Chapter 78
"Call 911!
He just hit his head and now he's unconscious!" Emma Johnson briefed the household staff, intentionally downplaying the incident, before quickly leaving. She had done her part by bringing Ethan Carter back from the bar, and she didn't want to linger any longer. Just as Emma stepped out, the household staff quickly dialed 911 and then called Olivia Brooks. After all, Olivia was Ethan's official girlfriend and had every right to be
informed about the situation.
"Ms. Brooks, you need to come quickly! Our young master accidentally bumped his head and has slipped into unconsciousness," Aunt Mei, the housekeeper, hurriedly conveyed the message. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
"What? I'm on my way right now!" Olivia rushed over as soon as she received the news. When she entered the room, she found Ethan Carter completely drunk, his body reeking of alcohol-he must have drunk a lot. She squinted her calculating eyes and suddenly came up with an idea.
"Aunt Mei, I often treat you well, don't I?" Olivia said with a sweet smile, looking meaningfully at Aunt Mei.
"Of course, Ms. Brooks. If you need anything, just let me know," Aunt Mei replied, understanding what Olivia implied immediately. Leaning in closer, Olivia whispered her instructions to Aunt Mei, then pulled out a bank card from her purse and handed it over.
Just as Aunt Mei hesitated to refuse, the ambulance arrived. Putting on a reluctant expression, she accepted the card and assisted Olivia and Ethan onto the ambulance.
After the exhausting night, Emma returned home, refreshed herself briefly, and headed to bed. She had hoped to enjoy a late-night snack and a movie with her good friend Summer Thompson, basking in the quiet of the night, but all of that was shattered by Ethan Carter's antics.
Having gone through all that trouble, all she wanted now was a good night's sleep!

Sunlight streamed through the window, and Emma slowly opened her eyes, realizing it was already past eight. She, who typically woke up on time, had overslept-maybe it was because she was so tired last night. After stretching her sore arms, she hurriedly got out of bed.
After a quick wash-up, she rushed to the office. "Emma, why are you so late today? Luckily, Mr. Carter is sick and is in the hospital, so he won't be here," Rachel Smith said, approaching her with a hint of gossip.

Upon hearing about Ethan being hospitalized, Emma felt a pang of concern. Could it be because of her push last night that he was in this state?
"Oh no,
what if I caused a serious injury when I pushed him?" Emma fretted internally.
"Emma, what's wrong?" Rachel noticed Emma's distracted expression and called out to her again.
"I'm fine, just a little lost in thought," Emma replied sheepishly, scrambling to find a
reason.
"Alright then, I'm off to work. Let's grab dinner together tonight!" Rachel said before heading back to her workspace.
Emma continued to ponder over the incident. As she retraced her steps, she recalled that she hadn't exerted much force last night. Ethan wasn't fragile; how could he be this weak? She reassured herself, believing everything would be fine. Similar stories
