Chapter 220 Back To Haunt You
They say that you get served what you deserve, that the stone you throw today might be the one you trip over tomorrow. I have just stumbled over my rock. If I thought that my lifestyle would never come and slap me in the face, I was a complete fool. Here I am, tied up to a chair with two Vampires staring at me, each wanting to get their revenge on their own way.
Should I have seen this coming?
See, once again, it had come to my very questionable lifestyle when I was only but a very young Vampire. I was very foolish then and spent my nights in bars and brothels, enjoying the sin that the nightlight offered to a great extent. Between the woman and the constant flow of expensive whiskey, I created havoc wherever I went. And this is where I met Lenora, so of course, we got really close, and we ended sharing a bed more often than I should have probably done for a man that was not in it for the long run.
But ya, the woman had me for a fool for the whole time, I believe every single word that she said. Then one day, I caught her with another man and immediately threw her out.
Well, I was wrong if I thought that I would never see her again.
But the question begs… though before I can even get there, she steps closer.
“I have been waiting for this day ever since that day you threw me out.”
“I should have kicked your ass on your way out, but it seems today I might get another chance.”
“I am glad you think you are going to get loose.”
“I do not think, I know,” I say with a rather big smirk on her face. Then much to her annoyance, I ask, “What is your name again? Leonora”
“Try again.”
“Fuck I know it was with an L. The sex must have been terrible.”
Her face drops, now if it is real or fake, it truly does not care, but yet, “I thought what we had was special.”
“Well, you thought wrong.”
“And I guess your little whore is special?”
And god, she should not have said that. “Yes, she is special, and you, well, you are the only whore around here.”
“The only whore that has a dagger pointed at your face.”
“Oh please,” I laugh at her from deep in my chest. “I don’t think you know how to use that thing.”
“Why would I point it at you if I did not?”
She fumbles with the dagger, and after much effort to gain control, she says, “I am going to give you two choices.”
“I think I am about to have a good laugh, but let us hear it then.”
“You dump your precious beloved and come with me.”
“Why the fuck would I come with you?”
“If you don’t, then we kill her.”
Yes, she is seriously crazy, but let me humor her, “And your other choice?”
“You come with us, and we do not kill you and your dear Damien and Lilith.”
“Did your clever ass come up with that by yourself?”
“Either way,” she says. “I am still going to have you.”
“I would rather die than even touch you. You are crazy.”
“You do not mean it; you know we had something special.”
“Lenora, the only special we had together was the special edition whiskey we drank.”
Just when I thought that this woman couldn’t get any crazier, I was wrong. Maybe I should have known that crossing a psycho bitch would come and bite me in the ass one day.
“I am surprised that you even remember my name.”Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
“It is not every day I throw a woman out.”
“I find it hard to believe.”
“Maybe you are the only one that has gone all psycho on me,” I say rather bravely as she steps closer with the dagger in her hand. “And I seem to have been right; you have lost way too many of those marbles you got.”
“We will see who is the one that will be losing something.”
“So what now?” I ask. “You are going to keep me tied to this chair. Or did you not think past your first brilliant idea. I hate to tell you this, but Vladimir is not one of the brightest.”
“I don’t need him; I have these two too.”
“Which one? The one that has been checking his manicure for the past ten minutes. Or the other one that is munching on what seems to be some leftovers.”
She looks to her back and, very frustrated, realizes what I say is true. “For fuck sakes. Can you idiots stop your bullshit and keep your fucking eyes on him.”
“It seems Vladimir cannot turn decent Vampires these days. Then again, if I know him well enough, he would probably drop those two just for the thrill of the kill.”
“This would be so much easier if you just give in.”
“You have a better chance of growing a pair of wings, which you are going to need when I get loose from here.”
Just then, Vladimir steps forward and starts waving his dagger in front of me, “Just end the asshole; his voice is starting to annoy him.”
“Just watch those two damn idiot Vampires of yours,” Lenora asks him. “I don’t need them fucking my plans up here.”
“Don’t worry; I know just how to take care of them.”
I only but shake my head at these two Vampires in front of me, “I really hate to be the one to say that I told you so. Unless it was your plan from the start.”
Then she knocks me with the biggest one of all, “If I did not love you so much, I would have ended you a long time ago. Since the day that you threw me out like a dirty old rag, I have been watching you, waiting for this day to finally come.”
Now, this has just rendered me quiet; I am starting to think what my chances are in getting out of here alive. She is obviously completely insane. But I believe that you should not waste my words on people that deserve my silence. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can say is nothing at all. But the question is, do I waste what could be my final breath to continue arguing with this woman, or do I keep quiet and hope that for some reason, Cassidy will walk through that door.
“Did the cat catch your tongue?” She asks as she snaps her finger in front of me to get my attention.
“I am trying not to breathe the same air as you. Just in case whatever disease you have is contagious, after all, look at the three idiots around you.”
“Is the idiot checking his manicure out again?”
“No, he is picking his fangs. You sure picked your three stooges very well.”
“Vladimir,” she calls for him. “You know what to do.”
Vladimir takes the two Vampires outside, and in no more than two minutes, I can hear them both growl in agony. It seems Vladimir is still the same old senseless killer.
As for me, what does my past say about me? Will my past define what happens to me? I do not think so; it will prepare me for whom I will become. Am I a bad man for what I did to this woman? I am not a bad man; I just lived a sinful lifestyle and hurt people in doing so. We all get a chance to do over, and my chance is Cassidy.
“Is your dumb ass thinking of your little whore again?” She yet again goes and pisses me off.
“If she is such a whore, why is she wearing my ring then?”
“Cause you are letting her believe that she is special, just like you did with me.”
“You wrong there; I am not letting her believe anything because she knows I love her.”
“Vladimir,” she calls for Vladimir that has just entered again. “Just for that shit comment, fucking beat his ass for me.”
Vladimir walks on over and hits the grip of the dagger into my face; it forces my head to fall back over, the corner of my mouth tears open.
I only but smile at him, “Is that the best you have got?”
He puts his dagger inside the back of his pants and hits me with a jab underneath my chin. My head snaps up again, leaving me dizzy.
“What use am I going to be if you knock me out,” I ask.
He smashes his fist into my jaw again.
“What are you doing?” Lenora asks Vladimir.
“Teaching him a lesson.”
His fist hits the left of my cheek; my neck snaps right. His fist hits my right cheek, my neck snaps left. Then my left again, then my right again. My face hurts, and my eyes are swelling shut. He jabs me with so much force, my head completely shifts up, and my neck goes backward.
Everything becomes black.
