Trouble in Paradise

Chapter 82

Nicholas leaned closer, glaring at me coldly.

"The grievances between us can't be explained in a few words. Even if we could explain ours, you and Claudia's cannot be."

I couldn't understand his logic at all. Why would two people who were destined not to have love torture each other by being together? Life was short, and it would be great if one could live to 80 or 90 years old. But my dad ended his life at 46. I didn't want to continue this entanglement with Nicholas. I had already wasted 20 years on him.

He would dismiss any talk of love between us, but I had to admit that I loved him. His entanglement now was more painful than my years of unrequited love.

No one could continue loving someone forever, and I wanted to move on. Yet, it was difficult now.

"There's nothing more between her and I. If I owe her anything, it's probably the title of 'Mrs. Hawk', but I've already stepped down. It's you who doesn't want to give it to her."

His hand clenched into a fist at his side, perhaps embarrassed by my words that revealed his dirty thoughts.

"Do vo

you want to step down because of Claudia, or are you eager to become someone else's wife? Pete's? Silas'? Or Captain Steele's?" As he questioned me, he leaned in closer.

I tried to push him away, but he grabbed my hand. I saw a fury in his eyes that I had never seen before. Even a glance made me turn my face away, feeling a dull pain in my heart.NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

In his mind, I was a woman who would so eagerly cuckold him upon the breakdown of our relationship despite my being his wife for many years. I was that kind of person to him. "Ariana," he said, gripping my chin to make me look at him.

With a seductive voice spilling from his thin lips, he continued, "In my world, there's no divorce, only widowhood. Other men are not allowed to even sleep with the women that I've been with." He squeezed my cheeks, forcing my mouth open. I tried to retort but could only make muffled whimpers.

"Mrs. Hawk, don't be too good at seducing," he remarked.

He reached out and lightly brushed his fingers across my forcibly exposed tongue. A strand of glistening saliva stretched out between us, sparkling translucently in the twilight.

The next second, his moist, soft tongue forcefully invaded my mouth. He wouldn't let me close my mouth, treating it as a game of cat and mouse with our tongues.

At some point, he had pulled my towel off, leaving it crumpled on the floor. My face flushed with embarrassment, and my legs felt weak.

Just as he described, a naked woman leaning against a fully dressed man made for an extremely provocative scene. He deliberately led me to the full-length mirror.

In the mirror, his mocking smile reflected back at me as he indulged my body while watching me

surrender to him repeatedly. Only then was he satisfied,

When he finally let go of me, his face showed a hint of lingering desire. "Mrs. Hawk, don't let me catch you being ambiguous with other men again, or I'll make sure to satisfy you even more." Exhausted, I slumped to the ground and angrily hit his thigh. "I have nothing to do with anyone else! Don't think that everyone's like you."

"Ha!" He sneered and adjusted his tie in the mirror before slowly lowering his arm to reveal a damp, suggestive stain on his cuff.

"Mrs. Hawk, with an appetite like yours, you do sound over-confident right there."
