Twisted Ties of Love

Chapter 421

"It's been two years already."

"Do you know how long our matron has been here?" Casey curiously asked.

The old man replied, "A long time, at least twenty years. She dedicated her youth and life to these kids."

Casey couldn't figure out why Brett sent him to meet the orphanage matron. Did he have some connection with the kids there?

After thinking for a long period of time, Casey finally filled out a form and handed it to the old man.

"What brings you here?" the old man asked.

"I'm here to discuss some matters with the matron, and also talk to her about making a donation."

Just then, the matron got the news. Seeing Casey, she was taken aback.

She knew that this was Casey, the hottest actor in Hollywood. But seeing his face, she couldn't help but think of that big fool, Ryker Dempsey.

Her eyes reddened at the thought of Ryker, who had died at sea. She knew that he was mentally challenged, so why did she let him leave the orphanage? If she had kept a better eye on him, Ryker might not have been kidnapped.

There were other staff and volunteers with the matron.

They recognized Casey and some couldn't help but scream, "Mr. Dempsey, it's Mr. Dempsey, how come he's here alone? Casey, can you give us an autograph?"

If it was just one or two people asking for his autograph, it would be okay; but as they couldn't hide their excitement and started to scream, the kids who were around them got attracted to that spot. Casey was very popular, from five-year-old children to seventy or eighty-year-old ladies, even if they hardly knew him, they would like him just by his looks.

The matron promptly stopped them, letting the staff take the kids back, to keep quiet.

Even though the matron was usually gentle, when she really got angry, the kids would definitely obey her commands.

After the crowd left, the matron took Casey to her office.

Casey looked around, although that was his first time there, he felt very familiar with the surroundings as if he had seen it in a dream. The orphanage was like a spacious kindergarten, with children's entertainment facilities, and cute graffiti on the walls. Surprisingly, the outdoor scene was also very well set up, with many bright flowers which were enough to cheer anyone up.

The matron didn't know how to start the conversation, partly because of his status, and partly because he looked too much like Ryker.

She silently poured Casey a cup of hot coffee, placed it in front of him, and after a period of silence, she said, "You."

"Matron, I came here to ask you a question. Was there someone in the orphanage who looked a lot like me?" Casey didn't like to beat around the bush because he had been thinking about that question while driving, and asked it directly after seeing the matron.

The matron was stunned, she wondered how Casey knew that.

Seeing the matron's expression, Casey thought to himself, "Could what Brett said be true?"

"There was indeed someone who looked very much like you, but he died five years ago."

"What was his name?"

"Ryker."

Hearing that name, Casey's heart skipped a beat. He stopped his hand from instinctively clutching his chest, instead he reached for the coffee cup in front of him.

The coffee was freshly brewed, and

box-office-smashing actor, and his acting skills were superb, even if he was uncomfortable inside, he

wouldn't let anyone see a trace of it

if he actually wanted to hide it.

The matron didn't notice Casey's emotional change, so she answered his questions one by one, and finally took out a photo album, pointing to a tall and thin man in an old T-shirt, "This is the Ryker I mentioned."

Casey looked over and was stunned for a moment. He had imagined that Ryker might look somewhat like him, but he didn't expect them to look almost identical, like twins.

Although they looked alike, they were definitely not the same person. In terms of appearance, Casey was obviously more outstanding, while Ryker mostly dressed like a simple person.

The orphanage had many photos, hundreds of pages in a thick album. Casey flipped through it, page by page, then suddenly asked the matron, "Do you know Izabella Salotti?" Casey waited for a while, but the matron didn't answer him, so he looked up at her.

Then the matron replied, "I don't know if the Izabella I know is the Izabella you're talking about. The Izabella I knew died three years ago, she was from the Salotti family, the Izabella that all women envied." When the Salotti family hadn't gone bankrupt, Izabella was a very outstanding woman, no less than any man. She struggled alone in R City and achieved great success.

There were too many people with the same name in the world, and the Izabella the matron knew had died three years ago, so she was obviously not the Izabella he knew, that person had nothing to do with him.

Just as Casey was about to breathe

a sigh of relief, he turned a new page and his gaze unintentionally swept over a photo. In the photo, Ryker was smiling happily with a woman. Casey's eyes were filled with

alertness, and the alarm in his heart began to ring.
