Chapter 1369
She needed to further her professional knowledge in the upcoming years.
After the meeting was over, Jonathan headed over to Rosalie. “Why did you just shake your head? Is there a problem with your head?”
“No, I was just thinking about something,” said Rosalie.
He sat next to her and extended his hand to softly stroke her showy belly. She had been pregnant for more than five months.
“How’s the baby today?” he asked.
“It’s good. It has moved a few times.” The fetal movement had increased in frequency now that the fetus had grown bigger.
“I’ll go with you for the prenatal visit tomorrow.” Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.
“But didn’t you say you’d have an important meeting tomorrow?”
“Well, I just finished it a minute ago,” Jonathan said.
Only then did Rosalie know that he had managed to hold the meeting ahead of schedule. He always tried his best to accompany her to every prenatal visit.
Rosalie said, “You can take some rest tomorrow. I can have someone else’ go with me.”
Jonathan replied, “But I don’t want to miss any prenatal visits. I w know the condition of you and the baby.”
Rosalie looked at the man in slight puzzlement. Since when did his eyes become full of worries about her?
He had been worried about her. Since she was pregnant, his eyes were always full of anxiety and fear.
And she was the one who caused all of this. She insisted on keeping the baby, bringing him anxiety and fear.
“Jonathan, I’m sorry,” Rosalie murmured as she held his face with both hands, her fingertips brushing the corners of his eyes. “I’ve made you worried.”
“I’m willing to be concerned about you. I want you to be safe,” Jonathan remarked, slightly rubbing his cheeks against her palms.
“Everything will be fine.” She smiled and promised, “No matter what, I’ll always be by your side.”
He grinned as he softly closed his eyes, savoring the intimacy of the moment.
She stayed by his side. Her breath, her warmth, and everything about her made him so attached to her. Because of her, his once-empty heart began to slowly fill with love.
After recuperating from her injury, Hanna rejoined the crew, but there had been a significant change. Even the director was replaced, along with all the actors who had declined to film.
The crew members displayed much greater respect when they saw Hanna. They greeted her warmly, which was something Hanna struggled to get used to.
“What happened? Did anyone in the crew know that Calvin was my boyfriend?” Hanna managed to create a chance to ask Shelly in a low voice as she grabbed her hand.
“No, I haven’t told anyone in the crew about it,” Shelly replied.
“Why do people in the crew treat me this way?” Hanna asked puzzledly.
Shelly answered, “It has something to do with Calvin. Everyone beli that you have the support of high- ranking members of the Gunner Group because the one who took you away last time was from the Gunner Group. So how can they mistreat you?”
Hanna was taken aback at the thought that she had social connections too in others’ eyes.
“By the way, how is it going between you and Calvin?” Shelly asked curiously.
“Nothing new.” Anyway, Hanna was continuing to play his girlfriend. In the past, she used to play his girlfriend out of sympathy because she had experienced emotional agony herself and wanted to help him.
But gradually, Hanna grew appreciative and desired to repay him.
Perhaps she wouldn’t be able to stand here right now if it weren’t for Calvin.
“You can think about the possibility of making it real,” Shelly whispered. “So many people want the same opportunity as you the same opportunity as you have now, but they don’t have it. Why don’t you take advantage of playing his girlfriend and make it real?”
Hanna laughed. “Don’t say that again. Do you really think someone like him can fall in love easily?”
Hanna couldn’t help but think of the day he took her to a party, which made her more conscious of the fact that she and him truly came from different worlds.
Even though they were interacting right now, they would soon diverge, like two crossing lines.
“I simply want to carry out my role as his fake girlfriend without getting myself hurt. I won’t dwell on anything else because I am aware of how incompatible we are,” Hanna said.
Upon hearing that, Shelly suddenly felt bad for her friend and said, “That’s not true. Even if it was Calvin, you…”
“Well, I’m too old to dream. Shelly, I admitted that I had a crush on him. Not many women can’t resist such a man. I knew that he was not attracted to me. I was only his fictitious girlfriend, so he dispatched someone to the crew to save me.”
Hanna kept talking. Only in front of her friend would she say something so frankly, “I don’t want to make it real if it’s unrequited affection. Otherwise, I’ll be the only one who suffers in the end. So I don’t allow myself to fall in love with him.”
Hearing this, Shelly said guiltily, “I’m sorry!”
Shelly made her suggestion without giving it any thought. If Hanna did fall in love with Calvin as she suggested, but Calvin didn’t end up loving her back, Hanna would only have to go through heartbreak once more.
“What are you apologizing for? I know you just want me to start another relationship,” Hanna replied.
“Well, when you and Calvin are done, I’ll find a good man for you,” said Shelly.
Hanna smiled at her friend’s words.
After finishing her work, Hanna went home by bus and was startled to see Lorin standing in front of her apartment building.
Lorin’s eyes lit up when he spotted her, and he instantly walked toward her. Obviously, he was waiting for her.
“You…came back,” Lorin said with a nervous expression. He came for her, but when he saw her, he couldn’t express himself, despite having so much to say.
Hanna said to him, “Lorin, are you here to look for me? I don’t think there is something between us for us to meet. I hope that we can try our best to avoid meeting each other in the future.”
