The Almighty Lord Caspian

Chapter 771 Peace

Chapter 771 Peace

In order to maintain his reputation, Byron had been telling others that he was setting up a trap to catch

Caspian.

But who would have thought that Caspian would withdraw his troops midway and Diatoran even took

the initiative to sue for peace?

Seizing this opportunity, Byron propagated it wildly and claimed that Caspian was scared off by his

setup. Many citizens of Filren believed his words.

Now that Caspian has been dismissed, the fighting power of Diatoran would plummet.

Since they had the strength to deal with Diatoran, why not demand some benefits from them?

Many Filrenians agreed to go to war with Diatoran. They seemed to have forgotten Caspian's previous

imposing power, or rather, they had all been deceived by Byron's rhetoric.

Only Byron and some high-ranking officials knew about the truth of this matter. They were not arrogant.

Even though Caspian had been dismissed, they knew that defeating Diatoran would be a very difficult

task.

Manny was well aware that what Byron said was complete nonsense.

"King Byron is indeed a strategist by using the lives of tens of thousands of soldiers to lure Caspian.

But in the end, all of your soldiers died while Caspian roamed freely.

"Is this all part of your plan, Your Majesty?" Manny asked with a smile.

Manny was a renowned diplomat, and he had caught Byron's weakness. Once Byron admitted to what

he said, he would be condemned by thousands!

"We are discussing compensation. Why do you bring up irrelevant topics? I'm asking you whether

Diatoran is willing to cede territory. If not, I will order the troops to attack now! It will be too late for

regrets by then!"

Byron had no intention of wasting time with Manny. He knew negotiations were definitely not Manny's

strong suit, so he chose to be unscrupulous.

"As far as I know, Capsian previously seized the capital of Filren. He withdrew his troops under King

Balthazar's orders, not because he was afraid of your setup.

"King Balthazar believed that commanding war brings suffering to people, so he kindly stopped the war.

So why did you portray Caspian as a coward who chose to flee?

"If Filren dared to go to war, I believe King Balthazar would immediately call back Caspian to take

command of the military. By then, the entire International Council would be in chaos. Do I need to say

more about Filren's fate?" Manny argued reasonably.

Byron had always been afraid to go to war because he feared Caspian would be reinstated. But he

certainly wouldn't admit this in front of everyone.

"Nonsense! If it weren't for Caspian fleeing in panic, my army would have surrounded him long ago! Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

"Do you really think I'm afraid of Caspian? His title as the Diatoranian God of War is nothing but an

empty title!" Byron said solemnly.

"Then, let's not talk anymore! Hanley, let's go!" Manny waved his hand and turned to leave.

Hanley Andrews was dumbfounded as he stood on the side. He was about to say something but was

pulled away by Manny.

In this negotiation, Manny was the one who called the shots, so Hanley didn't say much.

Hanley was Jerry's godson. Jerry instructed him not to let Filren wage war under any circumstances.

But who knew that Manny would threaten Filren by declaring war?

If Byron declared war against Diatoran, the two of them might become villains in the eyes of

Diatoranians.

Hanley was extremely uneasy. He didn't want to leave because he wanted to fight a bit more and

explain.

Just as the two were leaving, they heard Byron saying, "Wait! Do you really want to plunge Diatoran

into war?"

Hearing his words, Manny and Hanley felt relieved. Byron making them stay showed that he, too,

feared going to war.

"King Byron, it seems you still don't understand the situation with Diatoran. The people are all united

and are advocating for war. King Balthazar chooses to negotiate with you because he doesn't want to

see innocent people suffer," Manny said calmly.

"Don't waste time. I'll give you two days to think about it, and we'll come to a conclusion then!" Byron

waved his hand impatiently.

With that, Manny and Hanley glanced at each other and turned to leave.

As Byron watched their departing figures, his face gradually darkened. What Manny said just now hit

his sore spot.

Byron suddenly slapped his thigh, and his face was grim as he shouted, "Jason!"

"Yes, sir!"

A middle-aged man stepped forward and nodded respectfully. He was the captain of Filren's Venomous

Wolves.

"I'll give you seven days to bring Caspian's head to me! As long as he is killed, we can launch a full-

scale attack. By then, we'll take advantage of the situation to take over Diatoran!" Byron gritted his

teeth.

Diatoran had once sent Macy to assassinate Camden. So, Byron would use the same tactic on them.

Although Caspian no longer held an official position now, he posed a great threat to Filren. They dared

not to go to war as long as Caspian was alive.

After much consideration, Byron decided to eliminate Caspian first before making further decisions.

"Your Majesty, rest assured. I will definitely bring Caspian's head back!" Jason smiled confidently.

Jason had thought of assassinating Caspian before. However, it was difficult for him to carry out the

operation because Caspian was surrounded by experts back then.

Now that Caspian no longer held an official position, Jason was absolutely confident in killing him.

Outside the Riverside Villa, Kate held a box of herbal tea.

Every time she met someone, she claimed she and Logan were in-laws.

Carl felt like he was going to die of embarrassment. He didn't want to be seen with her as it was all too

embarrassing.

Carl's face was bitter. He felt that bringing these gifts was a bit too pathetic.

Caspian walked out of the hall and furrowed his brows when he saw Kate's smiley face. He always felt

that she had ill intentions.

"Dad! Please come in quickly," Caspian said, smiling at Carl.

When Kate saw this scene, she couldn't contain her anger. Caspian was ignoring her!

However, Kate didn't consider herself an outsider. When she saw Sherry, she rushed over.

"Sherry, it's been a few days, and I missed you so much!" Kate warmly said as she grasped Sherry's

hands tightly.

"Why did you come all of a sudden? And with gifts at that. You're too kind," Sherry said with a smile.

No matter what Caspian did, she still had to maintain a facade as an elder.

"Dad, why the sudden visit? Is something wrong?" Willow asked once she came out.

She knew Kate's personality very well.
