Chapter 394
Upstairs.
Clara was totally clueless about the things happening downstairs. She walked into the empty room, strangely not knowing what to do first.
That used to be her home, back when Emmett hadn’t entered her life and only Alex was running around her.
Looking back then, it wasn’t a long time ago, but a lot had changed.
Clara entered the second bedroom, gently touching the small bed inside. She missed Alex and Aiden!
She wondered what they were doing then, whether they were doing their homework of playing in the yard.
She didn’t know when she would see them next.
Clara took a deep breath and quickly slapped her face, “Clara, you need to pull yourself together; don’t be like this! Leah promised to send the kids over.”
But whether her words were trustworthy, Clara dared not bet on it.
She decided to figure things out by herself for the time being. If Leah could keep her promise, that would have been great. If not, she’d better been prepared!
She absolutely couldn’t let Leah harm the two kids. As their mom, she had to pull herself together for Alex and Aiden!
After briefly tidying up the room, Clara prepared to go out to buy some daily necessities.
Because she was taken away by Elio directly, there weren’t even any clothes or quilts there.
She didn’t want to wear any of the clothes Elio had bought before! She didn’t want to remember the things on the news.
However, before she could step out, she heard the sound of someone trying to force open the lock outside! This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
Who could it have been?
Could it be a burglar or someone sent by Leah?
Clara frantically looked around for something to defend herself with, quickly grabbing a baseball bat from the living room!
Before she could find a place to hide, the door was kicked open.
“Ah! Don’t come here! Don’t come here! I’m calling the police!”
“This… is this your place with Elio?”
When that familiar voice reached her ears, Clara felt like she was dreaming!
It was Emmett!
She didn’t hear wrong!
Clara quickly looked up, and sure enough, Emmett’s tall figure was standing at the door, his eyes staring straight at her.
He had lost weight and looked a bit worn out, but his powerful aura was still strong, and his eyes were deep and sharp.
Those eyes were no longer filled with past love, but full of hatred.
Yes, hatred. Emmett hated her.
“Why are you here?” Clara was taken aback, didn’t know what to do, and could only tightly grip the baseball bat in her hand.
Emmett walked over, step by step approaching her, “I’m asking you! Is this your place with Elio?”
“No, it’s not.”
“Not?” Emmett raised his eyebrows. He scanned her head to toe. She was thinner and looking pale.
But what did that have to do with him? She betrayed him. No matter what, she deserved it.
Clara said, “No, he didn’t live here.”
“He didn’t live here?” Emmett seemed to hear something ridiculous, “Don’t tell me, the phone call you made to me was under duress, or you have something to explain to me!”
After saying that, Emmett’s hand gradually clenched into a fist.
