Chapter 1288
Chapter 1288
"I don't think so!"
"How do we catch the seabirds then?" Jaydon asked casually.
"These birds need to be attracted by the cries of the female birds. Let's go ahead and take a look. We
should be able to catch them."
Miya looked around slowly as she walked.
She seemed to be looking for something.
"Don't play any tricks," Bruce said. "Move quickly!" Bruce pushed her back and warned her sternly.
"Mr. Everett, my hands and feet are tied," Miya said. "What tricks can I play?" Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
"Cut the crap," Bruce said. "Move quickly."
Miya stumbled again as she was pushed. She did not dare to say anything else and could only lead the
way unsteadily ahead.
Everyone made progress gradually, walking for more than an hour.
The path ahead finally widened, and there were fewer weeds and vines.
The few of them had been walking until they were sweating profusely, almost suffocating in the heat.
Now that they were out of the forest, they could finally feel a bit of breeze.
"Let's take a break!" Aria said as she handed the flask to Bruce.
"Have some water," Aria said.
Bruce took the flask and took a few sips. "Thanks," he said.
"Flutter."
A few seabirds flew past them again and danced in the air.
"Let's set a trap here and catch the seabirds!"
"Okay."
Bruce did not say anything else. He put down the backpack on his shoulder. Jaydon also placed the
birdcage in his hand on the ground and began preparing to catch the birds.
"How do we catch them?"
"Set up traps first and put in some bait."
"Then, play the sound of the female birds to attract the male birds."
"I'll go design a trap to catch more of them."
"Alright. Okay."
"Ouch!" Jaydon frowned. His arm was still hurting badly.
Seeing this, Aria said, "I'll bandage your arm."
"It's all right now," Jaydon said.
"Coo. Coo. Coo..."
Bruce played the recording of the female birds and opened the cage, placing leaves on top of it.
Then, he took out the female bird's body that he had recorded in advance and placed it in the cage.
"Let's hide a bit farther away, otherwise the birds won't dare to come over."
"Alright."
They retreated back into the forest and hid. They were about 100 to 200 yards away from the birdcage.
After a while, the sound of the female birds indeed attracted a few male birds.
"Thump."
As soon as the male birds entered the cage, they instantly triggered the switch, and the door of the
cage automatically closed.
"Caw. Caw. Caw..."
Two male birds fluttered in the cage.
"We caught them. We caught them!"
"We need to catch a few more."
"Send these two to the birdcage first."
Bruce and Jaydon were checking the birdcage.
"Swoosh!"
A rough and razor-sharp arrow suddenly shot over.
When Bruce heard the sound of the razor-sharp arrow cutting through the wind, he reacted quickly,
sidestepping to avoid it. The arrow landed in the grass behind him.
"Oh no. We must have alarmed the island's indigenous people."
"What should we do then?" Jaydon and Aria instantly tensed up.
Actually, with the skills of the three of them, coupled with the fact that they had brought so many
advanced weapons, there was no need to be afraid at all.
However, they were all well-educated and would never kill innocent people indiscriminately.
"Be careful, everybody!"
"Ouch!" Aria took a few steps back and stepped on a snare, triggering the mechanism.
"Bang!"
Her ankle got caught in the snare. She was instantly lifted upside down and hung on the tree.
"Be careful!"
Aria was also quite nimble. She immediately took out a dagger from her sleeve and cut off the vine
around her ankle.
Then, she jumped to the ground.
"Whoosh. Whoosh. Whoosh..."
A few rough and razor-sharp arrows shot over.
In the underbrush, some indigenous people with feathers on their heads and various colors of mud
powder on their faces discreetly emerged.
"Calm down. Calm down. We mean no harm!" Bruce and Jaydon raised their hands, trying to explain in
Antlenish.
Unfortunately, these indigenous people could not understand what Bruce and Jaydon said at all. They
could not understand Bruce and Jaydon's gestures either.
Moreover, they had a strong sense of territoriality. They did not allow outsiders to set foot on their
island at all.
Seeing this, Miya immediately rolled up the tip of her tongue and let out a strange cry from her throat,
"Auororowoo..."
These indigenous people were initially just looking at them vigilantly. Now that they heard the alarm,
they immediately panicked.
One after another, they picked up their homemade weapons and assumed a ready-to-attack stance.
