“Man!! You jumped from the tree. I was so impressed when you ended up standing on your feet instead of reaching the hospital.”
It was that boy’s turn to blush. “We will make a good team,” Roselet said in excitement.
“That’s not happening. We are from the opposite team, and one day, we will stand in front of each other to kill each other; maybe when we will grow older, then.” The boy said in excitement. “I can’t wait for the day when I will attack you, and you won’t stop yourself by thinking of me as a pup. And then… the strongest among us will stay alive,” he spoke.
Roselet frowned but didn’t say anything about that. She was offering him her friendship, and he was talking about killing each other one day.
“By the way, My name is Hunter, and yours?”
“I’m Roselet.”
“Come on, Roselet!! Now, get lost from my land before my people will be here and will kill you.”
“Umm!! Yeah… I have to reach the city as soon as possible.” Roselet said and heard the sound of leaves again. They both looked at each other and then quickly looked for a place to hide, thinking more rogues were there but little did they know, it was Zordan with a couple of wolves in search of Roselet.
‘Our sensing power, as well as hearing powers, are not working here, Beta.’
‘I know. That’s because there is a trap everywhere. One wrong step, and you’re dead. Just like that rogue.’ Zordan mind linked, pointing toward the dead rouge. They looked around carefully for a while but couldn’t find Roselet. ‘Let’s go. I think she isn’t here.’ He mind linked everyone.
Once they left, both kids came out of their hidden places approx ten to fifteen minutes.
“Pheww… that was a close one. We almost got caught.” Hunter sighed.
“It looks like a lot of rogues come here,” Roselet concluded. “But what were you doing here alone? Are you planning to die?” She asked.
“No. It’s just that I was missing my dad and wanted to stay alone for a while.” He replied. “My dad was recently killed by someone like you, I mean, like your people. My family will deal with them on their own. A part of me wants to kill that person on my own, but…”
“But you’re so young.” Roselet completed his sentence.
“Yes!!!” Hunter nodded his head. “I miss my dad. I wish he was here to see how I kill this rogue.”
“Hey.” Roselet hugged him. “It’s okay. I’m sure wherever he is, he is so proud of you.” She said, caressing his back. “After all, you’re so brave.” She spoke, breaking the hug. “I should leave now.”
“Yeah!!” Hunter agreed, running his fingers in his hair, and both of them again walked toward the exit.
“Bye.”
“Bye.”
Roselet had barely taken a few steps toward the right path when a wolf growled at her from the back. She knew this growl. For others, all wolf growling sounds appeared the same, but she definitely recognized a couple of growls clearly.
She turned her head and found Cinder looking at her. Cinder couldn’t believe that she had found her daughter this easily.
‘Wow!!’ She thanked Moon Goddess first and quickly ran toward her, but all of a sudden, she frowned and looked at the little boy in shock who stood between Roselet and her, pointing a tiny silver dagger at her.
“Run!!” Hunter said to Roselet, thinking this wolf was going to harm Roselet, while she slammed her palm on her forehead and spoke.
“She is my mommy.”
“Mommy?” Hunter’s eyes widened, and he looked at Roselet, who nodded her head. He quickly stepped aside and hoped that she wouldn’t hurt him after all; Roselet told him that they don’t attack pups or kids in the human term.
Cinder finally came close to Roselet and took a deep breath, inhaling her sweet scent. She thanked Moon Goddess again for keeping her daughter safe.
“I’m fine, Mommy,” Roselet replied, studying the gesture of Cinder. Hearing this, Cinder growled at her for running away and crouched so that she could sit on her back. “I’m not going to pack again, Mommy.”
Cinder looked at her, which she kept, shaking her head. In the end, she didn’t have any other left than to shift into her human form, and the other kid standing here had to watch that.
She was positive that he was a pup of some hunters, a human, and getting naked in front of a human pup was really uncomfortable for her, but then she really needed to talk with her daughter and know the reason behind her behavior. She wondered what that witch had said to brainwash her daughter, because of which she took this big step.
Cinder imagined her human form, and after a few seconds, Ethlyn was in front of Roselet on her knee. “What happened, dear? Why don’t you want to go the pack?” She asked softly, holding Roselet’s arms.
“Because I’m the reason because of why daddy has so much responsibility on him. He can’t enjoy his life because of my presence in his life.” She said, and her voice started becoming heavy again. “Most importantly, mommy, he never wanted me. Grandpa Christian left me outside the pack to get rid of me. I’m.. I’m UNWANTED.” Tears rolled out of her eyes at that particular word. Ethlyn wiped her tears with her thumb.
“And I.. I am t.. the result o… of mis.. mistak.. ke.” By now, she was almost a crying mess. “I’m… n.. not a gi.. gift fro… from M.. moon god.. goddess.” Ethlyn hugged her tightly and started preparing how to explain things to Roselet because that witch had ruined Roselet’s thoughts by telling her the truth in this way.
“Can we talk about it in the pack? She asked softly so that things would be a lot easier when both of Roselet’s parents would be there to explain her doubts and questions.
“No!! I do… don’t wa.. want to go the.. ere.” She responded, shaking her head.
“If you won’t, then how will you get to know the truth from another side as well, sweetheart,” Ethlyn spoke, caressing her back. “After that, you’re allowed to make whatever decision you want, but you should at least give yourself a chance to tell yourself the whole truth.”
“Just like I heard you calmly in the way, you should also give me a chance to hear what I have to say about everything. Hmm?” She tried to convince Roselet. “Do you know what the meaning of UNWANTED is? Something that is no longer needed or desired, and we both know that your daddy always cherished you like a princess.”
“That’s because Grandpa and Grandma threatened to cut their ties with him,” Roselet responded, breaking the hug.
“So, you mean to say that your daddy loves his parents more than you?” Ethlyn questioned. Roselet thought about this question before replying, and she didn’t feel that way.
“No, he loves me the most,” Roselet whispered.
“It’s your mind who is playing games with you by confusing you, but your heart already knows the truth, princess,” Ethlyn told her. “People regret his mistake, Rose, but I bet your daddy has always treated you as a blessing in his life.” Hearing this, Roselet started, thinking about everything in more detail. Because it was true, Calvin always told her that she came into his life as a blessing.Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
“Your daddy came running to my pack back then because he couldn’t stay away from you for a day longer. Do you really think that he will live happily without your presence in his life?” Ethlyn asked softly and sensed Calvin’s presence nearby.
“Come on, now!! Be a good girl that you’re and come with me to the pack. Because I really hope that you should give us a chance and hear what we want to say instead of running away from us.” She said, and Roselet nodded her head. That was when her eyes landed on her daddy’s wolf and all the other pack members in their wolf forms behind him. Leaving Ethlyn’s side, she ran toward Keanu.
Keanu got excited to see her running toward him and quickly lowered his head to lick her face out of love. Ethlyn smiled, watching them together. She realized that Roselet didn’t need her mother in her life because Calvin had been a really great father but…. but he couldn’t be the man she wanted to spend her whole life.
That was why she had to leave even though she wanted to be the part of Roselet’s life, but there were other ways too to be around her rather than staying with a man who couldn’t respect her.
She then turned her head toward the little boy, who was still there with a silver dagger in his hand and was watching Roselet. She lifted her eyes from him and looked around, and her smile vanished when she saw someone aiming a gun at Calvin’s head. Before she would have shouted at him to move, she watched the bullet out of the gun already.
She ran and jumped in the air shifting into her wolf form to reach Calvin quickly. She growled at him because she couldn’t mind link him and informing him about the bullet, but Calvin didn’t understand that.
Though she was successful in pushing him away but she ended up collapsing on the ground because that bullet hit Ethlyn.
Calvin was still trying to understand what the hell had happened when he heard.
“ATTACK!!!”
