Chapter 50: 50
Chapter 50: 50
She wore a blue faux-wrap V-neck sequin dress that hugged her figure tightly. Deven had planned a
surprise for her that night, and she kept wondering what it was yet he never spoke a word. Val was no
better, she pretended not to know anything about Deven taking her out tonight.
Those two... I couldn't love them any less. She thought to herself as she picked up her matching clutch,
looking into the mirror one last time before descending the staircase. Just as she got to the foot of the
staircase, the doorbell rang.
Perfect timing.
" Come on in," she called as Deven entered. He wore a grey tuxedo, his white shirt wasn't fully
buttoned and his toned chest was showing, his hair was parted to the side which made him look
incredibly hot that night. In all, he looked charming.
" Like what you see?" he broke her out of her self induced trance.
" Uuhuh..." she nodded slowly as he stretched out his hands to take hers. She gently put her hand in
his as they headed out into the night locking up behind her.
" So, where are we going?" she asked sitting in the Rolls-Royce Phantom.
" It's a surprise," he told her cheek. He had planned a beautiful dinner at his penthouse which was 2
hours away from Jersey, City. The drive was interesting, they talk, laughed and sang off key all the way
to their destination. Onlookers starred at them weirdly but they didn't care about what they did or said
or even how they looked at them.
"We are here," Deven announced parking his car in front of the penthouse. It was located in Atlantic
City, NJ, Linwood to be precised.
The penthouse was enormous and extravagant. It was a two-story building, the first floor was entirely
glass. " You ready?" Deven asked.
" Umm, yes of course," Nichole answered as they headed into the building. The interior decor was
exquisite and comfortable. The floors were made with marbles and the walls painted a warm, homey
colour.
" This is breathtakingly beautiful," she added as they climbed up to the first floor. Dinner had been
served out on the balcony, the lights of the whole city brightened up the place making it look more
beautiful. Deven led Nichole to her seat, helping her sit down before he took his seat.
" This is beautiful," she said for the umpteenth time.
" Not as ravishing as you tonight." he complimented.
" I hope you like your surprise, " he chuckled.
" I love it, thanks Deven." she smiled sipping on her wine. They talked while eating their dinner, about
random stuff. The servants cleared the table after they were done with dinner. They brought in their
dessert after a while.
It's now or never.
"Don't say no, no, no, no, no
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
And we'll go, go, go, go, go
If you're ready, like I'm ready
'Cause it's a beautiful night, we're looking for something dumb to do
Hey baby, I think I wanna marry you
Is it the look in your eyes or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares, baby, I think I wanna marry you, oh
Just say I do
Tell me right now, baby
Tell me right now, baby, baby..." Deven knelt down on one knee and proposed to her using lyrics
from Bruno Mars' Marry you. Nichole was speechless. He did all this just to ask her to be his wife? She
couldn't ask for more, he was a handsome, rich, caring, loving, kind and selfless man and she couldn't
love him any less.
" I do, scratch that...I will marry you Deven," she said as he slipped on the 18 karat rose gold ring unto
her finger. The ring was a beauty. She helped him up and hugged him.
"Thank you," he added.
" No, thank you. Thank you for coming into my life. Thank you for being that wonderful gentleman that
you've always been. Thank you, Deven Sinclair, I love you to the moon and back." She said kissing
him.

" Good morning love," Deven greeted carrying a tray of breakfast towards the bed. The sunlight filled
their room giving it a beautiful look.
"Hey babe, good morning," she yawned sitting up.
" How was your night?" he inquired.
" It was great, thanks to you." she smiled.
" That's great, anyways, get your sexy behind in the bathroom, brush and join me for breakfast. A
sumptuous meal, made by yours truly...chef Deven." he gave himself some accolades. Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
" I can't wait to taste that, it looks good. Let's hope it looks the same way it tastes." she teased walking
into the bathroom with her phone. She checked her phone to see a text message from Val that read, "
Give me the deets, asap." She smiled texting her back that, when they get back home she'd invite her
over for a sleepover so she could tell her everything.
"Babe! the food is getting cold," Deven called.
" I'm done," she came out wiping her face. She sat on the bed next to her fiance. She picked up her
fork and uncovered the food. It was mouth-watering. Without wasting any time, she took the first bite.
The flavours of the food burst into her mouth as she moaned at its deliciousness.
" How come I never knew you could cook this well?" she asked with her mouthful of food.
" That's because it's my hidden talent...Val doesn't even know about it," he answered joining her.
" You cook real good," she added giving him a high five.
" Thanks, love," he smiled.
" Uumm, what time are we getting back...you know you have a meeting at 6 pm today." she reminded.
" Yeah, yeah I do. After this we take a shower then we head right back," he stated.
" So how about I take care of this and you head in and take your bath. I'd join in later that's if you're
not done. But if you are then I have my bath and then we good to go." she suggested.
" That's a good idea, I'm gonna head in and have a slow bath while waiting for you." he winked at her
as she took the tray downstairs to the kitchen.
I bless the day I met this man.
