Chapter 171 The Three

"We're just chatting casually," Steve took two steps forward before hooking his arm around Chris' neck leading him along but gestured towards Ranita with his hand behind his back. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

Who knew Dr. Pearson had such an immature side?

Ranita smiled slyly from the corner of her eye when suddenly she froze mid-step.

At the entrance were familiar faces that stung at her eyes; everyone from the Stuart family including Shannon who wore a white dress resembling that of royalty stood there too.

"Ranita! What are the odds we'd meet here too?" Shannon greeted Ranita with enthusiasm but glanced over at Chris and Steve saying, "Chris! You guys are here too? Did you come out to eat with Ranita?"

"I just got discharged today so Brendon suggested we celebrate together outside since there'll be more people making it livelier."

Shannon stood next to Brendon; their combination looked stunning especially since they were accompanied by the Stuart family members which made their group look complete as if they belonged together perfectly.

With indifference written all over face, Ranita glanced briefly at Shannon before saying, "We don't want to trouble anyone else. We've already reserved our seats."

"You're right, Ranita is absolutely correct. You enjoy your meal while we go ahead." Steve waved goodbye without any expression on his face then nodded slightly towards Amiya before turning around entering into a room.

They booked a private room for the three of them. Ranita remained silent, quietly drinking her water. Steve propped up his chin and spoke, "Do we need to find another restaurant?"

Chris nodded in agreement, "If you don't want to eat here, we can go somewhere else."

"Thank you, but it's okay," Ranita paused before continuing. "They can eat their food and we'll eat ours."

Ranita started off feeling a bit down but as they discussed work throughout dinner she put her emotions aside.

Overall, the atmosphere at the table was good until someone knocked on the door of their private room.

Shannon followed Brendon like a little bird with sweet smiles all over her face. "Sorry to bother you guys,' she said. "You don't mind if we join you, do you?"

Steve pushed his glasses up and calmly asked Shannon if she needed something from them.

"We just ran into each other and I wanted to come say hi," Shannon hesitated before adding with some sadness in her voice, "Steve, Chris, I tried making plans with both of you before but neither of you had time for me... I was really upset."

"Brendon... you're always so good to me!" Shannon complained pitifully yet still managed to sound boastful at the same time. Ranita felt annoyed listening to this conversation and even nauseous at times.

"I'm going to use the restroom!" Without saying anything else or acknowledging anyone else's presence in the room, Ranita quickly walked away towards the bathroom.

After having some lemon candy earlier that day she wasn't feeling too sick anymore but occasionally would feel uncomfortable again.

"Ugh!" She covered her mouth trying hard not throw up...

Suddenly, Holly's suspicious voice came from behind, "Ranita... is there something wrong with your health?"

Ranita jumped out of surprise then quickly composed herself without showing any expression on her face as she left without saying anything back or looking back at Holly who became angry after being ignored by Ranita.

"Move!" Ranita coldly stared at Holly while speaking, "I have nothing more to say, Miss Stuart."

"Haha!" Holly smirked, "Ranita! You look so pale... it's quite pathetic actually!"

Holly raised her chin triumphantly while saying, "But it makes sense though doesn't it? Seeing my brother together with Shannon must be hurting your heart right now!"
