Chapter 168
Chapter 168
Jayden had a plan in his mind. However, as he got out of the elevator, he was stopped by the Yates
family’s bodyguards.
He looked at Cecilia’s back and shouted, “If you don’t let me see Fiona, I will expose…” He didn’t say
the rest.
Cecilia knew he was going to say that if he couldn’t see Fiona, he would expose her humiliation.
If he wasn’t doing well, he wouldn’t let others do well.
Cecilia turned and looked at an extremely angry Jayden. Then she asked deliberately, “What are you
going to expose?”
Jayden raised his eyebrows with a smug expression, implying that she should know what he wanted to
expose.
Cecilia sneered and said, “If you can afford the Yates family’s wrath, then expose it.”
“The worst result is to be banned. I can afford that!” Jayden retorted.
It would be no different than being banned if he continued to lose
resources.
Jayden added, “Besides, whether to expose it or not, a jinx like you has no right to decide for Fiona!”
Cecilia knew Fiona well and knew that she would not be threatened.
But Jayden was right. The decision was up to Fiona.
“Just wait. I’ll ask Fiona.”
With that, she went to Fiona’s ward.
Jayden was no longer expelled, but he was not allowed to go far and had to stay near the elevator.
Cecilia saw Yvette feeding Fiona liquid food after entering the ward.
When Yvette saw Cecilia come in, she quickly greeted her. “Hi, Ceci. Come and have a seat.”
Cecilia placed the bag of ointments on the bedside table and looked at Fiona on the hospital bed.
Fiona’s face was a little flushed and her lips were dry. It looked as if she had a fever. Also, the gauze
on her face had bright yellow spots of inflammation.

When she opened her mouth to eat the oatmeal, the wound on her face hurt. Her forehead was
sweating from the pain, but she kept silent and ate one spoonful at a time.
Cecilia was worried and said, “Yvie, stop feeding her for now. I’m going to apply some of my medicine
to her. The effect of my medicine is much better than that of the hospital.”
Yvette trusted Cecilia completely. She quickly put down the container in her hand and looked at Cecilia
with admiration.
“Ceci, you are amazing. You can do anything.”
“The more you learn, the more you know.”
The pleasant smell of ointment filled the air as Cecilia took the ointment from the bag.
She did not apply the ointment to Fiona immediately but asked, “Do you want the hospital to test it
first?”
Fiona’s throat was still sore and her voice was hoarse as she said, “No, I trust you.”
“Okay, be patient. It will hurt a little when the gauze is removed.”
Fiona nodded.
Her stomach had been aching most of the night, and all her veins. seemed to be pulled tight, making
her feel worse than death. On a scale of ten, the pain was at least at level nine.
Since she had survived the worst, the injury on her face was nothing.
Soon, Cecilia took off the gauze.
The injury to Fiona’s face was originally a minor skin wound, but the fever had caused a purulent
infection.
Cecilia carefully wiped the ointment from her face and cleaned it with antiseptic spray before applying
the ointment she had prepared herself. As soon as it was applied, the burning sensation on Fiona’s
face disappeared, leaving only a cool and refreshing feeling.
The faint scent of the ointment seemed to calm her nerves. Fiona felt a little sleepy after smelling it for
a while.
When Yvette saw that Cecilia did not intend to put the gauze on, asked, “Ceci, is it okay to leave the
medicine without the gauze?”
she
Cecilia closed the bottle cap of the ointment and nodded. “Yes, it will heal faster with some air. This
ointment can also be used on gunshot wounds.”

Then, she put the ointment back on the bedside table and picked up another bottle of scar cream.
“Apply this scar removal cream after the wound has scabbed over. I assure you, there will be no scars
left on your face. As for the gunshot wound on your shoulder, if it leaves a scar, how about I tattoo you
with a rose with thorns?”
Fiona nodded gently. “That will do.” When she said that, she was so sleepy that her eyes almost
closed.
Cecilia got up and gave Fiona a simple head massage to help her refresh briefly.
“Have lunch first before rest.”
Fiona felt comfortable with Cecilia’s massage, and she soon became refreshed.
“Ceci, you’re really good at massage. Can you teach me?”
“Of course. When you get better, I’ll teach you. Now, you should eat before the food gets cold,” Cecilia
replied.
Yvette continued to feed Fiona the oatmeal.
Although the wound on her face still hurt when Fiona ate, it didn’t hurt as much as before.
After she had finished eating, Cecilia told her about Jayden, who was waiting at the elevator door.
“Jayden knows why you’re injured. He said if you don’t see him, he will expose your story.”
Fiona had long known about the characters of the Yancey family from Cecilia. Therefore, she was not
surprised at all when she heard that.
“Is Jayden trying to threaten me? In his dream! If he wants to expose it, let
him do it.”
She was the victim and had nothing to fear.
Yvette disagreed and said, “Fiona, you don’t understand those netizens. They are despicable, dirty,
and vicious. They won’t sympathize with you just because you are a victim and will only use your story
to create gossip. and spread nonsense.”
She thought there was no need to risk Fiona’s reputation to go
head–to–head with Jayden. There were many ways to deal with scumbags like him.

Fiona smiled and said, “Yvie, some people are greedy. If I compromise, they will think they have me in
their grip and will make me compromise again and again. Do you understand?”
Cecilia knew about that and the shamelessness of the Yancey family. That was why she rejected
Jayden without hesitation.
Some people would never be satisfied. If you gave them an inch, they would take a mile.
Yvette bit her lips and said unhappily, “Are you going to let Jayden ruin your reputation?”
Fiona looked nonchalant. “Let him ruin it. I don’t care.”
“Fiona, I know you are carefree and don’t care about anything, but Dad, Mom, and I don’t want you to
be judged,” Yvette said.
“But I don’t want to be threatened and let the instigator take advantage of
me.”
Yvette didn’t like that either, but she couldn’t think of a better way.
So she looked at Cecilia and said, “Ceci, you are smart and capable. Can you help us think of a
solution?”
Cecilia had rejected Jayden because she already had a way of dealing with
him.
She nodded. “Leave Jayden to me, but you have to buy me some time.” However, Fiona couldn’t be
bothered with an evil–minded bastard like Jayden.
“Ceci, I don’t want to see Jayden, so just leave the matter. If the jerk wants to come at me, let him!”
The Yates family had never taken the Yancey family seriously in the past, not to mention nowadays.
Cecilia looked at Yvette, who wanted to convince Fiona, but she didn’t know how.
She said to Yvette, “Go and tell Jayden that Fiona is seriously injured and needs to rest, so she won’t
be able to see him for the time being. Then ask him to wait for a call.”
In two days at most, Cecilia would dig up all the dirt on Jayden. After that, it would be easy to handle
him.
