dagger? ” She demanded.
” How did she even manage to wake up? I made sure to cast a sleeping spell on her so she won’t wake up until tomorrow, why didn’t it work? ” These questions were going on in Alastair’s mind as he step back.
” I don’t… know… what you’re talking… about ” He managed to reply, stuttering. He stylishly brought out his second wand. Phoenix spotting the wand let out a snort. Just glaring at it, the wand caught fire and Alastair immediately dropped it to the floor where it burned to ashes.
” Where is the Golden Dagger, Alastair? Stop wasting my time ” Phoenix stopped on getting to him, breathing out in anger. She didn’t even let Alastair say a word as she clutched his neck and hauled him close.
With her burning eyes boring into his, Alastair almost peed in his pants. Swears, he has never seen a Phoenix this angry all his life.
” Speak up! ” Phoenix hollered impatiently at him making him quiver.
” I… can’t… give you the dagger ” Alastair stammered while at the same time, making a sword appear in his hand.
” Why can’t you give it to me? ” Phoenix frowned at him and thinking he caught her off guard, Alastair raised the sword to stab her but Phoenix was quick enough to let go of his neck and duck the sword.
She kicked the sword off Alastair’s hand and it twirled in the air before she reached out and grab it, quickly pinning Alastair to the wall with it on his neck.
” Tell me why you can’t release the dagger or I’d make sure to slit your throat! ” Phoenix threatened and Alastair’s heart digested to his stomach.
Only one slit then his head will reach the ground if he dares to do anything stupid.
” Speak up! ” Phoenix barked.
” Because someone else already came for it! ” Alastair didn’t realize when the words rolled off his lips.
” Who? ” Phoenix grimaced and he nodded negatively.
” He’d kill me if I tell you ”
” Well, I would as well kill you before he does! ” Phoenix spat and made to slit his throat when,
” No, please don’t kill me, don’t ” Alastair pleaded like a coward making her stop.
” Who visited you and informed you that I was coming? ”
” It was Corbin ” Alastair answered without hesitation.
” What?! ” Phoenix exclaimed a bit shocked.
How did he know about their plan? Glaring at Alastair,
” Did he come here for the dagger? ” She inquired and he nodded. An angry scoff left her lips.
” Seriously?! ” She howled and Alastair whimpered, closing his eyes.
” How could you give a Dark Genie access to a dagger that is meant to kill them?! ”
” He almost killed me. I didn’t have a choice ”
” What are you? A coward? ” Phoenix huffed in disbelief.
” He is a Genie. I am no match for him! ” Alastair hissed.
” If that’s the case… then you’re good as dead! ” Phoenix spat and made to stab him but Alastair held the edge of the sword, looking into her eyes with pleading eyes.
” Before you kill me. There is something else you need to know ” He muttered and Phoenix gave him a ” you better start speaking ” glare.
” Corbin wasn’t only here for the dagger. The main reason he came was to trap your mate using you as the bait…

Footsteps could be heard approaching in the dungeon Axion was in. It was slow and counted steps indicating whosoever it was, was unfamiliar with the dungeon.
The person was none other than Phoenix, walking through the passage, her eyes roaming about in the darkness. She was scared, it was obvious in her eyes but she didn’t stop moving despite not knowing where she was heading to.
You might be wondering how she got to the dungeon. Well, Alastair told her everything and helped her enter in exchange for her to spare his life.
Despite being scared of the dark, she pushed through because all that was in her mind was Axion. Thinking about what Corbin must have done to him was enough to get her heart hammering in fear and worry.
Getting to the cell, she stopped. But then, she covered her nose from the disgusting smell booming.
What is that horrible smell?
With the little ray of light, she peeked into the cell. Waves of shock scourged through her on seeing Axion chained like he was some kind of a hostage and unconscious. He was almost unrecognizable with the way he was covered in blood.
” Axion ” Phoenix gasped as her eyes widened. She covered her mouth to prevent a whimper from leaving her lips, her eyes flooded with tears already.
” Axion ” She mumbled, looking around for a way to enter. Her head was spinning in confusion, her heart aching in pain seeing Axion in that state. When she couldn’t find a way to enter, she let out an angry cry. But then, she beamed spotting the huge padlock bolting the cell.
Without hesitating, she started hitting and dragging the padlock in anger to break it. Her hands were already bleeding but she didn’t care as all that mattered to her was breaking it.
