The Killer Queen (Noella Briony)

Chapter 403

The entire Gallagher family was left speechless!

What did Tristan just say? Adopt Millie as a goddaughter?!

Every daughter in the Gallagher household was green with envy! If we're being honest, there was a chance Millie could have joined the Schnabel family even before Randy kicked the bucket. But if Tristan and his wife were planning to adopt her as their goddaughter, well, that changed everything!

Randy was flabbergasted, "Mr. Schnabel, are you sure you're not pulling our leg?"

"Of course not! Sienna and I have discussed it, and we think Millie is a wonderful girl. She's been a dear friend to our Noella for years. On one hand, we want to thank Millie for her company."

"On the other hand, we genuinely like the kid. To be honest, I was hoping Millie would become our daughter-in-law! But that's all down to fate, so for now, Millie will be our goddaughter!"

This was the solution Noella and Tristan came up with after much discussion. Adopting a goddaughter wasn't a big deal for the Schnabels, but for Millie, it was a game-changer! Whether Millie and the Schnabel son were fated to be together was another story, but at least she truly clicked with the Schnabel daughter!

At the very least, this made things official, even if it wasn't on paper. Who knows, maybe Millie really could end up marrying into the Schnabel family. Sienna thought it would also legitimize Millie's stay at the Schnabel residence. It didn't bother them, but they had to consider the girl's reputation!

If word got out that she was living with a man's family without any talk of marriage, it wouldn't sound good. Sienna chuckled, "Our boys are thick- skinned, but Millie's a good kid. We can't let people gossip about her. From now on, the Schnabel household is Millie's home, and we welcome our daughter back anytime!"

Millie had only just learned about this herself. Tears welled up in her eyes as she looked at Noella! She knew that in this world, only Noella would care so much for her thoughts!

Tristan beamed, "If you have no objections, Millie is officially our goddaughter. We'll hold the adoption ceremony after Noella and Palmer's engagement!"

Randy was stunned! The Schnabels weren't just serious; they were also planning an adoption ceremony for Millie? This was commitment!

"Of course, we have no objections! It's Millie's good fortune to be favored by Mr. Schnabel and his wife!" Randy's face was beaming, while the rest of the Gallagher family couldn't hide their sour expressions!

After announcing this, Tristan and Sienna got up to leave. "We won't intrude any longer. This is for the youngsters to discuss. Millie, if you ever need anything, just go to Noella and your... brother!"

Despite being alumni and peers, Jasper had skipped grades and was technically younger than Millie. This made Jasper Millie's little brother! Millie covered her mouth to hide her giggles, teasingly looking at Jasper, whose face was beet red, "Don't worry, I'll be sure to bother my dear Jasper, hehe."

Jasper felt like dying. It was all Tristan's fault for adopting godchildren willy-nilly!

Randy tried to persuade them to stay longer, but after hearing Tristan needed to check on Sexton, he let them go. After seeing them off, Randy looked at Millie with rare affection!

Christina snidely remarked, "Since when did Millie get to know Ms. Schnabel? And why didn't she tell us? It's like we're not even family."

Millie raised an eyebrow, "Back when you used to bully me, remember? You almost threw me into a manure pit. Too bad, if you had been the one thrown in, maybe you would've met a mentor too."

The Gallagher household fell silent. The Gallagher children's constant squabbles were something Randy tacitly allowed as part of a survival-of-the- fittest scheme. Still, bringing it up like this was bound to displease Randy!

"Millie! Why bring this up in front of guests?"

"Grandpa, it wasn't me who wanted to talk about it. Christina asked, didn't she? Besides, my mentor saw all of that happen. I couldn't very well pretend everything was fine, could I?"

Noella looked calmly at Randy. "Sorry, didn't realize she was your granddaughter when I gave her a whooping. No hard feelings, right?" Jasper chimed in, playing along, "Noella, how could you be so careless? Does your hand hurt? If I'd known sooner, I would've brought you to the Gallagher house to demand medical expenses!"

The Gallagher family was speechless. Noella had beaten up the Gallagher heiress and now they were talking about demanding medical expenses from them? Did they have no shame?

Jasper declared confidently, "Everyone knows our Noella the sweetest, wouldn't hurt a fly. How bad could her punch be? According to... Millie, Ms. Noella had quite a backup that day!"

"Who knows, maybe our Noella got the short end of the stick. How does the Gallagher family plan to settle this? If it were our Noella causing trouble, the Schnabel family would definitely take responsibility!"

Hearing his tone, there was not the slightest hint of belief that his sister was in the wrong.

Randy was taken aback for a moment, but quickly replaced his expression with a beaming smile.

"Mr. Gallagher, rest assured, it's not

just that having Ms. Schnabel take matters into her own hands was our family's mistake, but if that young lady offended Ms. Schnabel,at's our family who should be apologizing." ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

Millie, holding Noella's hand, said pitifully, "If it wasn't for my mentor saving me, I might have been dead by now!"

That was the truth. If Noella hadn't appeared out of nowhere, she might well have been pushing up daisies by now. Being able to sit here and match wits with Randy was all thanks to Noella's help along the way!

Noella patted her hand. Then turned to Randy, her lips curling into a slight smile. "Millie is family to me, as well as my apprentice. If anyone dares to bully her... even the old man shouldn't blame me."

The implication was clear: if Millie had a rough time with the Gallaghers, then the fate of the Gallagher family's heiress would serve as a warning!

At the dinner table now, there was

no place set for Ms. Noella. The one seated at Randy's right hand was Millie! Having brought back a member of the Schnabel family, her position had now surpassed that of her father, bringing her one step closer to where she wanted to be.

Randy might be laughing off on the surface, but inwardly he was in anguish! Mille's tactics could be said to be more ruthless than any of the Gallagher children. She directly reformed half of the Gallagher family's assets, with many businesses ending up being handed over to higher-ups. The family home was now filled with commendation flags!

Randy felt like vomiting blood every time he saw those flags. But Millie had her reasons. The Gallagher family's business had always been in a gray area, and if the family was to last, it needed serious reform.

After all the reforms, most of the family's businesses were now in Millie's hands...

Christina rolled her eyes. "Millie's even talking about this. Big sister is no match for you, who knows if you're just pretending to be..."

Christina hadn't finished her sentence before her face was splashed with red wine!

Noella's wine glass tilted, her expression blank, "Oops, my hand slipped."

"What was that you said? Say it again!"
