True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2126

Chapter 2126

Lowell frowned, he stared at Claudia's ankle with a serious expression on his face.

He then said in a milder tone, "Try to move. Come on, let me help you."

Lowell reached out to grab her ankle as he spoke.

"Hey, don't touch it!" Claudia immediately shouted in a painful expression. "Don't touch it. I think I really broke my leg."

Lowell thought that Claudia's scream was too exaggerated. He frowned and did not let go of her ankle, 'I don't think that it is broken. You are a police. Can't you stand even this kind of pain?"

"What?" Claudia immediately protested, "Do you have sympathy or not? Am I supposed to go through pain just because I'm a police? How many people can bear such a pain?"

"The problem is that it is not broken," Lowell spoke in a deep voice.

As he spoke, he even shook Claudia's leg. Usually, when someone's legs were broken, they would be in so much pain that they would definitely scream out in pain if it was being moved like that.

However, Claudia was still able to argue, protest, and refute against him. It could be seen that it wasn't that serious.Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.

Claudia was stunned. "You are not a doctor, and you are not an X-ray machine either. How could you be so sure that I didn't break it?"

"You should know clearly whether you broke it or not." Lowell stood up and looked down at her. "I know that you are just trying to buy time."

In order to give Kendrix and Sylvia half an hour, Claudia put on an act.

He lowered his head and showed no expression on his face.

Claudia twitched her lips in embarrassment, she realized that he had seen through her real intentions.

She stopped her acting and sat on the stairs. She looked up at Lowell and said, "How could you tell?"

"So, you're admitting to it now. You've been acting this whole time." Lowell retorted, "There is no such thing as a 'broken leg"".

"Oh, fine." Claudia nodded. "I did sprain my ankle, but I did not break it."

Even after hearing that, Lowell was still expressionless.

Claudia mumbled softly, "I thought that my acting is realistic enough. I did not expect you to see through my real intentions. How disappointing."

"I am not interested in acting with you," Lowell said in a low voice, "Let's go, it is time to go."

"However, I really haven't finished taking photos yet," Claudia said with a pitiful look, "Besides, we even agreed that we are here only for fun today. Look at the time, there is still a long time before lunch, are you going to go back on your words altogether? You said that you were going to treat my cousin to lunch."

"I won't go back on my words." Lowell's face was still expressionless. He went on, "Since we have already gotten what we want, then let's eat together at noon."

"It's still so early, yet you already want to go down," Claudia said, "I still want to eat here first."

"Let's go down the mountain and meet them at the parking lot first, we'll decide on where to go later," Lowell said.

Claudia pursed her lips. After some time, she stood up and walked down the stairs. However, she gasped.

Lowell frowned, it seemed like he wanted to say something.

Claudia immediately said, "I am not pretending this time. I really sprained my ankle. It hurts a little, but it's all right."

Regardless, the man from The Jones family just did not know how to care about a woman at all.

After that, Claudia stopped acting in front of him.

Lowell remained silent for a few seconds. He looked at how Claudia was walking, she was indeed limping.

It seemed that she really did sprain her ankle, but it was not as serious as she pretended it to be. However, it still affected her walking. "Do you need me to support you?" Lowell asked.

"What?" Claudia was stunned. She did not expect Lowell to be so kind to her. However, she shook her head at once and said, "There's no need for that, I can walk by myself."

Just like that, she hobbled down the mountain with Lowell. The two of them did not walk fast, and Lowell continued walking in Claudia's speed.

By the time they walked down the mountain road, half an hour had passed. Almost 40 minutes later, they arrived at the parking lot.

Kendrix and Sylvia had been staying in the car, engine turned on, throughout the whole period in silence. They had been sitting there for nearly 40 minutes.

When Lowell and Claudia showed up, Kendrix immediately saw them.

"Claudia and Lowell are back," Kendrix said.

"What?" Sylvia froze and asked, "Where?"

As she said, she looked up and found that the two of them were indeed right outside.

"Why is Claudia limping?" Sylvia asked.

When Kendrix saw that, he frowned.

"Did she sprain her ankle?" Sylvia asked, "Let's get out of the car."

"Sure." Kendrix nodded.

The two of them left the car together.

Lowell caught sight of Sylvia and Kendrix at once. After he was sure that Sylvia was safe, he finally felt relieved. Lowell sighed and then smiled.

Sylvia ran to Claudia's side like a hopping little bunny, she asked with concern, "Claudia, what happened to your leg?" "Oh, I sprained it," Claudia said. "But, it doesn't matter."

"I can see that you are not walking normally. How could it be okay? Shall we go to the hospital?" Sylvia squatted down to check on Claudia's ankle carefully. "Oh, it is red and swollen. This won't do, let's go to the hospital quickly."

As she was inspecting it, Lowell lowered his eyes to look at her too. A trace of worry could be seen in his eyes as he frowned.

It seemed like it was quite a bad injury.

Claudia shrugged. "There is no need for that. This injury is nothing."

"How could that be? I still think that we should go to the hospital," Lowell said, "It will be better to get it checked out."

"Didn't you say that I was just acting?" Claudia smiled and teased, "Why are you so concerned about me right now? I might find it odd." Lowell's face was filled with embarrassment too. He coughed and cleared his throat. He told Kendrix, "Mr. Trevino. Let's go to the hospital."

When Kendrix saw Claudia's hurt ankle, he saw that it was indeed a little red and swollen.

"I think you'd better go to a hospital."

So, that was that. Everyone decided to take Claudia to a hospital for a checkup so that they could evaluate the degree of seriousness of her sprained ankle.

When they were about to leave, they met with another problem.

That was because they had two cars, and it did not feel right no matter how the sitting arrangement was.

However, Claudia insisted on getting in Lowell's car.

Sylvia still secretly looked at Kendrix reluctantly.

When he saw that, Lowell said, "I

think that we should just drive one car. It won't be easy to find a parking at the hospital. One person will have to park the car while the others will accompany her for a checkup."

"I agree with your proposal very much, Mr. Jones," Claudia said with both of her hands in the air.

So, they got in the car which Lowell drove. Kendrix sat in the front passenger seat, while Claudia and Sylvia sat in the back.

After 20 minutes, they arrived at the hospital.

Lowell stopped at the parking lot. Kendrix and Sylvia brought Claudia for an X-ray inspection.

Soon, the results were out. Fortunately, she did not break her bones. Only her muscle tissue was swollen after being sprained. There was some internal bleeding too, which was why it turned red and swollen.

"Good thing your bones are fine." Sylvia heaved a sigh of relief, then she asked Claudia, "What happened to you back there? Shouldn't a police be

very agile?"

Claudia pursed her lips, she looked

at Kendrix with a look of disdain. "Don't bring it up. I also thought that

I'm agile, so I was just trying to put on a show to buy more time for both of you, but I played myself and ended up hurting myself."

The moment she said that, Sylvia's face turned bright red at once.

She felt so guilty.

At that moment, she did not know what to say, she blushed and hid her gaze, she dared not look at Kendrix's face. Kendrix glanced at Claudia nonchalantly. Not only did he not thank her, he even blamed her for that. "You deserved it."

Claudia immediately pursed her lips and said, "Must you be so heartless?"

"You made your own decisions, so you should be punished by your actions," Kendrix said.

"All right then, I knew that you wouldn't be grateful to me."
