Chapter 198 Call The Police

Chapter 198 Call The Police

The blood on the ground stung William, who picked up Jane and went straight to the room.

Pregnant women were often emotional. Seeing miscarriage might cast a shadow on her.

William blamed himself for bringing Jane here. These women were all drama queens.

"I'm fine."

Jane was dizzy at the blood and her legs went weak. After drinking some water, she felt much better.

She and Pearl were outside the room and did not see what happened.

"Andrew asked me. But I didn't know because I didn't see it with my own eyes."

Jane was not sure. She felt Daisy didn't push her. She could not point her finger at Daisy based on her

speculation.

When the incident happened, only Daisy and Sophia were in the kitchen.

Setting others up was nothing new. Some people were born ruthless.

"Don't you hate Daisy?" William asked.

William now knew a lot of women were fickle and Jane was among them.

"How should I put it? If she didn't play dirty and stayed away from me, I wouldn't hate her."

Pearl had taken revenge. Beating her up would be enough.

Even if Jane didn't like her, she couldn't do anything as it was a law-based society now.

So, she would compete with her in business. On other occasions, she would turn a blind eye to her.

William was lost for word. But as Jane recovered from the shock, he was relieved.

After a while, Pearl knocked on the door, but William didn't want to leave.

"I'll be with Janie. I thought you asked Robert out. He's here,"

Pearl said rather impolitely with plums in her hands.

William nodded. Before he left, he told Jane to call him if anything happened.

"Janie, you know what? I'm so excited. I must be one of the few who dares to talk to him like that. It felt

so great!" Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

She talked down to William and he didn't say anything. A proud man like William was under her

command!

"Really?"

Jane ate a plum, which was tasty, sweet, and juicy.

She narrowed her eyes in enjoyment and ate a few more. "Robert is here?"

Sophia said, "Yeah. When he came here, he saw Mr. Andrew carrying Sophia out and the blood in the

kitchen. He said the odds were against Sophia. Miscarriage is inevitable."

Pearl sighed.

Harrison wouldn't let Sophia marry Andrew even if she gave birth to the child.

It was another thing if Keith could stand up for Sophia.

But apparently, Keith didn't like her very much.

"But what if ... Daisy didn't push her?"

If Daisy hoped to get rid of the baby, she could choose a remote place rather than the kitchen where

anyone could enter at any time.

"But they were quarreling, pushing and shoving."

Pearl shook her head. In any case, Andrew believed Daisy was the one who did it. Even if Daisy

married him, life would not be easy.

Before she got married, her future husband already disliked her. Daisy would become a laughingstock.

If Andrew took a step further and had an extramarital affair with Sophia, things would be even worse.

Marriages between rich families were formed based on common interests. They couldn't care less

about love.

Wives of rich men had to be tolerant. Otherwise, she would live a miserable life.

"Now that Sophia had a miscarriage, she will take advantage of that, pretending to be wronged. Mr.

Andrew will soften.

Pearl saw through Andrew. On the outside, he was carefree and even flippant. But deep down inside,

he was loyal and sincere.

He was loyal to his friends and lover. Sophia knew that and made good use of it.

"Janie, what do you think?" Pearl asked.

"I only know men hate being deceived because it hurts their ego."

Sophia shook her head. Pearl was correct about Andrew's personality, but he would hate Sophia if he

knew she had manipulated him.

What had happened on Princess Faith was too coincidental.

Back then, Jane was too busy and consumed to think about why. But now, everything became clear.

She would rather believe Sophia was behind it.

Daisy was so naïve that she wouldn't be able to tell Sophia was the culprit, let alone fight back. Even

Jane was more sophisticated than her.

"Mrs. Cart put a hallucinogen in her drink. The dosage is high, and Sophia can't keep the child

anyway," said Jane.

When Sophia got pregnant, Jane asked Robert about her condition.

He did a test for her. If the dosage was low, the baby would be fine. But when the dosage was high,

she shouldn't keep the baby.

"You mean...," said Pearl.

Pearl was astonished.

"We didn't see it and we can't say for sure. I'm just saying there's a chance that Sophia slipped on

purpose to set Daisy up," said Jane.

Everything was possible. Jane didn't want to take sides and wrong anyone. She only hoped to find out

the truth. After all, miscarriage was a big deal.

The incident ruined the meeting between William and Robert.

When they were playing gold, they got a call from Andrew and knew Sophia had a miscarriage and lost

a lot of blood. She was in danger.

The doctor said she wouldn't be pregnant again.

"I saw a police car just now," Jane said.

Having recovered from the shock, Jane wanted to go home.

"Andrew called the police, accusing Daisy of intentional injury," said William.

The police got involved and took Daisy away. Everyone was watching and no one stopped them.

Guests spread the word. Even Colin had known what had happened.

"Grandpa just asked me to take you home," he continued.

Colin also warned her against coming to such events again. But William decided it was better not to tell

her.

No one could anticipate such an incident. William was in a bad mood.

He pulled a long face. Only when he was with Jane would he be gentler.

"William, the police asked Jane and Pearl to assist the investigation,"

Robert said at the door, wiping away his sweat.

The incident of Sophia falling and having a miscarriage wouldn't be a big problem if the Carts managed

to cut the losses in time.

However, someone spread the news intentionally, trying to attract attention.

When Sophia became conscious and knew she could never be a mother, she climbed to the rooftop,

attempting to commit suicide.

"Damn! Why?"

Robert was distressed. He just wanted to play basketball, but the accident happened, and Jane and

Pearl got involved.

Pearl could fall sick at any time and Robert was worried about her. He was in a terrible state.

William's face darkened. It was Sophia who had a miscarriage. It had anything to do with Jane.

He didn't want her to go to the police station for the investigation.

"Where is Daisy?"

Jane fully recovered from the shock. She sat up, grabbed his arm, and said softly, "I have to help the

police officers. I will be back in a moment. We will go back home very soon."

Daisy was still at the police station.

She couldn't leave unless everything was clear.
