Chapter 188 The End Of A Werewolf
It is in pure shock that I look over to the man that I called a friend, that I now believe of being a ruthless killer that just ended the lives of his entire family and his friends, the people that counted on him for his protection.
But as we find ourselves staring off at a battle of words, there is a scent so unmistakable that not one of our senses misses the brisk breeze that carries it through the air.
With only but one nod, he looks at me, then just as soon as this man stood next to me, he morphs into his true form in a spectacular display of something so raw and pure to earth. His silver coat and claws sharper than any Vampire would ever see. Majestic and beautiful. But there is one thing that does not make him a beautiful creature to admire, that is the hint of a ruthless beast that is held within his eyes.
With a deep howl from the depths of his chest, in less than a wink of a second, he is gone.
Sam looks at me rather bewildered and points in the direction to where the mutt has just left, “Where the hell is he going?”
“That, my friend, that was Mirabelle.”
Sam throws his hands in the air, and from underneath his breath, he starts calling me words that I have never thought would leave such a young mouth, yet he gathers his thoughts, and then he continues, “Who the hell is Mirabelle?”
“She is, well, let us say; she was the Alpha female of the pack. But, and this depends on whom you ask, it is said that our dear Alpha mutt caught his beloved doing, well, whichever way you want to call it, but she was caught with another wolf in the pack, and instead of kicking him out, he told her to leave as per what he said it was not the first time that this had happened.”
“Ah,” Roberto comes from behind me and has that goddamn stupid smirk on his face, “Is this one of those scorned female things?”
Wanting to prove his very point, our dear Winchester boy, Dean, steps forward and quite Victorious smiles at Roberto, “Yes, now that is a woman scorned, and I am going to guess that she is the one that has caused all this damage.”
“Yes,” I agree, “But what is this that the mutt says that he has blackouts?”
Then much to my horror, Sam nods his head over to what should have been the very obvious from the start, “That my dear Lucas, that is what is causing you friend, the mutt, that is what is causing his blackouts.”
With that, my heart sinks deep, and it feels as if I have been betrayed, yet, it is the man’s own choice that he makes with his life. Now, as a Vampire, it truly has no effect on you, but since that goddamn stupid mutt is still human, too, he can fully feel the effects of anything that he so wishes to consume.
But that is no longer my concern; I hold no more faith nor respect for the once dear Werewolf that I considered to be a friend and a brother. The sad fact is that you need not to do a lot to break my trust, and once you find that it is broken, I shall cut you off like the plague that you have become in my life.
I have no desire to feel sorry for one that carries him in such a way that he blackouts out, for he cannot control himself anymore.
And with that thought said, we gather ourselves and set out the next plan into motion, “So, where do we go from here? Sam, will this mutt come back, or shall he continue until he has found his old mate?”
“My guess is that he will try to kill her, but in the condition he is, she will be the one that will finish him off.”
“Very true, but my problem is that this woman, this monster, she has slaughtered many to get the attention of a man she obviously hates to such a degree.” I pause for a brief moment before I continue with a clear set in mind, “I shall not let her live. I trust that you have enough silver bullets for the killing of two mutts?”
In complete horror, Roberto looks at me; I only but wave him off as I stand firm, “I shall not stand for his behavior. His recklessness has led to the deaths of many. As with a Vampire, the man shall face the ultimate punishment.”
With that, Roberto steps back once again, though I can see the burning question on his face, and not wanting to say a word, yet wanting to be the voice of reason, he speaks, “Are you going to be the one that shall take the life of a friend?”
“My dear Roberto, I have done this far more many times than you shall think. So, my answer to your question is yes.”
“But,” he continues to press forward, “Do you not think that this is somewhat unreasonable?”
“You, even though you are my brother, you shall know well not to question the decisions that I make. Now it shall be final; the mutt shall die today.” With utmost irritation and great anger, I spin on my heels and walk in the direction that the ugly beast has disappeared in. I know that he shall not be able to carry himself far with his wounds.
And that is exactly what I find not so far down the road that carries forward deep into the forest. On the side next to a rather large yet old tree, I find the Werewolf where he is busy trying to nurse his wounds. I can honestly say that he is not going to live long enough to see the death of his dear Luna. Now the question begs, do I take his life, or do I let the man suffer and die?Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
Well, my wrath shall be firm. He has broken the treaty, he has made a spectacle of himself, but most of all, his recklessness has caused the lives of many that did not deserve to die. And so my decision is made.
With that, the rest of the group comes up from behind me; Sam is the first to step forward with a Colt that has been loaded with silver bullets. As he looks over at me, I can see that there are so many questions in his eyes, yet he knows not to ask. What he does understand is that there is the need for a man like me to make a decision that shall haunt him for the rest of his life.
So from the other side comes our dear old Dean, the Winchester boy, firm and confident; he stands next to me, “Are you sure you want to do this, Lucas? I don’t mind putting a bullet into his man’s chest, for I do get the point of loyalty, but my bigger concern is that you will become bitter and turn into the very thing that his mate has become.”
“Then all the more reason. Now let us get this done, for I have my own angry wife waiting for me at home.”
And with great hesitation still, Sam hands me his gun while I step forward to face this goddamn mutt that has become nothing but a drunkard. Did the man for one second think that I would not figure out the reasons for his blackouts? Well, it just proves once again that he is a liar.
So staring into his hazel eyes, I make my resolve…I shall not falter…I shall not fear. My rule is law, and there are certain things this Vampire Master shall simply not stand for.
And stand is my ground…firm… I slowly raise my hand and point the barrel at the mutt’s chest that has already been riddled by flesh torn to pieces.
Yet, just as I am about to flick that trigger…
