Uncontrollable Fondness

Chapter 37 Send her away

Chapter 37 Send her away

Sophia’s delicate and weak body twitched in his embrace and turned and looked at him, “Those were in

the past, why mention about them, I hate to give others nicknames.”

Time really could change a lot of things. In the past, Sophia would have straight hair and mischievously

shout at him, “Rocky, Rocky.” Now Sophia has curly locks and slumped in his embrace calling him

softly, “William dear.”

Perhaps when women grew up, they’ll be more reserved. William didn’t want to think too much into it.

The beautiful eyes couldn’t cover the overflowing affection. He caressed her hair and smirked when he

thought about the past, “I didn’t expect that the first time we met would be at the drain behind the

house. At that time you said that you wanted to save me and in the end, you slipped and fell in. You

almost made me fall together with you. Haha, after that you found out that it’s because I was afraid of

blood that was why I couldn’t climb up. You were so scared and yet you had to encourage me. You

were so young then.”

“Scared of blood?” Sophia looked up at a loss and blinked.

William laughed deeply and hugged her tightly, “This was my deepest secret and was discovered by

you. But then in America, I went through therapy and resolved it…” All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

“Talk about the things that happened in America. I like to listen to them.” Sophia suddenly interrupted

him, while blinking her eyes. William lost his enthusiasm, “There’s nothing to say.” The days without her

was boring. He placed her down and covered her with the blanket. William looked at her and stood

upright.

“I need to go for a meeting, have a good rest, I’ll come tonight to accompany you.”

“William dear…” Sophia’s hand suddenly reached out and held his shoulder, refusing to let him leave.

Her small face leaned onto his arm and a soft and frail voice said, “William dear, have you started to

like someone else?”

William bent down to look at her and caressed her hair again and said, “How could it be, you are the

only one I love.”

“Then why did you bring her home, I know her, she’s the one I sent for a pregnancy surrogate.”

There was a slight awkwardness but William didn’t reveal his feelings and softly said, “I let her stay at

home to make it convenient for her to donate her bone marrow to you. Don’t overthink it.”

“William set her away!” Sophia suddenly said, her fragile face was insistent, “I don’t want her bone

marrow, I just want her gone!”

“Sophia, don’t be childish.” William was starting to get upset. Sophia already showed a look of crying,

“William, I know that you were with her, I can only blame my body… that I can’t fulfill your needs. I

know that you care about me and chose her to be a surrogate to make me happy. But when I thought

about someone able to fully replace me, I couldn’t stand it. William, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t be so selfish

but I love you…”

He wiped her tears and it was like touching pearls. His gentleness was so obvious. He lifted her head

and said with sincerity, “Sophia, trust me, you are the only one in my heart. No one can replace you. I

guarantee that after the bone marrow transplant is complete, I will let her leave. Once you recover we

will be together and by that time you can bear me plenty of kids.”

“Really? Can it really?”

The pale face finally had some pinkish hue and her eyes lit up. Sophia’s expression fell into William’s

eyes and into his heart. He grasped her hands and pulls them to his chest and nodded firmly, “Yes, our

blissful life will begin very soon.”

The door was opened and James walked in.

Sophia saw him and waved excitedly. James was smiling warmly and very different from his usual

serious expression. He looked at them embracing and raised his eyebrow and quickly glanced away.

He joked, “Look at you to displaying your affection for all to see, are you intentionally making single and

unwanted men like me envy you?”

Sophia started to blush and William didn’t bother about James. He kissed her forehead before saying,

“You James can have whatever type of woman you wish, stop your acting.”

James laughed and Sophia smirked and smiled as she eased off William’s embrace. She looked

decently at James and said, “James, William said that when I recover from this illness, I’ll be able to

bear him children. Is that true?”

“Give birth to children?” James started to smile, and after composing himself, “Yeah, of course.”

“Then quickly do the operation for me.” Sophia’s anxiety instead hurt James’s feelings. His face

twitched uncomfortably and bury his feelings for her even deeper.

It was his secret that he likes Sophia, even his best friend William doesn’t know. It started when he saw

her sitting pitifully at the drain behind the house.

She wore a princess dress that day and her curly hair was in a mess. Her face was scratched and her

hands full of mud. There was some blood on her princess dress and she was shaking like a lost little

bird.

What kind of woman can make the strange cold arrogant William fall for her? He didn’t expect that a

young kid that wasn’t more than ten years old. James wanted to tease her but when he saw her fear

and anxiety, he instead felt the need to protect her.

This protection continued until today. If Sophia didn’t remind him, he would have continued in his daze.

Actually, only he knew that this protection duty had already shifted to his friend’s responsibility. His

came from his love for her to protect her. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have studied medicine which he hated

and looked for the opportunity to travel the world with Sophia in search of a suitable place for her

treatment.

Soon she’ll be well and his services would come to an end.

He composed his feelings, blinked, and smiled like her closest elder brother, “Don’t be anxious, your

body is weak and you need to recuperate for a while.”

“Ah, you don’t understand, I’m dying of anxiety to get pregnant.”

Sophia sighed, William stood up and patted James three times in the back, “I have a meeting, I’ll have

to trouble eminent profession Davis to look after Sophia.”

William disappeared out of sight and Sophia sulked and took no interest to James. James walked over

to her and gave her a once over and said, “Sophia dear, I really don’t understand, how did Mia go to

your bedroom and how did she get the expired medicine.”

Sophia pouted and didn’t want to continue the topic, “I’ve already said this before. I needed to take my

medicine and she said that she’ll take the medicine for me. I don’t know what motive she had but what I

had taken was indeed expired medicine. This was discovered by you.”

“She doesn’t seem like a bad and evil person.” In his mind, Mia’s innocent and pure face flashed pass

and James could not connect her with an evil and scheming person.

Sophia was getting impatient and her face was cold and was entirely different from the delicate and

kind expression she had with William, “Then you are implying that I framed her? James, how did she

seduce you until you are so smitten by her?”

James tried to explain profusely but Sophia wouldn’t listen and said, “Get out, get out, I don’t want to

see you!”

She will never throw her little tantrums in front of William and will be an obedient little girl. But now in

front of James, she practically did whatever she wanted and would never give a thought for his

feelings.

He was worried that her mood will affect her health, James swallowed all that he wanted to say and

grabbed her hand and handed her the medicine, “Okay, okay, being angry will affect your health. If you

don’t recover, how will you be able to bear children for William?”

“Humph!” Only then did Sophia calm down and took the medicine given by him.

Mia had dinner by herself and as she was going upstairs, she heard Rebecca talking on the phone with

William. Sounds like he wouldn’t be back tonight and will be accompanying Sophia and instructed

Rebecca to prepare some clothes and send them over to him.

Sophia was so fortunate. She walked and sighed, knowing that William won’t be back tonight. She

washed herself up early and got into bed. She closed her eyes and easily recollected the events that

happened during the day.

She was scared, angry, and doubtful. Her memories seem to recover a lot. Many of what happened

before she was ten were covered with a curtain and could be unveiled with a pull. But how come she

couldn’t find the edge of the curtain. She could only see two fragments of her memory and couldn’t

completely reveal them.

What happened before ten? Her father didn’t allow her to ask. Mia’s childhood years were like a clean

sheet of paper without a single trace.

She only knew that Sam Charles was her foster father and did not have any memories of the rest.

“Rocky”, a boy who feared blood, what do these mean? The more she couldn’t figure it out, the more

she wanted to know. Mia wanted to piece the fragmented memories and it gave her a throbbing

headache.

She laid still in bed and don’t wish to recall any further.

Perhaps this was a never-ending secret.

When it was almost daybreak, there was a noise from the door and soon a person came in, stood by

her bed for several seconds, and then went to the bathroom.

Mia who was still half asleep wasn’t fully conscious and pursed her pink lips and turned her body.

Suddenly she felt a cold body pressed against her back and Mia was chilled awake. She opened her

eyes and saw a tired looking William.

“You…” Her voice was rasp and still very sleepy. The strong arms reached around her and pulled her

into his embrace.

Still groggy, Mia asked, “Aren’t you supposed to accompany your wife?”

“She’s asleep.” He answered simply.
