Chapter 217 No Wonder You're a Superstar
Chapter 217 No Wonder You're a Superstar
Samuel had left for work, leaving without telling her.
She threw back the covers in disappointment. His actions annoyed her.
After showering, she walked downstairs to have a quick breakfast. Ella noticed that
Samuel had hired two new maids, for an unknown reason. From the way they address each other, Ella
guessed that they might be aunt and nephew.
But she didn't think too much of it. She finished her breakfast, changed her shoes and left.
As soon as the door opened, the gentle old lady, who was her new maid stopped her, "My Lady, Mr.
Shao has left a car key for you."
"Okay. Thank you." Ella surveyed the key, which seemed to be the key to his Audi. She approached the
garage to find the car waiting for her.
'But what car did he use to go to work with?' She wondered.
But despite this gesture, she was still angry because he left without a word in the morning. Before she
started the car, she messaged him.
"I'm angry at you. You are in so much trouble!"
But she got no reply at all, which left her speechless. She felt aggrieved that Samuel had broken his
promise again. She was planning to go to her brother's place later on, to see her beautiful daughter.
She felt more and more aggrieved because she thought he had abandoned her. As a result, Ella had All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
made up her mind not to go back to The Royal Mansion that night.
When she arrived at the filming site, she found many people staring at her oddly.
She didn't realise what had happened until some of her friends, gathered around.
"Ella, no wonder you're a superstar. You're so generous."
"Yeah. Impressive!"
"Thank you for your lucky money. We can have steaks today."
Lucky money?
What had happened? Ella was completely confused.
Last night when it was her turn to send a red envelope, Samuel had taken away her phone. He had
used it for some time. Had Samuel sent a red envelope then?
She smiled, but reluctantly said, "You're welcome!" As she conversed with the others, Ella checked her
chat history.
After quite some time, she finally saw the red envelopes sent from her account.
She counted ten envelopes that contained large sums of money.
Everyone was excited by her generosity. Sometimes some people would give a large sum too but not
as she had at one go.
Well, she wasn't generous. But Samuel was.
It was just past noon when Ella, who was having lunch, got a reply from Samuel. 'Honey, I was held up
in court and I just read your message. What's wrong?'
Ella sneered, but cooled down immediately.
She didn't reply, though. On the other hand, Samuel had just sent a message over lunch and soon after
threw himself back to work.
Consequently, Ella didn't reply, nor did Samuel, which caused her anger to flare up again.
At dinner, Samuel suddenly remembered the message from his wife. He checked his phone, but there
was no reply.
He called her, but Ella hung up.
He tried again, but she hung up as well.
Samuel stared at his phone wondering what he had done now.
How had he annoyed his baby? When he was about to make another call, someone knocked on his
office door.
It was his partner, who had finished dinner, and walked back to resume discussing the case. Soon,
Samuel pushed away the nagging question and focused on working out a solution for the case.
Ella felt sad when Samuel didn't call again.
So was this all the patience Samuel had for her?
It was almost seven when Ella finished working. Looking at her phone which hadn't rang again, she
went to her brother's house without hesitation.
She wasn't going to feel better until she had her lovely daughter in her arms.
She also couldn't wait to see her son.
Considering his attitude during the daytime, she thought he hadn't picked Jerry up yet.
It made her feel even sadder.
"Mom, are you okay?" Jane, who was playing on her iPad, heard her mother sigh a lot. So she
switched it off and crawled to her.
Hearing the concern in her daughter's voice, Ella smiled and rubbed her little head, "Jane, I'm okay. I'm
just missing your brother."
Luckily, Jane studied in the same kindergarten as Jerry, where they could often meet each other.
"My brother said Dad was going to take him home soon." But when would she stay with her father?
Ella felt sad when she heard the sadness in her daughter's voice. Jane had never seen her father. Was
she a cruel mother?
"Jane, I'm sorry. You will see your father soon, okay?"
Jane immediately cheered up, feigning being calm. She told her mother obediently, "It's okay. Mom. I
don't care. I haven't seen him anyway. I don't love him much."
But deep in her heart, she yelled loudly, "Mom! Mom! Please I want to see my father soon! I want my
father! I want him so much!"
"Yes. Jane. I won't keep you waiting for long." Her daughter was so obedient. Ella ran her fingers
through Jane's hair gently.
"Okay, Mom. Will Dad like me?" She asked carefully. She had met her father twice, but she wasn't sure
whether he liked her.
Maybe he did right now. But would he still like her after he knew she was his daughter?
She had watched a TV show where a rich man abandoned his own child because he feared that having
too many children would cause them to fight over property, which wasn't the case now, but Ella was still
scared, too.
Ella was shocked by her question.
But considering Samuel had always wanted a daughter, Ella shook her head to the affirmative, "Don't
worry, Jane. Your father will love you and take good care of you when he knows you."
Jane was relieved. She envied her brother so much because he could often meet their father.
But her brother and her grandma were also nice to her.
"Mom, why aren't you staying with Dad tonight?" She wished that her parents got back together, so that
they would be a family again, including her.
Even before Ella could reply, her phone rang.
Speaking of the devil, Samuel was calling. It was almost 9 p.m.
But Ella refused to answer the phone.
