The Ceo’s Convict Wife

Chapter 1277

Anyway, she got all the evidence against Harriet, and the Griffin family would definitely go after Harriet later. The day had come to avenge Nicholas, and she had nothing to regret.

Riley just lay down in the middle of the road without fear.

Zephyr, who was standing not far away, looked shocked.

He didn’t expect that she would agree to the bet!

And her purpose was to get this bracelet back.

At this moment, she looked fearless on the ground while he felt a cold sweat on his back as if goosebumps were creeping up all over his body.

He thought, “Is the bracelet Nicholas gave her so important that she’s willing to risk her life for it?”

His right hand holding the bracelet was trembling, and he looked very frightened!

He trembled when he saw the light of an approaching car in the distance.” Just as the car was getting closer to her, he instinctively rushed out and stretched out his arms to stop the car.

No! She couldn’t die!

He would never allow this to happen!

The driver immediately braked and stuck his head out of the window, yelling, “Are you crazy? Why are you suddenly stopped in the middle of the road? Do you have any idea how dangerous this is?”

However, Zephyr didn’t care about it at all because all he had in mind was Riley, who was lying on the ground!

“Are you out of your mind?” Zephyr turned around, pulled Riley up from the ground, and glared at her.

“Isn’t that what you told me to do? And I said yes to the bet.” Riley said, “Does that mean I won since you rushed out? If it doesn’t, just go away and let the game continue. I can do it again.”

“Do you want to die?” he said angrily.

“I want to live, but what I want more is the bracelet,” replied Riley. She looked very calm when she said this, as if she was talking about trivial affairs.

Zephyr made a fist with his right hand. He clutched the diamond bracelet so tightly that it hurt his palm.

“How important is Nicholas to you? Did you forget that you used to be my fiancée? How could you risk your life for a bracelet he gave you?” Zephyr growled lowly, and the jealousy in his heart seemed to burst through his chest.

“Nicholas could risk his life to save me, so why can’t I do the same thing for the bracelet he left to me? How dare you call me your fiancée, Zephyr? My fiance should believe me when everyone doesn’t, protect me when everyone bullies me, and help me out when I’m in despair. But what did you do?”

As she spoke, his face grew darker and darker.

“I never took you as my fiance, Zephyr. You’re just a beautiful illusion in my mind at that time,” said Riley, who used to imagine that he could always protect her and love her.

In the end, she realized that he was never the man she expected him to be.

“Illusion?” Zephyr murmured, looking much more haggard.

He suddenly gave his right hand away, and the bracelet in his hand fell to the ground.

Riley jumped towards the bracelet, grabbed it tightly, and held it to her chest, laughing with tears. She finally got it back.

However, her expression hurt him and made him not want to look at her again.

He thought, ‘Nicholas took her heart with merely a bracelet.

What about me? It seems that I’m nothing to her!’

Zephyr got back into the car, lowered his head, and looked at the palm of his right hand in a daze. There were marks left by the bracelet.

He thought, ‘What’s wrong with me? Do I have to be so out of control for Riley and a bracelet?

I wasn’t acting like myself just now!’

“Go back to the Scott residence,” Zephyr closed his eyes and said tiredly.

Just thinking about Riley made his head hurt!

Riley returned to her house. She carefully checked the bracelet and put back into her jewel case.

“Wait for me, Nicholas. After everything is settled, I’ll wear this bracelet and… And I’ll never take it off,” Riley murmured.

The trial would begin in two days. Riley asked Calvin to look for the evidence, and now with the Griffin family watching it, it was not easy for the Scott family to play any tricks.

This time, Harriet was going to pay for what she did many years ago!

What she didn’t know was that at this moment, in the study of the Scott residence, Zephyr was looking at some photos he received. They were photos of him and Riley meeting earlier today.

His expression in the photo was complicated. His eyes were full of disappointment, anger, and threat, but more of jealousy!

Yes, jealousy!

Anyone who looked at these photos would think that he was a man jealous of love!

Zephyr thought, ‘Was I jealous of Nicholas?

Or was I jealous of Riley’s love for Nicholas? After all, he had been dead for so many years, yet he was still so important to her!

And the reason why I was jealous was that I loved Riley!’

Although Zephyr never wanted to admit his feelings for Riley, the photos easily removed his mask and forced him to face his true feelings!

After a while, Zephyr’s phone rang. He said coldly, “I got the photos and I’ll buy them all. Don’t send them to anybody. If I see any of these photos again in the future, I’ll find you and let you know the consequence.”

“Sure. I promise you I won’t reveal these photos since you’re willing to pay for them, Mr. Scott,” the man said obsequiously.

The man who was speaking was just a random reporter. He ran into Riley earlier today and tried to make up some gossip with her photo, but he didn’t expect to see Zephyr, so he took photos of them together.

Now, Zephyr was willing to pay a lot of money for those photos, which was a windfall for him.

After a while, the reporter got the money. He smiled with satisfaction and deleted all the backups of these photos on the USB disk. Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

After all, he was dealing with Zephyr, who he couldn’t afford to fool.

However, while he was deleting the photos, he took a glance at them.
