Chapter 7
And so, I did the thing that my dad wished for me. Running the company that my dad owned Marshal Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

With that bitter thought of my parents in my mind, I entered my company. Everyone greeted me some
gave me their condolences, but I felt strange behind their sympathetic smiles I could see something
that they are trying to hide from me. I thought I could ignore it until I entered supposed to be my office
that used to be dad’s but now someone else is sitting.
“Who are you?” I asked him.
“Isn’t that the question I am supposed to ask you? Who are you to barge into my office like that?” he
asked me with annoyance clear in his voice.
“Mr. Carson...” comes Angel into the room, panting.
“Angel who is thi- Forget it just get him out of my office.” I command to my supposed to be assistant.
“Miss. Marshal, this is Mr. Carson, the current CEO of this company,” says Angel, making me angrier.
“Miss, this is Madam Carol’s order.” adds Angel
“Who is she to- “
“Oh, dear niece of mine, don’t tell me you forgot about me.” interrupts Aunt carol entering the office.
“Aunt Carol, please explain to me what the hell is going on.”
“Of course, sweetheart, you deserve that much after going through everything.” snickers Aunt Carol. I
can’t believe the sweet aunt who used to give me sweets and play with me in my childhood has turned
into someone I can’t even recognise now.
“Well, Katherine, here’s the thing. Since your parents had an unfortunate death-” says Au- no just
Carol, I don’t think she deserves to be given respect after addressing my parent’s death with no
sadness and looks at me with an evil glint in her eyes. Has it always been there or have I missed it?
“I don’t think your parents must have had the time to write the will, so now I have half of the shares of
your mother, that is my dear sister, anyway,” did she just said that last part with such disgust. Oh, my
god what more is there to be revealed. “Which includes 15% of her shares to me which adds to my 5%
share not to forget about my selfless brother your uncle Nat gave his share which is again 5% which
makes me have 25% share also your dad’s brother and sister also have their 5% each including your
dad’s half share which makes them have same shares as me. Since they are not as interested as me
to run the company in your mother’s name while there are many company under your dad’s that shares
also now belong to me which makes me the top shareholder though there is that 20% who actually has
more power than me though I have largest shares that mysterious person has been running the
company and profiting the company along with your father. Hah don’t worry, I will get that person,
eventually. That guy can’t stay mysterious for long.” She stops walking around me and now she stands
in front of me.
“So, after hearing all these do you still want to stand and compete with me or would you like to leave
with little dignity you have left in you. Or I can do a favour and give you a post in this company. I think I
heard there’s a post vacancy in janitors’ section.” She snickers and glares at me. “Do you want that or
do you want to run away, little girl?”
“People can’t laugh and spit on other people for long there will be a time when I get the chance to
return all the favours you have given me and that time I won’t even show the mercy that you don’t
deserve no matter how much good actor who have been in the past to be the sweet Aunt that I used to
fight with my parents to stay longer with.” I glare back at her.
“Oh, darling, don’t remind me how bratty you were, always clinging on to me asking for sweets. Now
get out before I call the security.” Says Aunt.
“Carol, don’t forget what you have said to me now because I won’t.” And with that I left the company
walking out with my head held high and ignoring all the sympathetic comments and sad eyes, though I
couldn’t miss that “She will come back with even bigger strength.” comment from Aunt jenny, who
cared me just like my mom and that’s the reason why she was friends with my mom. She gave me an
encouraging smile different from other’s sad smiles, and I returned her a smirk that said I-WILL-COME-
BACK.
