Chapter 45 Who is torturing who (2)

She held her hand to her chest to ease the pain. Several fingers were severely scalded. Sophia’s eyes

opened widely and looked at her hand. She smirked and started a bone-chilling laugh.

She stretched and grabbed her arm.

“Ah!” The pain was intense and Mia screamed and she winced in pain. Sophia’s sharp fingernails dug

into the blisters where she had been scalded and continued to laugh coldly.

She wanted to forcibly yank her hand out from her grasp but Sophia just wouldn’t release. She even

stretched out the other arm and grabbed onto her wrist. Apart from looking pale and some cold sweat,

her strength was unlike a sick person.

“Let go of me… You… don’t hurt yourself.” She was panting in pain. Mia could only beg and Sophia’s

condition was truly alarming.

Sophia didn’t seem to hear and continued to tighten her grip and her body began to tremble.

She didn’t want to struggle for fear that it will bring Sophia more harm. Mia bit her lips and forced

herself to endure the pain without moving. Sophia squinted her beautiful eyes but now they were

nothing but evil and murderous. Her fingernails already dug into Mia’s flesh and yet she laughed in

satisfaction while she’s pale.

“Mia, remember this, William, you can never touch!” Sophia began to breathe and her sharp eyes

glared at her.

Mia could only nod and would agree to anything, as long as she let go. Sophia continues to pant and

finally calmed down but her hand didn’t release her grip. Her expression was even colder and she

smiled, “I don’t believe anyone, especially you! Don’t think that you can have any chance of being with

William. No more, never ever!” She screamed the last few words. Mia could only look at her feet and

her body was ice cold as if she had fallen into an ice pit.

Her body was violently pushed away and she continued backward several steps. Quickly followed was

the drawing board being flung towards her and hit her on the face. It was so painful, so painful. The

drawing board crashed onto the floor. On the board was a drawing of a heart being ripped open and

bleeding.

She stared in shock at the drawing and looked at Sophia in disbelief. How could this delicate woman

have such a violent imagination?

Sophia was panting weakly as if she could faint at any moment. Mia erected the drawing board wanted

to support her but she pushed her away.

“Go away, don’t touch me!” Sophia was unimaginably stubborn. Mia couldn’t bear to and said, “Missus

Brown, you can hate me, punish me, but don’t let your body suffer.”

“Ah, is this your sincere words?” The pale face looked in disbelief and her unforgiving mouth continued,

“I think you definitely hope that I fall dead right this moment. If I die you will be able to have William all

to yourself!”

“No, I didn’t!” This was the truth, she didn’t even think of it in that manner. If possible, she wanted to

leave immediately! She walked forward and looked at Sophia sincerely, “Missus Brown, send me away. Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

With me gone from here, you won’t worry anymore. Rest assured that when the time comes I’ll be back

to donate the bone marrow to you.” Hatred aside, saving another life was a doctor’s duty. She was

clear about this.

Sophia’s mood didn’t warm up but continued in cold sarcasm, “Once you leave me you can freely

seduce William? Mia, you can truly scheme!”

“I did not!”

To Sophia, no words will be able to convince her. Mia felt that she needed to persevere, “Please,

believe me, I will not contact William, you can send someone to monitor me!”

“No…” a weak voice said, Sophia’s cold look was even more obvious in her eyes. “Even if you don’t

contact William, I will not forgive you. You had touched my beloved and must pay the price!”

Mia was speechless and didn’t know what else she can say. Her heart sank, sank, sank to a

bottomless pit. Her ears continued to be bombarded by Sophia, “I want you by my side, right in front of

me. Then I can torture you and prevent you from having any more contact with William…”

Sophia’s coldness was scary and Mia felt that she was not facing a sick person but a terrifying demon!

Perhaps, she needed to talk to William. The only person to convince her was him!

William was back during midday. Sophia’s cold eyes immediately turned into the pretty crescent eyes

and smiled at him tenderly, “William dear, why are you back?”

“I’m worried about you and came back to see you.” His cold eyes looked towards Mia. He was worried

about her! Her body stiffened and pursed her lips without talking. She quietly turned around and

prepared to leave.

“Mia, come over and sit here.” Sophia intentionally called her and patted on the chair beside her bed.

Mia wanted to reject but William’s cold eyes shot over, “Didn’t you hear her?”

She quietly walked back and sat beside Sophia but opposite William. William didn’t look at her and his

attention was all on Sophia, “How do you feel? You are rather pale, are you not feeling well?” He

touched Sophia’s face gently and tenderly. He was totally different from the monster who manhandled

her.

When he was with Sophia, he was gentle throughout and was from his heart. Mia couldn’t help but

envy Sophia.

Sophia was pretty as a flower and said, “I’m fine, Mia is taking good care of me.”

“Really?” From his tone, William clearly didn’t believe her. Mia drooped her head, not knowing what to

say. The whole morning Sophia wouldn’t let her close. Can she say that?

“Have you taken your medicine?” This time William asked her. Mia widened her eyes and was anxious,

bit her lips, and shook her head. Sophia wouldn’t take her medicine, wouldn’t do her treatment. She

had already tried numerous times.

The atmosphere immediately changed. William tensed up immediately and frowned. Sophia held onto

his hand and said, “Okay, okay, we forgot, don’t be angry and scare her.”

Mia opened her eyes wide in disbelief and shook her head.

“Bring the medicine!” William didn’t get physical because of Sophia. His tone was harsh. Mia rushed

over to get the medicine and some water. Behind her, Sophia’s sweet voice said, “Don’t be angry,

please for my sake. This is the first time for Mia to be a private nurse, she is inexperienced.”

“You are always thinking of others.”

William softly blamed her, and there was sweetness and praise for her. Mia could only sigh inside her.

Once she returned, William directly took the medicine and water and embraced Sophia, feeding her the

medicine one by one.

Sophia frowned, “It’s so bitter.”

“Honey, I’m sorry to let you suffer.” He softly kissed her forehead. In his embrace, Sophia didn’t forget

to look at Mia and laugh. Mia quickly turned away.

They hugged for a moment as if no one was around. William finally stood up and stroked her hair, “I’m

sorry Sophia, I have something on and need to go.”

“Okay, go William dear. I’m fine, with Mia here, you don’t have to worry.”

The sharp look shot over and was because he didn't trust her. Mia straightened her back in anger and

made a silent protest.

“You! Come out!” William turned and ordered.

“William dear, don’t scold her.” Sophia pitifully begged as she shook his arm. William brought up her

hand and kissed. “Have a good rest, I’ll try to come back early.”

In just a short hour, Mia was repeatedly chilled and burnt by William’s icy cold and fury. He was icy

towards her and warm towards Sophia.

She followed his footsteps out. She hoped that she can convince him to let her leave.

William kept walking forward until the end of the corridor before stopping. This was her last chance.

She needed to say her thoughts before William rages. She quickly said, “Mister Brown, I don’t think I’m

suitable to serve your wife. Please let me leave.”

He stared at her and a flood of expressions but they were all cold and furious. He ruthlessly glared at

her and said harshly, “Mia, what’s your heart made of? Didn’t I warn you not to harm Sophia? Do not

harm Sophia, what have you done?”

“I didn’t!” She rebutted angrily and felt hopeless. William will never believe her. What’s the difference

between saying and not saying?

His large hands swept over and her delicate arms were lifted and were pressed against the wall. Face

to face, he was furious and said to her face, “It’s not that you can’t take good care of Sophia, but it’s

you are intentionally torturing her!”

Was William blind? How can he be so blind to believe Sophia unconditionally? Torture, it was she who

was tortured! Furious, Mia’s eyes turned red and yelled, “William, so I can’t take good care of her, don’t

you have money? Go and hire a good private nurse, hire the best!”

“You…” He clenched his teeth in a display of his anger. Mia couldn’t be bothered anymore she

continued, “Your Sophia doesn’t want to hire a private nurse? Don’t you know why doesn’t she want?

Do you think that she was worried about spending your money? William, if you are so capable, go and

hire a private nurse. See which company’s private nurse is willing to take care of her!”

His lips were pursed even tighter, his face darkened further and his fists were clenched even tighter. He

almost wanted to twist off her shoulders. So be it if it was painful. Was there any difference whether it

was from him or Sophia?

Mia was pushed to the limit and was determined to say it all out, “Do you understand the real Sophia?

You are a blind scoundrel! Why don’t you install a camera and see it for yourself? See for yourself who

is torturing who!”

Slap!

A loud slap swiped across Mia’s face. The slap hit her so hard that almost struck her down. She

propped herself up and she had already lost control of herself and did not consider the consequences,

she continued to yell, “William, you and Sophia are both executioners, evil spirits! Remember that the

heavens are watching. Both of you will one day be punished by the Gods.”

Bang! Her body was violently throw away and her head smashes onto the wall. William was dark like a

demon. He stood over her like a shadow. Mia shook her head and laughed coldly, “You … you only

know how to resort to violence… hit me… continue to hit!”

The neck felt tightened and the body was lifted up. The next moment she was pushed to the handrail,

half of her body was in mid-air. William raged violently and yelled, “Do you believe that I can let you

die!”

“I believe…” She gasped for breath and her face was pale. She didn’t reduce her sarcasm, “Let me die,

anyway your Sophia is an extremely cruel person. She’s not worthy to be saved!
