The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 559

Chapter 559

As the trio were deep in conversation, a knock at the door announced the arrival of Ronan's driver.

"Ma'am, per Mr. Evans' instructions, I'm here to see what items you'd like to move. I'll take care of it for

you."

It was then that Cordelia's panic set in. She stood up, looking around at her belongings, deciding what

she could part with. She handed off the unnecessary items to Sean and Sally. That night, her place

was in utter disarray.

Before Cordelia knew it, she was off to Millstone, having enrolled at Millstone University. Everything felt

like a whirlwind, a dream almost.

Victoria showed up to see Cordelia, ostensibly to drop off some clothes for Janice. Ronan happened to

be home that day.

Cordelia's return brought the greatest joy to Callum, who was jumping around the house, visibly elated.

When Ronan saw Victoria, he excused himself upstairs, leaving space for Cordelia and Victoria to chat.

Janice tried on the clothes, and they fit perfectly. She was incredibly pleased. Even now, Janice

believed that Cordelia was too embarrassed to apologize directly and had brought Victoria as a

mediator. Unbeknownst to her, Victoria had her own motives; she wanted to be part of the family, and

this situation with Cordelia provided an opportunity for them to bond without awkwardness.

"Shoot Harold a message on Messenger, will you? Tell him I got his mom a dress," Victoria nudged

Cordelia.

"Why can't you send it yourself?"

"Don't be silly. I don't have his contact."

Cordelia thought to herself. She rarely initiated contact with Harold on Messenger, but maybe this could

be a way to mend fences.

Cordelia rolled her eyes at Victoria and typed out. [Hey Harold, I've just transferred to Millstone

College. Victoria picked up a dress for your mom, and she really likes it... and Victoria, too.]

Harold was probably busy with training, as he didn't respond until lunchtime with a brief message.

[Who's Victoria?]

[Vic is an OB-GYN. She used to be my doc, too.] Cordelia replied, avoiding the mention of their college

connection, wary of Harold being prejudiced against Victoria's age.

It wasn't until lunchtime that Ronan descended from upstairs.

Out of the blue, Victoria asked, "Have you two remarried yet?" C0ntent © 2024 (N/ô)velDrama.Org.

Cordelia glanced awkwardly at Ronan. "Not yet."

"If we are remarrying, when do we plan to do it?" Ronan looked at Cordelia.

"Uh... I haven't really thought about it." Cordelia hadn't considered it amidst the recent chaos.

"After lunch then?" Ronan queried.

"Yeah, that sounds good," Cordelia responded.

Ronan fetched their divorce certificate from upstairs and laid it on the coffee table, waiting for Cordelia

to finish her meal.

Unexpectedly, Petra burst in, her expression urgent.

Seeing Ronan and Cordelia's home for the first time, Petra was filled with discomfort. In the affluent

neighborhood of Millstone, the understated opulence was a reminder of what could have been hers if

she had pushed a little harder.

She pulled out the documents from her bag and handed them to Cordelia. Cordelia realized they were

important documents she hadn't thought of.

The truth was that the station had indeed contacted Petra. Ronan had left the child in her care, so the

station was informed and had called her about Tabitha.

So, she came to Cordelia's house to catch a glimpse and to coax Ronan to accompany her to

Birchwood Prison. She was always looking for excuses to be near Ronan.

"Is that so?" Cordelia asked.

"Why don't you go with Petra?" Cordelia suggested to Ronan. "We have plenty of time to talk about

remarriage."

Petra glanced sideways and saw the divorce certificate on the coffee table. So, they hadn't remarried

after all.
