Gaining His Trust
Chapter 45 Gaining His Trust
“I want to help you get out of here, but you have to trust me.” Raven said.
“Listen, young lady… I don’t trust anyone… And besides, I have known Ramos that when he threatens to hurt your family, he doesn’t bluff about it.” Carlos said.
“So please, just leave me alone.”
Raven stood there, feeling frustrated and helpless. She had hoped that Carlos would be willing to listen to her, but it seemed that he was set in his ways. She knew that he was just trying to protect his family, but she also knew that if he followed through with Ramos’s plan, he would only be putting them in more danger.
“I’m sorry,” she said softly. “I just wanted to help.”
With that, she turned and walked away, leaving Carlos alone with his thoughts. He watched her go, wondering if he had made the right decision. Only time would tell.Content is property of NôvelDrama.Org.
Raven returned to her room and called Alfredo.
He picks up
“Hello, Raven. Are you okay?” Alfredo asked.
Raven was silent for a while and then spoke.
“Alfredo, what should I do to stop Ramos? Should I just walk into his room and strangle him to death or just put a bullet through his brain?” Raven asked.
“Why? What’s going on?” Alfredo asked, concern in his voice.
“Ramos, captured Carlos Gonzalez and now he wants Carlos to send you guys a message or else he would kill his daughter or every member of his family he so dear love.” Raven explained.
“He’s a monster!”
“Wait… Let me get this right. Ramos wants to send Carlos Gonzalez to tell what? Do you know what it is?” Alfredo asked.
“I don’t know…. Ramos doesn’t trust anyone to reveal anything.” Raven said.
“But, he’s also planning on sending me to you guys to extract information from you so he could use those information to destroy you guys.”
Alfredo’s blood ran cold. If what Raven was saying was true, this was a serious threat.
Ramos was using Carlos as a pawn in his game, and he was willing to hurt innocent people to get what he wanted. This was bigger than he had imagined.
“This is bad,” he said, running a hand through his hair. “I don’t know what to do.”
“We have to think of a way to stop him,” Raven said, her voice urgent. “He can’t be allowed to get away with this.”
“But how can we stop him without putting anyone in danger?”
“We need to find a way to cut off his resources,” Raven said, her mind racing. “If he doesn’t have any money or power, he won’t be able to do anything.”
“That’s easier said than done,” Alfredo said. “He’s a very powerful man, and he has a lot of connections. It won’t be easy to cut him off from everything.”
“We have to try,” Raven said. “We can’t let him get away with this.”
“I know,” Alfredo said, his voice tight with worry.
“What if we could find a way to expose him to the authorities?” Raven suggested. “If we could provide them with evidence of his illegal activities, they might be able to put a stop to him.”
“That’s not possible, Raven,” Alfredo said,
“It’s dangerous and you and I both know that he has a lot of politicians supporting him and so the authorities can’t help us in this situation.
Ramos is not someone who takes betrayal lightly. If he found out that we were trying to expose him, he would come after us with everything he has.” Alfredo said.
“But we can’t just sit back and do nothing,” Raven said, her voice rising in frustration. “He’s putting innocent people in danger, and we have to do something to stop him.”
“I know that,” Alfredo said, his voice soothing. “I’m not suggesting that we do nothing, but we need to be smart about how we approach this. If we make a wrong move, we could make things worse.”
“We can’t let him continue to hurt people,” Raven said, her eyes flashing with determination.
“What I think we should do is this. Why don’t you ask Carlos to reveal the location of his family? I and my brother Alfonso would go and take them to safety far away from Ramos.” Alfredo suggested.
“I think that’s a good idea, but I have a problem. Would he believe me? He has serious trust issues right now. He think I might be working for Ramos and he’s using me to try to get him to betray him. So he might not agree.” Raven said.
“That’s a good point,” Alfredo said, scratching his head as he thought about it. “Maybe we need to find a way to gain his trust first. If he can see that you’re truly on his side, he might be more willing to listen.”
