Chapter 2189
Chapter 2189
Sylvia didn't expect Kendrix to guess her thoughts so easily. She couldn't deny that was exactly her plan.
Seeing the girl fall silent, he knew he was right. She still had trouble trusting him, huh?
"Will you be able to handle it if you don't tell me?" Kendrix asked lightly.Têxt belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
"Of course I can," Sylvia said resolutely.
"So, your way of handling it is to have Chigo accompany you guys?" he retorted.
Pursing her lips, she mumbled, "He's with Sebastian; I walked with Claudia. It's not like I'm shopping alone with Chigo."
In other words, he didn't have to be so petty, did he?
How could Kendrix not tell her underlying words?
"You think I shouldn't be petty and mind because there are four of you, and you're not walking with him, isn't it?"
"Yeah, I really don't think you should be this petty." Sylvia expressed her thoughts, "Besides, you also told me not to always look for you. Isn't it all because I'm worried you'd tell me off for always disturbing you and making things difficult for you."
For some reason, Sylvia thought whatever she said seemed to be wrong.
Was she not considerate enough?
She didn't think so.
Besides, how would she know how Kendrix would take the matter anyway? Regardless, he was all she wanted.
But the way he asked her seemed as though he didn't trust her. The notion got her a little hurt, thinking he got it all wrong.
He'd ignore her and throw vague flirtatious hints at her before they became a couple.
However, now they have gone steady, they still hadn't gone out as a couple despite video chatting every day.
No dates, no rendezvous, nothing.
As it was underground love, so of course, she naturally thought things could only be like this dating him, only video chatting if she missed him dearly.
But even if that was all they did, Sylvia was still gratified. After all, he had already become her boyfriend.
She fully understood Kendrix's concerns too. After all, it wasn't suitable for them to make their relationship public at the moment.
She was still underaged, and Kendrix still had a month until before he stepped away from his position as her teacher.
Under such circumstances, it wouldn't do them any good to make their relationship public, no matter how.
Thus, she thought telling him would only add to his troubles. Besides, she could sort her relationship with Chigo well, and nothing was going on between them anyway.
However, his question had her thinking he didn't trust her enough.
Seeing he only looked at her in silence, Sylvia muttered again, "I was only thinking for your sake. I was worried you'd be affected if we met in public. Besides, there's no romance between Chigo and me, so you have to trust that I can sort this out myself."
Sylvia's comment about having no romance between Chigo and her pleased Kendrix, and hearing the accusation and grievance in her tone, a hint of a smile flashed across his eyes. "Alright, I know. Aren't you hungry? C'mon, let's eat."
They reached the barbecue restaurant in no time; it was just at the corner of the street. The restaurant was a hit with night owls; despite it being the end of the holidays, it was still packed with people.
When the two of them entered, they immediately attracted a lot of attention.
As they were both good-looking, plus Kendrix was exceptionally tall while Sylvia was stunning, they naturally became the center of attention walking side by side.
They found an empty table in the corner which would fit the group perfectly.
So the two made their way there.
Kendrix first ordered some food for Sylvia before he ordered tea for everyone.
Sylvia couldn't help asking, "Are you not feeling well? Why did you order tea?"
Kendrix narrowed his eyes as he looked at her, making her heart skip a beat at his fathomless gaze.
Sylvia admitted she was defenseless against his every gaze, blushing every time.
Kendrix said, "It won't do you good to eat at such a late-night anyhow. The tea is to help with your digestion."
"Oh." Sylvia was embarrassed and surprised at how attentive Kendrix was, muttering under her breath, "How did I not know you even know this."
All smiles in his eyes, he had her sit next to him and even pulled out the chair for her, all gentlemanly. "That's why you need to get to know me more."
Sylvia's face turned redder at his reminder. "He probably isn't truly angry when he asked like that, right?" She thought.
Seeing he wasn't too upset knowing Chigo had joined them, or at least more tolerant than she thought, she was much more at ease.
After adjusting her mood, she said, "I am trying, just not good enough of an effort, it seems."
"I know you can do better," Kendrix said.
"But will you give me that chance?" Sylvia said, "I mean now. Do we not need to avert suspicion?"
Kendrix looked at her, having a good idea of what she was trying to say.
Nodding, he said, "Depends on the situation."
"This is so exasperating." Sylvia turned to him. "Take today, for example. Should I let you know if I bump into Chigo or if similar situations happen?" "Yes, and at once." Kendrix reiterated.
"What about Claudia?" Sylvia asked. "I bumped into her at the airport today, and this was a last-minute decision As for Chigo, Sebastian was the one who invited him; I had no idea." "I wanted to tell you, but I'm also worried about our situation since I didn't tell Claudia. So I don't know if I should tell her we're
preparing to be in a relationship."
"What do you mean we're preparing?" Kendrix looked at her flushed face. "Aren't we already dating?"
"But we're restricted by age." Sylvia felt dejected.
Although they were dating, a lot of their actions were restricted.
Tugging the corner of his lip, Kendrix said, "You can just come to me. As for how I will deal with it, it depends on the situation."
"Oh." The bright girl she was, Sylvia understood immediately, saying with a smile, "You mean, It's on me what I tell you, but it's on you how you deal with it, right?"
"Smart girl." Kendrix grinned.
"Doesn't that mean you're still the one calling the shots?" Sylvia thought Kendrix still disregarded her.
"And what's wrong with that?"
Kendrix retorted with a bigger smile.
"First of all, I'm older than you, which
means I've seen more than you have, so I can absolutely be your
guide. Plus, I'm lucky enough to be your teacher; that counts as being your beacon, no?"
Sylvia's eyes widened with surprise, looking at Kendrix. He had said so many.
She didn't expect Kendrix to be loquacious.
So much so that Sylvia gawked at his lips until she forgot to respond.
"But, shouldn't it be ladies first?" Sylvia widened her eyes.
Staring at her gorgeous face, he smiled, speaking with a deep, husky yet alluring voice.
"You'll have to wait until you're eighteen if you want to call the shots, alright?"
Sylvia blinked.
And her face turned crimson once more.
Why did she have a feeling Kendrix was implying something else? And he seemed very excited about it as well.
He emanated a captivating presence that could have her easily lose herself, only wanting to listen to him.
"Alright, I hope you can remember what you said today."
She'd just have to wait until she was eighteen to make a move on him.
