Be Grateful
Chapter 60 Be Grateful
Raven’s words hit Ramos like a slap in the face. He stood up, his face red with rage. He raised his hand, ready to strike her. But then, he stopped himself.
“You’re lucky I’m in a good mood today,” he said, his voice deadly calm. “If I were in a bad mood, I would kill you right now. But instead, I’ll give you one more chance to tell me what I want to know.”
Raven stared at him, her heart pounding in her chest.
“I want to show you something.” he said, as he signaled one of his men to bring her out of her cell.
They took her to a room she had never been in before. It was a small room, with only a table and two chairs inside. The walls were bare, and the only light came from a small window high up on the wall.
Ramos motioned for Raven to sit in one of the chairs. She did, her heart racing. She had no idea what he was going to do next.
“Now, I’m going to ask you some questions,” Ramos said, his voice calm and controlled. “And I expect you to answer truthfully.
“Where is the Carlos family hiding?” he asked.
“I don’t know,” Raven said, her voice shaking. “I really don’t.”
“I don’t believe you,” Ramos said. “But I’ll give you another chance. Where is the necklace?”
“What necklace?” Raven asked, looking at him in confusion.
“I don’t know anything about some necklace.”
“You don’t know huh?” Ramos asked.
“I don’t know.” Raven replied.
“Then, let me help you refresh your memory. Bring her father here right now.” He ordered.
A few minutes later, two of Ramos’s men came into the room, dragging a man with them.
The man was clearly in distress, his face bruised and his clothes torn. He was struggling against the men holding him, but they were too strong for him.
They forced him into the other chair, and he slumped forward, his head in his hands.
Raven gasped when she saw the man. It was her father.
“Daddy!” she cried.
“No!” she yelled, jumping to her feet. “What have you done to him?”
Ramos smiled coldly. “It’s not what I’ve done to him, it’s what I’m going to do to him,” he said. “Unless you tell me where the necklace is and Carlos family.”
“I don’t know where it is!” Raven said, her voice rising. “Please, don’t hurt him!”
“I’m giving you one last chance, Raven,” Ramos said. “Where is the necklace and Carlos family location?”
“I don’t know!” she yelled, starting to cry.
Ramos shook his head in disappointment. “I guess I’ll just have to hurt him, then,” he said.
“No!” Raven screamed. “Please, don’t!”
“Sorry, Raven,” Ramos said, turning to the men who were holding her father. “Do it.”
One of the men drew a knife from his belt, and before Raven could react, he plunged it into her father’s chest.
Time seemed to slow down as Raven watched the blood spill from her father’s body.
She fell to her knees, her heart breaking. He was her only family, and now he was gone.
She turned to Ramos, her eyes filled with tears. “Why?” she whispered. “Why did you do this?”
“Because you wouldn’t tell me what I wanted to know,” he said. “You brought this on yourself.”
“You’re a monster,” Raven said, her voice filled with hatred. “I hope you rot in hell.”
Ramos shrugged.
“Your words mean nothing to me,” he said. “You’re just a little girl, and I’m a powerful man. I can do whatever I want, and no one can stop me.”
He turned to leave, but Raven spoke up. “You’re wrong,” she said, her voice shaky but strong.
“You’re not as powerful as you think you are. I may be young, but I’m stronger than you’ll ever be.”
Ramos paused, looking back at her. “What makes you think that?” he asked, a hint of curiosity in his voice.
“Because I have something that you’ll never have,” Raven said. “I have the power of love.”
Ramos scoffed. “Love is nothing but a weakness,” he said. “It makes people do foolish things.”
“You’re wrong,” Raven said. “Love is the strongest force in the world. It gives us the strength to face our fears, to fight for what we believe in, and to never give up. It’s what makes us human, and it’s what makes us strong.”
“You Ramos are not capable of love. You will always be alone.
You took everything from me. So I will make you pay for what you just did to my only family.”
“Uhhhhh…. I’m so scared…..” he said
“Do you really think your empty threats would scare me? You are just a low life bitch who I can do whatever I want with.”
Raven felt a cold chill run down her spine. She had never seen such hatred and cruelty in a person’s eyes before. But she refused to back down.
“You may think you’re powerful, but you’re wrong,” she said, her voice shaking. “Your power is an illusion. It’s based on fear and manipulation. It won’t last.”
“And what makes you so sure of that?” Ramos sneered. “I have everything I could ever want. Money, power, and influence. I am untouchable.”
“You’re wrong,” Raven said.
“You’re not untouchable, Ramos. You see, I can kill you right where you are and end your miserable life right now, but I chose not to do that. And you know why?”
“Why?” Ramos asked.
“Because I am waiting for the right moment.” she said.Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.
“The right moment to do what?” Ramos asked.
“The last moment to strike.” Raven said.
“Mark my words, you asshole, you will regret what you did today to my father and I will make you beg for mercy.”
“Hahahaha….. you’re really naive, Raven. Do you really think you stand a chance against me? I mean look at you. You don’t have anything that you can call your own.
You are in this position because of your father and so I helped you end his misery. You should be grateful yeah.” He said.
“So be a grateful, bitch and behave.”
