Chapter 125
Chapter 125
Ivy had intended to go on a ski trip with Windy and Agatha, but she was repeatedly interrupted by Vince. He desired her participation in an adventure variety show in which he was producing and performing. Ivy was uninterested because she was having the time of her life and didn’t want to complicate things for herself. Additionally, she was never one to willingly place herself in difficult situations! On the other hand, Vince came hounding at the Morgan Mansion’s door repeatedly, so frequently that he was practically living there. Leo and Sebastian were irritated by Vince’s persistence and urged Ivy to participate in the show simply. Sebastian even loaned Ivy his crew, which included an assistant, a make-up artist, and a driver, so that she would not have to worry about anything. Ivy was leaning back in a rocking chair at the time, an umbrella shading her from the hot sun. Ivy closed her eyes and enjoyed the warm breeze and pleasant weather. Demi, the make-up assistant, brought out the pastries and cakes that Mr. Santos had baked especially for Ivy. Ivy nibbled on a small piece of pastry, taking small bites to savor the flavor. She appeared to be at ease. Vince, who had rushed over, nearly fainted with exasperation upon seeing this scene. He ran over to Ivy, catching his breath in the process. “Ivy! We’re not here for a vacation; we’re here for an adventure!” When Ivy heard his obnoxious voice, she opened her eyes and said, sluggishly, “I know. The shooting has not even begun!” Vince sat down beside Ivy, his face a little listless. “The remaining guests will arrive shortly. Ivy, if my show is canceled after the first episode, I will be forced to return home and work an office job.” Ivy became more serious when she noticed Vince’s disheveled expression. “Fine. Refrain from being such a Debbie Downer!”
Vince sat there, gulping those delicate pastries down. Ivy recognized the situation and desired to speak, but Vince raised his eyes at her with a serious expression. “Ivy, if I hadn’t dragged you into this, my second uncle would have annihilated my show. If I am unable to gain fans from this episode, there will be no subsequent ones.” ‘Awesome!’ Ivy deemed. Of course, Ivy did not say it aloud due to Flint and Mirasol’s presence. “Are these the guests you invited?” Ivy asked. Although Flint had gained popularity in recent years, he was still not considered a big-name actor. Vince’s voice was lowered. “Well, given my financial constraints, that is the best I can do.” Ivy gave him a dubious smile. “You’re relying on my scandal with Flint, huh?” Otherwise, there were a plethora of options available. Why would he choose an actor who was previously involved in a scandal with her? Vince gave Ivy a wink. “Do not fear; I will never do anything to harm your reputation.” Flint and Mirasol had already arrived in front of them at that point. Initially, Vince had no intention of inviting Mirasol, but she had recently won the most promising newbie award alongside Flint, and Vince couldn’t pass up this opportunity. Mirasol had been in show business for a long period, but it was only in the last two years that she gained prominence. Given that having Ivy as the show’s sole female guest would be inappropriate, Vince chose Mirasol. Flint approached Vince and hugged him before shaking hands with Ivy. They were all acquainted. Mirasol, likewise, greeted them courteously. Following the exchange of pleasantries, everyone went about their preparations. When Ivy turned around, she felt a menacing glare directed at her, but upon returning her gaze, she saw Flint and Mirasol laughing together.
‘Was I being overly suspicious?’ Apart from them, they were joined by an independent professional explorer, such as Vince. Brad Cooper was a burly, handsome man of mixed racial origin. Along with meeting the show’s requirements, no one had a script, as this adventure was intended to be spontaneous. They were divided into two teams, but their final destination was the same. Additionally, neither team had a designated captain. Each participant was given a map with a designated checkpoint at which they were required to complete a challenge. They could freely exchange a teammate after completing the challenge. The initial game. Ivy had no idea she and Mirasol would receive the same map. ‘What a haunting experience!’ Ivy thought. Mirasol appeared to be surprised as well, but because filming could not be halted, she was unable to withdraw. Additionally, it was live-streamed! The three men were overjoyed with the outcome. They believed they would be able to win this round without the assistance of a woman. Ivy remained silent. In any case, her objective was to pass the checkpoint simply. She couldn’t care less if she won or lost. It was unfortunate that their assistants were unable to accompany them during the shooting. Only the cameraman was present to film, and he refused to assist. Ivy took the tools and backpack provided and then took the map and left the guys behind. She bowed her head and concentrated on the route. A mountain path and a water route were available. Ivy and Mirasol obtained the mountain path map. Mirasol followed Ivy. She regarded Ivy’s back with unmistakable envy. She had been in show business for years but was only invited to participate in this variety show after winning the award for the most promising actress. Additionally, she received that award solely as a result of her backer pulling some strings. Otherwise, Mirasol would remain a D-lister indefinitely. Ivy, on the other hand, commanded great. industry, she was more popular than any female celebrity. Mirasol was lost in her thoughts when she caught a glimpse of the cameraman’s lens aimed at her out of the corner of her eye. Mirasol’s expression shifted instantly from nervous to expectant as she quickly followed Ivy’s pace. “Do you understand this map, Ms. Morgan?” Ivy turned around and greeted her with a smile. “You may address me as Ivy. The map isn’t very well marked, but I believe we’re heading in the right direction. Additionally, there is only one path here. I don’t believe the program team will lead us astray, right?” Mirasol’s eyes flitted open and closed. She laughed casually. “Certainly, Ms. Ivy. I’ll simply follow your example. Generally, I enjoy outdoor sports quite a bit. I’m overjoyed to be a part of this program. It has the feel of a home.” Ivy was taken aback. Ivy was initially baffled as to why Mirasol would say such a thing out of the blue, but she suddenly understood when she noticed the camera. “Do you enjoy this type of adventure, Ms. Ivy?” Mirasol inquired. Ivy took the lead. Her eyes glowed with annoyance as she considered, ‘Are we here to chat or explore?’ “I suppose it’s fine,” Ivy replied curtly. She would occasionally glance down at the map. She did not wish to continue conversing with Mirasol. Mirasol was completely unaware of Ivy’s impatience. What would keep viewers interested in a show if there was no drama? If Mirasol’s performance is mediocre, she is unlikely to appear on camera again. As a result, Mirasol was racking her brain for some sensitive and trending topics to garner more followers. “Did you join this program because of Vince, Ms. Ivy? You both escaped the island tribe together, so you must have extremely strong feelings for one another, right?” Ivy’s brows were furrowed slightly.
Mirasol’s words were ambiguous. ‘What does she mean when she speaks of deep feelings? What sort of emotions?’ Ivy would have silenced Mirasol by now if it weren’t for the camera. ‘Does this lady believe I’m a fool?’ Ivy accelerated her pace, wishing to appear as if she had missed Mirasol’s question. Mirasol unexpectedly caught up with her. Her eyes moved when she noticed Ivy was silent. She appeared to be a little reserved. “Are you upset, Ms. Ivy? I apologize. I was unaware that you had not made it public.” Ivy inhaled deeply. ‘This little two-faced bitch should not have won the award for the most promising actress. She should have won the award for best director instead!’ Mirasol is truly capable of directing and performing an entire one-person show on her own.
