Chapter 156
Chapter 156
Ivy returned her gaze to Wyatt and rolled her eyes. “What does it matter to you?” Holding his breath, Wyatt quickly returned to his normal state. He was used to it by this point. “I’m just curious. You are not required to inform me if you do not wish to.” His tone was a little irritated. The three people next to him were taken aback and nearly dropped their glasses. Ivy’s heart shook slightly. She immediately pursed her lips. ‘Can this son of a bitch behave normally for a change?!’ Pierce stepped in front of Ivy, preventing Wyatt from approaching her. Wyatt received a serious look from the little man, who blinked his clear sapphire eyes. “Old Mister, keep your distance from her!” Wyatt cocked his brow. He had no idea that the little boy who had given Ivy white chrysanthemums was Marco Seely’s son. That didn’t matter, though. It didn’t change the fact that he despises him. “Do you like my princess, Old Mister?” Pierce drew his arms together. His delicate features crinkled, and his sparkling eyes glared warily at Wyatt. When Wyatt looked at Ivy, he could tell he didn’t have good intentions. Wyatt pursed his lips and cast a downward glance at Pierce. “Yeah,” he said, staring longingly at Ivy’s body. He said one word softly and saw Ivy roll her eyes. Wyatt couldn’t help but laugh. ‘How adorable!’ Pierce grunted coldly and pretended to be an adult. “You’re so old, and you can’t compete with my princess, so you should give up!” Wyatt was frightened. ‘Old?! I make the decisions in the industry, and I’m one of the youngest people in the Forbes top ten. How dare this brat insult me?!’ Wyatt’s expression was complicated as he glanced at the youngster. Pierce yanked Ivy’s arm just as he was about to teach this brat a lesson. “Pretty lady, my daddy has invited us to come over. Let’s go check it out!” Pierce was ecstatic
because he wanted Ivy to stay away from Wyatt. Ivy looked to the side and noticed Marco nod, signaling her to come over. Pierce pulled over Ivy. Marco was opposed by the butler, who wanted to keep her out, and the Lewis father and son. When the butler saw Ivy, he had a complicated expression on his face, whereas Lewis’s had a smug look in their eyes. “Do you know these two people, Ms. Morgan?” Marco indicated the Lewis’. Ivy raised her glass with a smile. “Certainly. Mr. Lewis is a Morgan Corporation shareholder; this is his only son, Zion.” The butler babbled. “These two people’s identities are not forged. Ms. Morgan has also clarified it personally. Morgan Corporation, Mr. Seely, has met all of our requirements for this collaboration, so please take them into account.” After hearing this, Marco was unmoved, but his eyes sunken faintly. Ivy raised her brows and remained silent. “We are very serious about this collaboration, Mr. Seely. If you can sign with us, all conditions are up for negotiation,” Icarus said. Marco exuded a cold, intimidating aura. He took a breather and looked at the butler. “Can you tell me about your relationship with them?” Marco inquired calmly. The butler became immobile. Icarus Lewis explained quickly. “Although we’re not blood relatives, we’re practically brothers. It’s only because of his assistance that we’re able to meet you, Mr. Seely.” For a few seconds, Marco was deafeningly quiet. His cold, clear gaze swept over the butler’s face. “You should be aware of my ground rules. Get rid of them.” The butler appeared hesitant. “You should seriously consider Morgan Corporation, Mr. Seely.” “I’ll think about Morgan Corporation, but not through these two scumbags. In addition, I don’t need a butler like you to teach me how to do things.” Marco’s eyes were calm and emotionless, not even a glimmer of a shiver.
For a brief moment, the atmosphere was still. The nearby mingling scene appeared to be separated by a barrier. Marco Seely’s disgust was palpable. Someone would have to pay for breaking his rules, whether it was a butler who had been with him for ten years. His words were blunt. No matter whom Marco chose to work with, Icarus Lewis was unqualified. Icarus’ expression changed several times. He begged the butler to help him. “Brother...” The butler frowned as he tried to persuade Icarus to take another chance. It made no sense that Ivy’s unexpected appearance had robbed his brother of this opportunity. “Would you please reconsider, Mr. Seely?” “My father has made it abundantly clear! Are you old and befuddled? Daddy will not associate with jerks! Daddy is fond of my pretty lady.” Pierce couldn’t help but sigh. His pretty little face’s features were scrunched up together. ‘This butler is as annoying as ever!’ Typically, the butler directed Pierce’s life and schoolwork and drove him away from his favorite teachers and classmates. He’d even deliver some self-righteous logic. Now, the butler wanted to bring these two jerks to harass his princess. Pierce still remembered these two jerks disparaging his princess in the lobby of Morgan Corporation. ‘I’m not going to forget this!’ Pierce rolled over and tugged on his father’s sleeve at the thought. He yanked on it, grumbling angrily. “The butler is so vexing! At the door, he bullied my princess. He yelled at her and refused to let her in. He’s so impolite!” Marco’s face became gloomy and cold. As he looked at the butler, his hawk-like eyes were razor- sharp. Marco expected his subordinates to have good manners. The butler trembled. Exclusive content © by Nô(v)el/Dr/ama.Org.
“N-No… No, I didn’t. You can’t talk nonsense, young Master!” “Why should I falsely accuse you?” Pierce snorted and puffed up like a pufferfish to express his rage. The butler could feel the chill emanating from Marco’s body and dared not even look him in the eyes. He began to resent the fact that he had brought Icarus over with him. He reasoned that because he had been by Marco’s side for so long, Marco trusted him and would consider his suggestions. However, he was struck by a bone-chilling cold and couldn’t help but shiver. He’d forgotten what he was: a butler. Outsiders may have thought it honorable and admirable to be Marco Seely’s butler, but he was nothing more than a subordinate to Marco. “Mr. Seely, I really didn’t mean it,” the butler shivered. “I just noticed that Ms. Morgan was wearing Madam’s gown. I was worried and...” Marco’s gaze pierced him. A certain word had brushed up against his taboo. Even Pierce remained silent and fixed his gaze on Marco for a brief moment. Marco called out to the bodyguards hiding in the shadows in the next split second. “Throw them out,” he said. Marco gave the pale-faced butler an emotionless stare. “From now on, you will have nothing to do with the Seely family. You’d better get out of here before I decide to pursue this because you broke my rules.” The butler’s blood drained from his face from fear. The bodyguards next to him had already moved forward before he could finish his sentence. One of them dragged him out while the other covered his mouth. Icarus and Zion Lewis, the remaining people, were also driven out separately. For a few seconds, Marco was deafeningly quiet. His gloomy expression gradually faded. He smiled as he turned around and returned his gaze to Ivy. “I apologize, Ms. Morgan. I should not have let you hear everything.” Ivy smiled and nodded, expressing her understanding. “It’s fine, but is this dress...”
