Don’t Marry Him
I couldn’t answer Rozzean’s question when suddenly my cellphone, which I was holding, rang. I saw Thes’s name on the screen.
“H-Hello?”
“I’m here on the third floor, Tangi. I am near. Oh, I’m sure Rozzean is here later. When I see that guy, only his eyes will be scratch-free!”
I quickly glanced at Rozzean in front of me upon hearing Thes’s words.
“H-Hold on, Thes!” I said and ended the call. I grabbed Rozzean’s hand and quickly closed the door to my room.
“Thaliana-”
I hushed him and covered Rozzean’s mouth when he tried to speak.
“Keep quiet!” I whispered softly. I looked for a place to hide him before Thes arrived.
But I couldn’t find anything! The closet was too small, and he wouldn’t fit there!
When I heard a knock on the door and heard my friend’s voice, I gasped. Where could I hide Rozzean now?!
“Tangi! I’m here!” Thes said outside the door. I could hear her clearly. Rozzean and I looked at each other, and I covered his mouth.
“Where should I hide you?!” I whispered.
I looked at the bathroom. I quickly pulled Rozzean and pushed him inside. I closed the bathroom door and then went back to Thes. I took a deep breath and opened the door for her.
“You took so long,” she said, taking a seat on the bed. Her eyes scanned my room.
“I-I was in the bathroom.”
I’m extremely nervous. Rozzean was just in my bathroom!
“W-Where’s your room?” I asked Thes.
She reclined on my bed.
“Over there on the second floor. I asked if I could stay here, but they said it’s not allowed for two people to share a room unless they’re married or in a relationship.”
Thank God!
“T-Thes, why don’t you go to your room now and change? The party is just an hour away.”
My eyes kept darting between the bathroom and Thes, who was lying on my bed while looking at her phone. I was incredibly nervous.
“Just a moment, 5 minutes. You seem unhappy that I’m here! I came all the way to visit you! I’m such a supportive friend! I was really worried about you because of what you told me! Oh, when I see Rozzean, I’m telling you I’ll kick him, Tangi!”
My eyes widened, I’m sure Rozzean can hear what we’re talking about!
“T-Thes, your voice is loud. Someone might hear you.”
“And who? We’re the only ones here, and even if someone else hears, I don’t care. That guy is so annoying! What does he think of you? After hurting you so much, he thinks he can just come back to you right away?! Come on, Tangi, think about it! I saw how much you were hurt and cried!”
I was getting more nervous. Thes wouldn’t stop talking, and I kept glancing at the bathroom door, fearing that Rozzean might come out at any moment.
“We were all worried when you had the accident! And who is to blame for all that happened to you? Rozzean! He’s so heartless, asking for your forgiveness and then immediately replacing you! What a jerk! I know many good guys, Tangi, I’ll introduce you to them!”
I didn’t know how to silence Thes. I kept looking at the bathroom door, fearing that it might suddenly open and Rozzean would emerge.
“It’s so irritating, Tangi. And now he’s trying to show you that he still loves you, but he won’t leave Klari’s side. What is this? A game?”
“T-Thes, calm down.”
“How can I calm down? Because of that one mistake, you were treated like trash. I’m hurt for you, Tangi. I heard how you tried to seek that man’s forgiveness. You were hurt not just emotionally but physically. You’re one of those people who shouldn’t be hurt so much, but because of one mistake, this is happening.”
Thes stood up, looking serious.
She held my hands.
“I know you’re trying to forget him, and I’m sure it’s hard, but you can do it. There are better men than him, Tangi, and you’ll find them. Someone who understands you, and love will prevail over anger.”
She patted my shoulder, “Okay, I’ll go to my room now, I’ll come back here, and we’ll go to the venue together.”
I nodded slowly at Thes. She walked out of my room. When the door closed, the bathroom door opened, and I felt Rozzean walking towards me.Exclusive © material by Nô(/v)elDrama.Org.
“I’m not looking at him. I took a deep breath to say just one word.
“Leave.”
“Thaliana…”
“Did you hear everything that my best friend said? I am moving on, Rozzean. I’m trying to forget you. It’s hard, but I know I can do it. I don’t want this anymore. Why are you still here? Why are you getting closer?”
I stared at him straight in the eyes. When he stepped towards me, I stepped back. I don’t want to be close to him anymore.
“Stop!”
“Last night–”
“Last night, I was so drunk! If I didn’t get too drunk, that wouldn’t have happened!” I angrily looked at him.
I saw the pain in his eyes, but it quickly turned into seriousness. He approached me and held me by my waist.
“Come on! Let me go!”
“Cut your engagement with Luther. Don’t marry him.”
My hands pushing him stopped on his chest. He wants me to break off the engagement and he’s always with Klari? What does he want? The two of us?!
‘Thaliana–”
I slapped him. Rozzean’s face turned from the force of it. Even my palm hurt.
“I tried talking to you and asked for your forgiveness. I made a mistake, Rozzean, but it was too much. Your anger is too much. Isn’t what I did unforgivable? And when I decided to stop because I was hurting so much and realized that it’s enough, here you are, disturbing me.”
I remembered my dad and their connection to each other.
“Are you doing all of this because of my Dad?”
Rozzean averted his eyes from me. That alone was an answer.
And i-it fckng hurts so badly.
