Nothing but fake people
Lily pursed her lips as she walked into her newly assigned dorm to see three other people already occupying the best parts of the room. As she stepped in the once noisy room became quiet and all eyes fixed on her, watching her every move as she walked in. Lily could tell that the three of them were not fond of her from the malicious looks in their eyes.
“Oh, look who’s here!” One of the girls spoke in a mocking, sneering tone, drawing the attention of the others in the room. “If it isn’t Merissa’s little lap dog. I’m surprised she even let you out of her sight! Why didn’t you go live with her off campus?” She laughed cruelly, and the other girls joined in, their laughter like a pack of hyenas circling their prey.
She ignored their words and walked to the last bed space in the room, “Did you not hear Jasmine talking? How dare you ignore her!” The lady closest to her snatched the dusting towel and sneered into her face, daring her to say something back, “Paupers really do have nasty manners, have you never been told not to ignore people when they talk to you? How dare you pretend you didn’t hear her talking to you? Or did you lose your hearing in the accident?” she added earning a death glare from Lily who took back the towel and continued cleaning without saying a thing.
“Who are these people?” Lily asked the system as she began arranging her things.
{These are your classmates. Previously as Lily, you often offended them because Merissa never liked them. They are no good people so if you may, avoid them as much as you can}
“Avoiding them is out of the question as long as we share the same room, they will always be in my face about everything and anything. I just need to find a way to deal with them and make them realise that I am not a pushover”
{You have my support. You can use them as practice before dealing with Merissa. I don’t mind helping you out since I’ve been a little bored recently}
Lily rolled her eyes at the system’s attempt to sound mischievous. Once she was done cleaning and laying the bed sheets, she picked up some clothes and walked into the bathroom to clean up.
Jasmine watched Lily walk away, her fists clenched with rage. “Who does she think she is, acting all high and mighty?” she grumbled, her voice filled with hatred and malice, “Isn’t it all because she has Merissa backing her up?” Priscilla, the girl from the other time, quipped, making Jasmine even more angry.
For generations, the Smith and Shane families had been bitter rivals, a rivalry that spanned generations and touched every aspect of their lives. From business to social gatherings, they were always in competition, vying for the top spot.
Their offspring were no exception, and whenever they were together, it was always a battle to come out on top. Whether it was a school project or a sports game, they were locked in a fierce rivalry that showed no signs of letting up.
Both Merissa and Jasmine had gone after Lily when they had resumed, both wanting her to join their ranks so they could gain the upper hand. However, due to Lily’s parents working with Merissa’s parents, Merissa naturally had the upper hand, which made her easily suppress Jasmine.
“She’s no longer with Merissa, I saw them argue in front of the registration office today, why else would you think Lily is no longer staying with her?” The third girl in the room, Lydia, asked with a smug look on her face, “You should have seen Merissa’s face when Lily walked out on her, it was hilarious! She looked like she could tear down the whole place,” she added with a small laugh
“What could have caused their fallout? Lily always did her bidding without complaints previously, how come she’s showing her little claws at this time?” Jasmine asked curiously.
“Did you not hear about it? Merissa’s post on the team previously belonged to Lily as the top student in class but Merissa plotted against her and got her hospitalised!” Lydia chimed in with a gossipy tone making the other two girls gasp in shock.
“My boyfriend, who’s a friend of Lily’s boyfriend in the modelling department, told me everything,” Lydia said smugly, a malicious glint in her eye. “He even told me how it was Lily’s boyfriend who came up with the idea that Merissa used in dealing with her! Isn’t it funny, how she’s been played for a fool this entire time?” Lydia gossipped.
Lily walked out of the bathroom pretending she didn’t hear all that they had said, she picked up her phone and laptop and got comfortable on the bed ready to start learning. As she turned on her phone she realised she had a call and a message from someone named Zach, “Who is he?”
{That’s the original body owner’s boyfriend. They started dating during their freshman year and he has remained at the top of his class due to his beauty and the fact that he always models your work during competitions}© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“He is the one they are talking about then?”
{Yes}
{This girl is so pitiful, surrounding herself with nothing but fake people ready to tear her into shreds just because she comes from a humble background}
Lily pursed her lips and read the message before casually replying, setting the phone aside and picking up her laptop to see if there was anything that needed to be attended to on the website, {Are you going to meet up with him?}
“Yes,” she replied casually and logged onto the hacker’s website with one swift move.
{Isn’t cutting off all contact with him now the best? Why would you even agree to meet a scum like that?}
“Cutting him off is only letting him escape. I won’t let anyone who cheats on me or the original owner of this body go scot-free, all of them will have to pay in due time. As for the Smith family, I will slowly and surely remove all of their backbones and then crush them in one fell swoop. Just wait and see!”
