The Billionaire's Regret

Chapter 161

Chapter 161

Ivy and Windy couldn’t bear looking at the massive fish and whales swimming around, so they searched for a quiet place to sit and drink coffee. The aquarium was deafeningly quiet. The staff served the two distinguished ladies from the side, fearful that the coffee they provided would not satisfy them. Ivy looked around the room. “Do you mean there aren’t any fish in this area?” The aquarist on the other side of the pool came to a halt. “You’re right, Ms. Morgan. The mantis shrimp exhibit is here. This exhibit typically has fewer visitors because it is not a rare species. Would you like to look?” Mantis shrimp? Ivy nodded, meeting the aquarist’s eager gaze. She preferred eating them and overlooking them. The aquarist turned off all of the surrounding lights and the unique elements above on the ground, and the walls were immediately illuminated with blue light. The light was dim and faint, giving the impression of being deep underwater. Ivy noticed a lot of shrimp swimming around inside when she got a closer look. It was a mantis shrimp, as it turned out. In contrast to those served on plates, the mantis shrimps swimming in the tank seemed very cute. Their sizes differed because they belonged to different species. Some were in black and white and, despite their simplicity, appeared to be mesmerizing. Some were green with a red tinge, with vibrant colors on their tails and various patterns on their bodies. They swam in the gravel-filled seabed, their bony frames gliding through the vast and limitless sea. The moment the lights went out, Ivy and Windy felt like they were on the seafloor. The darkness made it impossible for them to see the wall in front of them. The sea’s environment was all around them, whether above, below, or beside them. The corridor they’d just entered had been transformed into an underwater tunnel. The three-dimensional environment took them by surprise. Above them, floats of seaweed and

coral. They were surrounded by the dark and ominous sound of seawater surging, bringing the ocean’s mysteries with it. With the aid of technology, everything appeared to be well-defined. It was as if the vast and deep seabed had no boundaries. “How about a mantis shrimp show?” Windy couldn’t hold back his excitement. Right away, the aquarist launched into his pre-rehearsed introduction. “The mantis shrimp is a predatory shrimp from the Mesozoic Jurassic period.” Ivy was surprised and blurted out, “Are they all edible?” The aquarist’s gaze was drawn to the two young ladies. The sides of his mouth twitched as he forced a smile. “If they’re in good condition.” He would have answered yes if someone else had asked. If someone approached him and inquired, he would promptly dismiss them. Ivy and Windy, on the other hand, were distinguished guests. The aquarist sat and reflected. ‘Ignore it. ‘How sad for my mantis shrimps!’ please bear with me. They exchanged a look and a smile. There had been an unspoken agreement. They were both certain of what they would eat for lunch today. “By the way, naming rights for pets can be purchased here. You can keep one as a pet and name it. We’ll be in charge of protecting it and raising it here. You are welcome to visit your pet whenever you want.” That was a fascinating read. Ivy waved to one of the mantis shrimps. It had a beautiful, straight body and was brightly colored. It seemed graceful and adorable. “Then I’d like this baby,” she says. “Yes, Ms. Morgan. This rare Mariana Trench species was purchased at a high cost. Do you want to name it?” Ivy said flatly, “Wyatt Reed.” The aquarist’s hand trembled a little. He was about to toss the expensive remote control. Windy couldn’t stop laughing as she patted Ivy on the back.

“What do you mean, baby? Don’t you just want to eat his flesh and drink his blood? That’s a great nickname!” A tall, proud figure stood at the tunnel’s entrance. His eyes were dark and narrowed, but he had a relaxed and calm demeanor. When he heard this, he was irritated by Windy’s annoying laughter. ‘In their eyes, I’m a mantis shrimp?’ Windy laughed and leaned back in her chair. When she looked to the side and noticed that figure, her laughter halted. Wyatt moved slowly into the room. His attention was drawn to the back of Ivy. The aquarist took a step back. It was the first time their boss came to inspect their work! Ivy was utterly unaware that she was being approached from behind. “Steamed or spicy?” she inquired her pursed lips. Before Windy could say anything, Wyatt’s gentle and warm voice came from behind him. “Are you serious about devouring me?” Ivy’s body immediately stiffened. She turned around, surprised and irritated. “Why are you here?” “Are you happy to see me?” Wyatt smiled fondly at her. “Which part of me do you think is happy?” Wyatt took her time inspecting the mantis shrimp she’d chosen. “You used the word “baby” to describe me!” Even though it was only a mantis shrimp, it had the same name as him! He was, in a roundabout way, the mantis shrimp! Ivy had a frown on her face. “I meant the mantis shrimp.” Wyatt was unconcerned about what was going on around him. She had no intention of admitting it. Pierce was ecstatic as he stood alone in the aquarium, gazing at the treasures. He went out of his way to find the Pretty Lady, but he encountered that obnoxious and irritating man! He stomped over to Wyatt, frowning. “How did you get here?”

Wyatt was not looking forward to dealing with this obnoxious child. As he took Ivy’s hand in his own, Pierce smiled. His large eyes radiated innocence and naivete. “Pretty Lady, I’d like to buy the thirty-meter-long blue whale from the next exhibit and bring it to Italy. “What do you think?” Ivy made a smirking motion with her lips. Planes and ships would not reach the whale because it was so large. Was it meant to swim all the way to Italy by itself? Wyatt coldly snorted before Ivy could respond. “No.” Wyatt was uninterested in anyone who wasn’t Ivy. Pierce frowned, crossing his chubby little arms across his chest. “Who are you to say I won’t be able to afford it?” Nothing was too expensive for his father to buy! Wyatt gave him a sidelong look and a low laugh. “Because this is my aquarium!” Pierce’s sweet and lovable little face had been shocked before he became angry and conflicted. Ivy’s hand was yanked away from her by him. “Pretty Lady, let’s go!” “If you call me Big Brother, I’d be willing to sell it to you.” Wyatt appeared behind them and spoke to them in a lighthearted manner. Windy couldn’t stop the goosebumps from forming on her arms and legs as she looked at them from the side. Pierce’s train came to a halt. His jaw shook back and forth. His little face puckered up in frustration as he wrestled with this difficulty. He had to make the most difficult decision of his life! Ivy was feeling the same way. Pierce couldn’t handle it. The longer Wyatt stalled, the more irritated his expression became. Pierce’s decision had finally been made. He clenched his fists and bit his lower lip. His teeny-tiny body was tense. He locked his gaze on Wyatt with unwavering sapphire eyes. “No way!”

He’d instead give up his favorite blue whale than betray his principles. ‘Daddy always said that children should never lie,’ Pierce reflected. Windy and Ivy were giggling uncontrollably. This child was full of character! Windy’s demeanor abruptly changed. ‘Thank goodness I didn’t request that Pierce also call me Pretty Lady. Otherwise, like Wyatt, I’d be humiliated!’ The thought no longer amused Windy.NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
