Chapter 503
Chapter 503
From then, wherever Allison went, Daisy would follow, unabashed and unapologetic.
Daisy laughed, sipping her coffee. “Do you still remember how we became friends in our sophomore
year of high school?”
Allison naturally remembered. “Yeah, that time, you needed to run a 10K, but your period started. Iran
for you and ended up attracting a clingy friend.”
Back then, Allison was headstrong and a bit of a loner, and always did things on her own. Daisy
became her friend, the only one she had in class. In the blink of an eye, so many years had passed.
Daisy exhaled deeply. “Allison, I’m moving in with the Boswell family tomorrow.”
She’d put it off, but in the end, she’d given in to Mina.
Allison’s pupils shifted slightly.
Daisy wore a bitter smile. “I made a mistake.”
Allison reached out, gripping her fingers.
Daisy held back the sting in her eyes, forcing a smile. “I think I won’t make mistakes in the future, you
know? Frances is a good man. I don’t know if I like him or if it’s just some illusion, but I don’t want to
hurt him, and I certainly don’t want to be his executioner.”
But Mina had a grip as strong as a vice. Crushing Daisy and crushing Santos Inc. was like swatting
flies for her. Faced with such a choice, no one would refuse Mina.
That night, they decided to visit the night market on the street where they went to high school. The
night market was bustling. When they were in high school, there were many vendors selling a variety of
food. It was a gathering place for people to grab a late-night snack. Each bite cost around ten bucks, a
characteristic of the place.
Directly north of the night market, a tall building twinkled with luxurious lights, the Red Jack Club: It was
another world, where you couldn’t even get in without spending a fortune. Allison stared at the distant
skyscraper, lost in thought.
“A deluxe version of Takoyaki for 25 bucks a plate. I didn’t expect such a popular street food here.
They’re quite generous with the fillings.”
Allison smelled the aroma and took it. “Are you treating me to this, Daisy?”
With a hearty slap on her chest, Daisy pointed to the street full of food stalls. “Pick anything you want.”
Allison laughed. “Then, thanks for your generosity, Ms. Daisy!”
The two seemed to have returned to their high school days. Every weekend, Daisy would take Allison
here, and always treat her. Allison had a small appetite and didn’t eat much, so they would end up
carrying seven or eight snack bags.
Those happy times would never return. Each of them had to face different challenges and different
lives.
Allison returned to the Powell Estate. After closing the door, she went to the bathroom, took a shower,
and when she came out, she saw a missed call on her phone from ten minutes ago. It was Lucian’s
number. She immediately returned his call.
“Are you home?”
“Yeah.”
“I’ll be there in 10 minutes.”
“Okay
The short conversation ended. Allison put down her phone and started drying her hair. She walked out
of the bathroom and saw her mint green sundress lying on the chair.
Her hair was half-dry. On a whim, she changed into the dress, looking at the figure in the mirror. The
curves of her body were highlighted to the extreme. Her half-dry dark hair naturally curled on her
shoulders.
Just as she was about to check her phone to see how much longer Lucian would be, a “click” sound
rang out, and the lights in the room suddenly went out. In the next moment, a hot body pressed up
against her, and a familiar scent filled her nostrils.
Lucian’s voice was slightly hoarse, carrying a heavy hint of longing and lust. “I’ve missed you.”Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
