The Rejected Luna: Daddy, Where is Mommy?

Ethlyn.

Since morning everything was fine between them. If pure silence could be counted as FINE, then.

“Umm…yeah!!” Calvin responded and realized that he hadn’t talked about his mate with Roselet. He mind-linked Damian informing him that he would be slightly late in arriving and reached Roselet. “I.. I’m sorry to both of you.” he apologized.

“I was going to the pack hospital?”

“What? Why? Is everything alright?” Roselet asked in concern.

“Let’s talk about it on the way to the hospital.” He offered, carrying her in his arms, and looked at Ethlyn, who gave him a small smile in return. Observing this, he smiled back at her.

‘Right now, you’re smiling at me, but after knowing what I have done, you will be glaring at me.’ She thought.

Calvin took Roselet from there and calmly explained everything about his fated mate and about her condition. He also told her that both his father and mother had decided to give an honest try for this relationship and would see whether it worked or not.

Roselet heard his father without disturbing him in between.

“Are you upset with the arrival of my mate in our life?” Calvin asked her when she didn’t speak anything after hearing everything that Calvin had to say.

“No” She shook her head. “I know what I wanted before mommy’s arrival in our life.” She paused before speaking. “Your happiness.”

Calvin fell in love with his daughter again and gave a long kiss on her cheek, But it also reminded him that both father and daughter had always kept each other’s happiness first in their life.

‘Let’s reject our mate, Calvin.’ Keanu said, placing a stone on his life. For a while, he had become selfish, but now he couldn’t. Being a five years old girl, Roselet wanted her father’s happiness first even though she wished to see her parents together.

Then why couldn’t he do the same for her?

What if, by choosing his mate, he would end up bringing a cruel mother for his daughter?

He was thinking all this when his eyes landed on the decoration of the lobelia flower in the hospital. His jaws clenched when he saw that. Lobelia flowers were used to stop the witch from concentrating so that she wouldn’t be able to cast any spell.

“Wow, blue flowers.” Roselet chirped. “What is the name of this flower, Calvin? I haven’t seen this type of flower before.”

“That’s because it is not easily found here. This is Lobelia. It is used as a prevention from witches’ spells.”

“Ooo!!”

“Hey!!” Calvin said, looking at his mate and putting Roselet down on her own feet, who ran toward Calvin’s mate while Calvin followed her.

“Hii, how are you feeling?” Roselet asked, reaching beside his mate.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

“Aww!! You’re so cute. I’m feeling good. Thank you for asking.” She spoke, caressing Roselet’s cheek. “What’s your name?”

“I’m Rose, and you’re?”

“I’m Chloe Wallis.”

“I’ve seen you somewhere, Chloe, because you seem familiar.” Roselet pointed out. “I’m not able to remember when and where did I see you before.”

“Really? Let me know about it, too, because I don’t think I have met you before.” Chloe replied with a smile.

“Rose, go and greet the pack doctor and check on the pack members in the hospital. Congratulate those who are happy and support those who are sad, okay?” Calvin said, caressing her hair.

“Sure, Calvin.” Saying this, Roselet ran out of the room.

“She is such an amazing kid,” Chloe said, to which Calvin nodded his head.

“I know. She is a sweetheart.”

“Thank you for saving my life, Alpha Calvin,” Chloe said, bowing her head in front of him.

“It’s… it’s fine.” Calvin stopped her.

“I wasn’t sure where I was until I heard a couple of wolves howl around this place, so that’s how I figured out that I’m in the pack,” Chloe spoke. “To be honest, I thought that I was with those merciless hunters who shot me when I saw these flowers in my room, but then I mentally slapped myself for thinking in that way when I realized that hunters have dozen of reasons to torture witches like me instead of using this flower.” She added with a sad smile. Calvin’s fist clenched, and he wanted to kick the person who was behind this decoration.

‘Who could have done this without taking his permission? Or Who could have ordered to do this?’ He thought.

Ethlyn!!

His mind replied to him on his own because he had observed her talking with Zordan a couple of times, but he didn’t care to check what they were talking about; after all, Ethlyn was Zordan’s sister-in-law except Luna.

“I apologize for this. But… I hope you will understand that a witch in a pack is dangerous. So, precaution is better than cure, you know.” Calvin replied, not going against Ethlyn’s decision. At the same time, he didn’t want to blame her in front of someone else but deep down, he was fuming in anger.

“I think you should rest. I will talk to you later about this whole incident. Bye, take care.” He said, not waiting near her even for a second more, and dashed out of her room to demand an explanation about this.

Once he was out, Chloe slammed her hand on the bed in anger and grabbed the half-broken phone that was on the table near her. She looked toward the door, which was closed, and then dialed someone’s number.

“Our plan is not going in the way we wanted,” Chloe spoke.

“What? How come? He should have marked you by now to keep you alive.”

“Sorry to burst your bullshit bubble, but nothing happened liked that.” Chloe hissed.
