Chapter 247
After saying that, Shakira went to sit by the window in the third cow. Everyone was confused. They had expected Shakira to kick out the shameless Berry, but instead, she just gave up and went to sit next to Kyle. Berry thought, 'What? She gives up so easily? Looks like she's sti sensible. Berry was about to burst out laughing. But her joy didn't last long since she soon heard Walter's cold voice demanding, "Move away!" Berry was stunned. She said, "Mr. Lopez?" As she met his cold a ruthless eyes, she felt a chill rush from her feet to her head.
Not daring to stay any longer, she quickly got up with her hands nervously grabbing the hem of her clothes.
She timidly wondered what had upset Walter so much. The next moment, she saw that this ruthless man eagerly wheeled himself over to Shakira's row.
Walter smoothly settled into the aisle seat. He noticed that Shakira hadn't buckled her seatbelt, so he leaned over to help her.
With a clear sound, Shakira smacked his hand. The sound was so crisp that it made everyone in the first-class cabin gasp, worried about Shakira. Walter's restrained anger was like the calm before the storm. However, Walter didn't hesitate after being hit. He quickly fastened her seatbelt and adjusted its length. Only then did Shakira turn her head and silently stare at him, Walter's gaze was also intensely fixed on her. After a while, Walter's tense body suddenly relaxed, and he spoke in a deep voice, "I was wrong." His words shocked all the people who were unintentionally holding their breath.
They thought, 'What the hell? He didn't get angry and even apologized?!' Even Calton was stunned. Throughout his life, he had never seen anyone stand up to Walter so boldly, get away unharmed, and even make him apologize. Calton even doubted if he was in a dream. The shocked crowd tried to hear more, but Walter had already leaned in to whisper in Shakira's ear, leaving their curiosity unsatisfied. Despite that, this couple still made everyone jealous. Kyle couldn't help but cover his mouth and chuckle.
Then Kyle glanced at Berry, who was standing still, and became aloof again. He said, "I'm not used to sharing a seat." He was implying, "Get back to your economy seat."
Berry gritted her teeth, feeling so embarrassed. Everyone was staring at her mockingly.
Berry cursed in her mind. She clenched her fists, took one last glance at Shakira and Walter who were snuggling together, and walked away with frustration.
With the drama over, the plane was all set to take off. The flight attendant began the safety briefing, and Walter quietly held Shakira's hand tightly.
Shakira tried to shake off his hand disdainfully but failed. She rolled her eyes at him and said, "Humph, you realize you were wrong now? Trying to use Berry to upset me? That's never going to work!"
Walter pursed his lips. He was known as a decisive big shot, but now he was explaining patiently to Shakira in a gentle tone, "I know.
"I already wanted her to leave before, but when I saw you back, I got upset since you didn't answer my calls, so I just made the wrong decision out of anger at that moment."
He even made a sum-up and genuinely reflected on himself, expressing sincere regret. "I won't do that again. When you're wrong, I'll just wait for you to coax me. There's no use in arguing. It only makes you angry and I suffer a loss."
<
Shakira couldn't believe why she had heard. "What kind of loss did you suffer?"
Walter said seriously. "If you coaxed me, I could take the chance to ask for something or get compensated. But now it's turned into my fault, so I'm the one losing out"
Shakira was speechless. She thought. What a typical greedy capitalist. He can still manage to make it seem like he's the one suffering a loss under such circumstances.
Seeing that Shakira was still not willing to talk to him, Walter felt a little helpless. He said, "If you have to get something, just ask Brian to get it." Shakira said, "I didn't expect to wait so long"
Shakira took out her phone to switch to airplane mode and finally saw Walter's calls. She said. "I was in a rush going through security, and my stuff was a little messy, so I couldn't take the calls." Walter glanced up at the overhead compartment casually and said, "What's inside there?" Shakira blinked and answered casually, "Just something a girl needs for a trip to the island." Walter frowned. Then Calton, who was sitting in front, suddenly popped his head over with a salute to Shakira, and his eyes were filled with admiration and respect.
He said, "Ms. Nelson, you're incredible! You've managed to tame Walter such a scary beast."
Calton leaned forward playfully and asked curiously, "Do you have a secret? Can you share it with me so I don't get controlled in my future relationships?"
He was actually teasing Walter. "That's easy," Shakira raised an eyebrow and said. "Just don't meet someone like that."
Calton was momentarily stunned and then burst into laughter. Walter pushed him back into his seat disdainfully.
Three hours later, the group arrived at Silverwave Bay Airport. A pre-arranged business shuttle was ready to take them to the Silverwave Bay Hotel to check-in.
Walter and the other men would stay in the presidential suites on the top floor, while Shakira would share a business suite with Xanthe.
It was already past 2 a.m. Shakira texted Xanthe, who was about to fly over, and told her that she had arrived safely. Then she washed up and fell asleep soon.
When she walked up naturally, it was already 11 a.m. the next day. Shakira yawned, noticing that Walter had messaged her two hours earlier to ask if she was awake.Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
She lazily leaned against the headboard and typed: [I've just woken up. Why didn't you sleep a bit longer?]
Walter replied: [Had the company's annual summary meeting this morning. It's just finished. What would you like to eat?] Recalling the tips Xanthe had sent her earlier, Shakira texted: [I've heard the roast chicken here is pretty good. I'd like to try it.] She thought, 'If it's good, I'll learn how to make it and let my masters and Sean try it back home."
Walter quickly replied: [Okay. Go get ready. We'll leave in fifteen minutes.] Shakira sent an "OK" and quickly got up to wash up and change her clothes.
The two of them got into the car and chatted for a while. Shakira soon noticed a gigantic natural stone fence up ahead, -carved with two bold words: Silverwave Church.
Silverwave Church was quite famous in the country, always bustling with visitors. Feeling confused, Shakira asked, "Aren't we going to eat roast chicken? Why are we going to a church?"
Walter said casually, "The best roast chicken in the whole Silverwave Bay is at the church." Shakira's eyes widened in disbelief.
Meanwhile, the Nelson family, who had arrived early to pay the respects, spent two hours chanting before resting in the back hall after their simple meal.
