The Proud Boss Lady.

Chapter 45: 45.

Chapter 45: 45.

" Watch your step, Jackie!" Mase rudely scolded as she descended the staircase. He was on edge for

the past few days and it was getting Jackie bothered.

" You know what, I'm not going anymore. Go with Alicia and Kyle. Find something to tell the host, like

umm, I am down with the flu or something." she fumed climbing up the stairs.

" I don't have time for your useless and senseless tantrums, suit yourself!" he responded with her tone

and walked out banging the door loudly. Jackie shook her head as she stood at the window in her room

looking down at Mase talking to Alicia and Kyle. A few minutes later, they sat in the car as he sped off

in anger.

Who pissed in his cereal this morning? she couldn't help but wonder.

" Hey, girls," she picked her phone. Freya and Jess had face-timed her.

" Bad time?" Jess asked her sister.

" No, it's a good time. Just Mase throwing tantrums like a woman in her period, and I can't deal with

that," she explained.

" Is he edgy lately?" Freya asked.

" Yeah, ever since he came back from your he has been edgy and annoying." she sighed sitting on her

bed.

"Give it time, he would be fine," Jess added.

"Enough of my rants, what have you girls been up to lately?" she asked.

" Nothing much, just planning on coming to New York City for a girls trip," Freya added.

" That sounds fun, tell me more." her ears pecked.

" Okay, it's a one-week trip. We are planning to leave Jersey City, NJ in two days. Then when we get

there, we plan the fun places to go." Jess explained.

"Great idea, but won't it affect your work?" she asked them both.

"No, no. Everything had already been sorted out." Freya chipped in.

" Then, I would be expecting you, girls, on Sunday. I can't wait to have you here." she couldn't hold her

excitement.

" And we can't wait to be there either!"

" What Cody? What?" Amelia asked as he dragged her out of the girl's washroom to the car park.

"What?" she asked again.

" I don't like you hanging out with Zayn." he managed to say.

"Excuse me, say what now?" she raised her brow.

"You heard me," he smirked walking away.

" Who the hell do you think you are? The prince? Well, wake and smell the coffee. You have no fucking

right to tell me who to hang out with, you understand? You have no right. I'm gonna hang out with him,

so get that into your thick skull. The world doesn't revolve around you, you had your chance and you

blew it. So byee!" she turned on her heels walking out on him.

Cody stood shocked at her display. He thought she would have just agreed already, but his guess was

wrong.

Watch out Huxley, don't say I didn't warn you.

He thought to himself heading to his car. Amelia walked angrily to the classroom.

"Where have you been?" Lauren asked her friend.

" I'll tell you after class." She finished as the teacher walked in. The lessons were boring as time slowly

crawled by. The moment the bell rang, everyone let out a breath they didn't know they were holding.

They all scrambled out of the class to prevent the teacher from talking more.

" So what happened?" Lauren bugged.

" Cody happened." she put. Rita had gone on a trip with her parents and would be back in a day or two.

"That son of a bitch, what did he do and what did he want?" Lauren clenched her fists.

"He told me to stop hanging out with Zayn, and I told him he's not the boss of me, besides I was over

him long ago and then I walked out on him. He stood rooted to his spot before walking away," she

explained.

"Is he high on cheap drugs?" Who the hell does he think he is?" Lauren fumed.

"Calm down, he's not worth the stress." she finished as Zayn walked to their table.

" Hey, babe," he pecked her on her cheeks. Cody's demeanour changed as soon as he saw that. He

clenched his fists and walked towards the class. He had come back to apologise to Amelia for all he

did, but it was too late. She had moved on and it was high time he did same and stopped making a fool

out of himself.

Mase was uncomfortable throughout the program because Jackie wasn't around. He had missed her

company. But what had come over him lately?

Why did he talk rudely to her?

He just didn't want to be too close to her, what if she didn't him the same?

What would become of their friendship? he couldn't help but wonder.

And what if she loved him the same? What would he lose? It's better he tried his luck than he being in

denial.

" Hey, are you okay?" Alicia asked him after the show.

"I'm fine, don't bother yourself about me," Mase added.

"It's obvious you are not man, you blacked out during the whole show, whatever's eating you up you

have to deal with it before it's too late." Kyle chipped in.

"Thanks, guys, but i'm fine. It's just fatigue." he lied.

" Okay, suit yourself then. Let's get going so you could go have some rest." Alicia said as they headed

to their car. The paparazzi surrounded them, taking pictures of them and asking them random

questions.

"We can't answer any of your questions, for now, we need to get some sleep." Mase walked out on

them with Kyle and Alicia on his heels.

"That was a close one, we were thinking of an escape route and you made it possible," Kyle added.

"The pleasure is mine, I sensed your frustration and I decided to help, everyone needs a break from

the paparazzi sometimes and today is your luckiest day," Mase said to them.

"Mucho graçias!" both Alicia and Kyle said at the same time.

"Jinx! you owe me a drink," Alicia said. Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.

"No, you owe me a drink rather, jinx!" the two bickered as they entered the car.

"You guys are behaving like high schoolers," Mase chuckled as the driver drove them home
