True Fated Marriage (Grace and Heinz)

Chapter 2208

Chapter 2208

When Sylvia got back to her room, she immediately returned Kendrix's call.

Kendrix answered almost immediately.

Kendrix's concerned voice came from the other end. "Have you arrived home?"

"Yes," she replied quickly. "I was talking to Mom for a while downstairs, that's why I only just got back to my room. I was planning to call you, but you beat me to it."

When Kendrix heard that he immediately asked, "Did your mom question you?"

Sylvia was stunned. "How did you know?"

"It's obvious, isn't it?" he answered, a hint of teasing in his tone. "Were you interrogated?"

"Not really." Sylvia smiled coldly and asked, "Are you disappointed?"

Kendrix paused for a while before replying. "Even if she didn't interrogate you, she must've asked you some questions, didn't she?"

"Yes, she did." Sylvia then told Kendrix what Grace had said.

After Kendrix heard that, he fell silent.

Seeing that he gave no response, she felt somewhat nervous. She was afraid that he would overthink, so she immediately explained, "My mom is actually an open-minded person, so don't worry too much."

"I know." Kendrix rubbed his nose, seeming to realize something. "I've seen your mother before. She's a very virtuous and gentle person."

"Then, why didn't you say anything just now? I thought that you were upset." Sylvia pouted.

Kendrix sighed. "It just feels a little awkward that your mom found out about something."

"Are you referring to what we did today?" Sylvia was embarrassed to mention the fact that they had kissed.

"What did we do?" Kendrix teased with a mischievous smile.

"You know what I'm talking about, so don't tease me. Otherwise, I'm going to ignore you," Sylvia retorted.

Kendrix smiled. "All right. Ignore me then."

"I won't."

She knew that he was good at pressing her buttons, and she was determined not to fall for it.

She quickly changed the topic. "By the way, did you go to see Claudia just now? How is she?"

"She's fine," Kendrix replied. "Don't worry. I know what happened to Claudia and what she has suffered. She'll be right as rain soon. That's the most basic quality of a police."

Upon hearing that, Sylvia heaved a sigh of relief.

She hoped that nothing serious had happened to Claudia. Otherwise, she would be worried.

"Are you sure she's fine?" Sylvia felt that Kendrix did not care about the setbacks Claudia had suffered. He was an indifferent and carefree person who did not care about anything at all. He did not even care about his own cousin. Were all men this slow on the uptake? Sylvia wondered.

"I went upstairs to see her. She's fine," Kendrix repeated. "Besides, there are some things she didn't want to talk about, so I couldn't ask much." Sylvia had no choice but to give up, and she did not press further. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.

Just like what Kendrix said, perhaps Claudia was fine. After all, she had a strong character.

"Okay, I get it," Sylvia said. "Where are you now?"

Kendrix answered, "I'm back at my apartment in school, but I'm still in my car. I haven't gone upstairs yet." "Oh, that was quick," Sylvia replied, suspecting whether Kendrix had gone to talk to Claudia or not.

"I came back here after visiting Claudia."

It seemed like Kendrix could read Sylvia's mind, and he immediately cleared her doubts.

Sylvia stuck out her tongue, thinking that it was really amazing of him to be able to guess her thoughts, even through the phone.

"Well, go on up to your apartment then. I'm going to wash up."

"Okay," Kendrix answered. Then, he asked, "Will you call me again later?"

Sylvia wanted to, but Kendrix was always telling her to study hard. She could not bring herself to mention it just now for fear that he would say that she was not paying enough attention to her studies.

However, she did not expect Kendrix to take the initiative to ask if she would call him again later.

Did that mean that Kendrix wanted to talk to Sylvia again later? Sylvia wondered.

If so, that was simply too good to be true.

Unable to hide the joy in her heart, she smiled and replied, "Yes, of course. I want a video call later."

Kendrix agreed readily, seeming to be in a good mood.

Sylvia still found it hard to believe how much he had changed. She felt like she was dreaming, and it all seemed surreal.

She lightly pinched her cheeks to make sure that it was not a dream, then she laughed.

She quickly went to the bathroom

and took a quick shower. Then, she stood in front of the mirror and took a good look at herself. Her skin was glowing and radiant, and her lips were rosy. Her natural beauty was like a breath of fresh air.

When she saw herself in the mirror, she was stunned.

She could not help thinking how beautiful she was!

It was like she had stepped straight out of a painting!

She was really breathtakingly beautiful.

No wonder Kendrix could not help but kiss her when he saw her. It seemed that she had great charm.

She grinned, pleased, but when she thought about Claudia, she became worried again. She finally decided to call Claudia.

The call went through.

Sylvia sat on the edge of her bed as she dried her hair.

Soon, she heard Claudia's voice on the other end. "Sylvia, have you returned home?"

"Yes," Sylvia said. "I just took a shower, but I haven't changed my clothes yet."

"What a coincidence. Me too," Claudia replied with a chuckle. It was impossible to tell that Claudia was feeling down from her tone. On the contrary, she seemed to be very calm.

"Did Mr. Trevino look for you after I left?" Sylvia asked.

"Oh, he did," Claudia said, "He said that you kept asking him to check in on me. Actually, there's no need for that, I'm not a child. I have gone through many ups and downs before."

When Sylvia heard that, she heaved a sigh of relief, glad that Kendrix had indeed gone to check on Claudia.

However, she pretended to be displeased and asked, "Are you calling me a child?"

"It's the truth! You're not yet an adult," Claudia said frankly.

"Claudia!" Sylvia clenched her teeth.

Claudia laughed. "Okay, okay. I was just teasing you."

"I'm going to ignore you!" Sylvia threatened.

"Don't do that. I'm sorry," Claudia said with a smile.

"I know that you're very worried about me, and I'm very grateful."

"Well, I'm glad you're fine. I'm going to hang up now. Take care of yourself, okay?"

"Don't hang up yet," Claudia said. "There's something I want to ask you."

"What is it?"

"Are you in a relationship with Kendrix?" Claudia asked.

Sylvia immediately felt guilty. "No. How could that happen?"

"Bullsh*t!" Claudia burst into laughter. "I can already feel something brewing between the two of you."

"What's brewing?" Sylvia asked. She would never admit to it, nor did she have any reason to do so. "I told you. We're not in a relationship yet. However, I, for one, want to get it rolling."

Claudia smiled and said, "Kendrix has definitely changed. Don't think that I can't tell. You two must have done something that I don't know, but if you don't want to tell me, I'll respect your decision."

"It's not that I don't want to say it, I just don't know what to say." Sylvia felt that she was telling the truth. She really did not know what to say.

"It's okay. I know that you're shy." Claudia replied.

"Whatever it is, I'm happy for you. I don't want to embarrass you anymore, so hurry and hang up. I guess that you're anxious to hang up because you want to call Kendrix, right?"

"Fine. Since you're not calling him, then I'll call him right after this." Claudia said.
