Chapter 127
Chapter 127
Cordelia faced Ronan's teasing gaze.
"I...I wasn't looking for you." Caught red-handed by Ronan, Cordelia felt a bit embarrassed. She was
wondering, other than Brooklyn, who else knew she was looking for him? How did he find out?
She turned her head away, unable to move due to the IV drip.
"Still hurts?" Ronan gently touched Cordelia's head, which was wrapped in bandages.
Only then did Cordelia realize the back of her head was throbbing with intense pain. It felt like there
was a hole in her head and the wind was blowing through it. On top of that, her stomach was growling.
"Hungry?" Ronan asked Cordelia.
Cordelia nodded.
"What do you want to eat?"
"I want..." Cordelia unintentionally looked into Ronan's dark gazes.
She recalled her high school days, when she had to attend self-study sessions every evening, facing
immense academic pressure that led to a hospitalization due to low blood sugar. During that time, her
dad had visited her and specially made her a taco, which was his signature dish.
It was the last taco Cordelia ever ate, and the taste was unforgettable.
"Tacos." Cordelia's voice softened.
Ronan called Janice, "She's hungry and wants a taco. Can you fix one and bring it over?"
After hanging up, Cordelia said, "Later, you can go home with Janice. I'll be fine on my own."
"Why play tough?" Ronan lightly flicked the IV tube. It seemed like he had already decided to stay the
night.
Janice came with the food and the requested taco.
While Cordelia was eating, Barney video called her.
"Della, did you just risk your life to save Ronan?" Barney seemed worried.
"It's not like that, grandpa..." Cordelia was about to argue, but then she thought that letting grandpa
know about her relationship with Ronan might not be a bad thing, so she didn't retort. "I didn't think too
much at that moment."
Grandpa chuckled, "Just tell Janice what you want to eat. She'll make it for you every day. No need to
rush to work."
Cordelia nodded.
Ronan asked Janice to go home first, and he was going to stay the night. The atmosphere between the
two of them was still tense due to their recent argument, which made the evening a bit awkward.
Around 1 am, Ronan fell asleep on the companion bed. Cordelia, who had been sleeping all day,
wasn't sleepy. Only the bedside lamp was on.
She was restless in bed because she needed to use the bathroom. But with the IV in her hand, it was
difficult for her to move. However, she didn't want to bother Ronan, partly because they had just had an
argument, and partly because it was just too awkward.
Cordelia struggled to get up from the bed, trying not to move the needle, then she carefully removed
the IV bag.
"What are you doing?" The sudden voice startled Cordelia.
Ronan was already up, he was tall and easily removed the IV bag.
"I...I need..." Cordelia suddenly didn't want to continue.
"Need to use the bathroom?" He asked.
Cordelia's face turned as red as an apple. Even though she had spent countless intimate moments with
him, she had never been this embarrassed. She never thought going to the bathroom could be an
issue.
"Yes." Cordelia admitted softly, with her head down.
Even a pretty girl had to face the awkwardness of physiological needs.
"Let's go." Ronan held the IV bag and accompanied Cordelia to the bathroom.
When it came time to undress, Cordelia's face turned as red as a ripe apple, "Turn around." NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
"Is there a part of your body I haven't seen?" Ronan said, reaching to help her undress.
His gesture reminded Cordelia of that day, his rudeness and assertiveness had left a deep
psychological scar. "Get lost!" Cordelia's angry gaze remained fixed on him, the injustice of that day still
fresh in her mind.
Cordelia stood there, unmoving, her gaze firm and unwavering as she glared at Ronan.
"Are you still mad at me?" Ronan asked her.
