Smitten
Chapter 3 Smitten
Smitten.
Uncompromising.
Singularly, Raven Lockheed could be described as a stubborn beauty – her father knew better than anyone how lethal her determination could get.
His daughter was strong-headed.
Then again, who knew her stubbornness would lead her into shooting one of the deadliest men in the darn country?
Once the bullet penetrated the arm of Ramos, multiple nozzles were pointed directly at Raven by his men – each, overly eagerly, to blow her head to pieces.
How dare she? What number of guts did she possess to point a gun at their leader? – who in their right mind doesn’t know of Ramos Escobar?
Yet, this enchanting young lady thoughtlessly shot at him – death, that was the only thing she deserved right now.
Her aura reeked of fearlessness, haughtiness, and most of all… belligerence. To many, it was suffocating, but Ramos found it… mesmerizing.
With an arm that bled profusely, he straightened himself and then focused his full attention on Raven.
Undoubtedly, he had encountered someone utterly interesting – who knew such an otherworldly woman existed?
“Down” that sole word thrived in lowering the multiple guns that were once aimed at Raven. His men unhesitatingly yet confusingly brought down their guns.
What was wrong with their boss? Shouldn’t he be putting countless bullets into the body of this woman, yet who were they to question his authority?
While they did so, Raven surprisingly did the same but shoved the gun into the back pocket of the jeans she wore. Gallantly, she walked past the mafia, headed for the bed of her father.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Raven glanced at the unconscious body of Dr. Lee, then sighed – how sweet yet stupid of him. Lee was a doctor through and through; unlike her, she possessed some skills that were suitable for combat.
Her beautiful looks do betray her genuine fighting skills, but then again, Raven loved it as so. That way, she’d end the life of any bastard unsuspectingly.
Raven settled down on the edge of Mr. Salvador’s bed, clearly ignoring the presence of others in the ward.
Why should she care about them? – her world was her father. Nothing else could matter to her.
Raven cupped his scarcely wrinkled face in her delicate, soft palms before gaping worriedly at him.
Her eyes displayed the utmost concern for him, yet he was filled with… fear – did Raven realize what just did?
“Ra… Raven?” Mr. Salvador’s lips quivered frighteningly, fright evident in his orbs, then again Raven smiled mildly at him.
She understood his worries, but she’d protect him; everything that made her who she was, she’d use to protect her beloved father.
“Nothing’s going to happen to us, okay?” Raven whispered reassuringly to his hearing alone, then diverted her attention from him to the mafia, who was now watching them.
Despite his painful wound, a stick of cigarette was caught in between his plush lips as he puffed out clouds of smoke occasionally from it. His eyes were the embodiment of ruthlessness and with his incessant gaze on her, Raven felt like he was staring into her soul.
Then again, there was no room for intimidation.
Her overly attractive lips were held in a tight, deep frown as she parted them to speak.
“How much is his debt? – I’d like to repay it on his behalf, it’s allowed, right shitty geezer?” Raven smirked cockily at him, only for Ramos to chuckle lightly.
He was right – she would be fascinating.
“His debt? Hmm. It ain’t much, beautiful; just a thousand dollars, think your pretty ass can pay it before next week?” His tone was laced with so much venom that made it so hard to believe anything he said.
This man reeked of dishonesty, yet Raven didn’t seem to mind – he might be mischievous, but she always had an ace up her sleeve.
“You’ll get your money, now leave! Shitty geezer”.
Ramos laughed out loud as he turned to leave. Smiling deviously, he left the ward and his men trailed after – well, except for the one Raven knocked down.
He walked stylishly out of the hospital and unsurprisingly, no soul was seen around the hallways or parking lot. Of course, those were the normal and sane reactions toward his presence.
Normal humans cowered in fear and some lost consciousness in his presence, but that lady… Raven was intriguingly different.
About half a dozen limousines could be seen in the parking lot, but only a single chauffeur stood at one’s door.
With Ramos approaching, the door was opened, and he slid easily in. Inside the costly car, his blood unfailingly stained the leather seats greatly, yet the pains were oblivious to Ramos.
All he could think of was… Raven Lockheed. She shot, talked back, and even acted obnoxiously toward him.
He’d be damned not to make her his – his entire soul agreed with it.
“Oh, Raven, how I wonder how much you’ll love being my third wife – the position surely suits you” A handsome but devilish smile spread on his lips as he smoked silently.

“Hello, Salvador!” The wide grin which greeted him successfully got him shifting backward in fright.
6 consecutive days had speedily passed, ever since Raven left an unknown imprint in the mind of Ramos. Accordingly, to their deal, she’d pay him the money, but was Ramos still interested in that?
Nope – money was a mere type of useless paper to him. He had it in excess, all he wanted was Mr. Salvador’s gusty daughter.
His desire to get her began overwhelming, to the extent he came to pay a supposed visit to Salvador’s apartment. Unfortunately, he met Mr. Salvador and not Raven, who allegedly left for work.
Currently, Ramos could be seen towering over the trembling figure of Mr. Salvador, who sat afraid on the floor, yet eyes retained shakily on the mafia.
“T-t-t-the payment date’s tomorrow!” he barely managed to speak, and strangely, Ramos snickered largely then crouched to his level.
His legs got lowered so that his face mirrored Salvador’s own yet not too closely.
“Payment? Nah.” Ramos paused to puff out a large cloud of smoke into the face of Salvador, who couldn’t help but cough.
“I ain’t interested in that piece of paper anymore, Salvador. I want…that pretty ass daughter of yours, you ain’t going to give her to me for a third wife?”
